< Esther 4 >
1 Mordecai jin hitobanga thilsoh hi ahetdoh phat in, apon abot’eh in khaodip pon aki ah in vut akinun, chuin khopi achun alhailut in awging tah le lungna tah in apengjah jeng tan ahi.
When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai tore his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
2 Hiti chun ama khopi kelkot geijin ache in ahi, ajehchu hitobanga lung hesohna von pum in koima khopi kelkotna lutthei lou ahi.
And came even before the king’s gate: for none might enter into the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth.
3 Chuleh hiche lengpa dan aga kiphondoh na gambih jousea chun Judate ho lah a lunghem na nasatah alhungtai. Amahon an angol’un, akap un, aping un, chuleh mitamtah in vut akinu uvin khaodip pon akisil un ahi.
And in every province, wherever the king’s commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
4 Lengnu Esther jenle nungah holeh nukisohon Mordecai umchan chu aseipeh phat un, ama jong alungkham lheh jengtan ahi. Amanun khaodip pon akisil khella akisil dingin pon agah thotnin ahinla Mordecai chu anompon ahi.
So Esther’s maids and her chamberlains came and told it to her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he accepted it not.
5 Hiche jou chun Esther in lengpa dinga nukiso holah a ama lhacha dinga kipansah pa Hathach chu akouvin, Mordecai chun ipi hahsatna atoh ham chule ibola lunggim tah a uma ham ti gakholdoh dingin asol tan ahi.
Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king’s chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to learn what it was, and why it was.
6 Hijeh chun Hathach chu khopi kelkot mai lang leitol a um Mordecai kom’a chun agachen ahi.
So Hatach went forth to Mordecai to the street of the city, which was before the king’s gate.
7 Mordecai in thusoh ho jouse leh Judate suhmang’a aumna dinga Haman in sum ijat lengte sumkhol na a dinga atodoh got ham tichu hoitah in ana seipeh soh keijin ahi.
And Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king’s treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
8 Judate jouse kisuh mangna dinga Susa khopi sunga kisodoh dan lekha pehkhat chu Hathach anapen ahi. Aman hiche lekha chu Esther anavetsah ding chuleh thil umdan chu hoitah a ahilchet dingin Hathach chu agah ngan sen ahi. Aman Hathach jah a chun Esther chu sollin lang lengpa kom’a amite inging a taohen ati.
Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to show it to Esther, and to tell it to her, and to charge her that she should go in to the king, to make supplication to him, and to make request before him for her people.
9 Hiti chun Hathach chu Mordecai jin angan sena pumchun Esther kom’a chun ahung kile tai.
And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.
10 Hiche jouchun Esther in Mordecai kom’a, athu lepoh dingin Hathach chu asolkit in ahi.
Again Esther spoke to Hatach, and gave him commandment to Mordecai;
11 “Lengpa vaipo hole gambih hoa cheng mipiho jouse jengin jong, koihileh lengpan akou hilouva lengpa kom’a lut aum a ahileh lengpan a sana tenggol ahin lhunlut louleh thitei tei ding ahi ti hi mijousen ahet khatchu ahi. Tuhin lengpan eikou louna ni somthum alhingtai” ati.
All the king’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that whoever, whether man or woman, shall come to the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except him to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in to the king these thirty days.
12 Hathach chun Esther thusei chu Mordecai kom alhut kittai.
And they told to Mordecai Esther’s words.
13 Mordecai in Esther chu adonbutna alethot in; “Khopi sunga naum man in Judate jouse akitha gamteng kihoidoh nante tin kigel hih in.
Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.
14 Hitobang phat nahi thipbeh a naum a ahileh, hoilang ham khatna kon ahi Judate tedinga hoidoh nale olna hungsohdoh ding, amavang nangle nainsung mite thiding ahi. Kon ija ahetn em hitobang phatna ding jeh’a hi lengnu mun nalo hithei tah ahi!”
For if thou shalt altogether hold thy peace at this time, then shall there relief and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou hast come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
15 Hichejou chun Esther in Mordecai chu hiti hin thu athot kitne;
Then Esther told them return Mordecai this answer,
16 “Susa khopia um Judate jouse gakoukhom inlang keidingin an-ngollin hungtao vun. Nithum sungin anjong nelou twijong donlouvin asun ajan in um un. Kanungah hole kenjong hitima chu kaboldiu ahi. Hiche jouteng chuleh dan in aphallou hijongleh, kathile kathi, kahinle kahin, lengpa kom’a kagalut ding ahi,” atipeh tai.
Go, gather all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in to the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
17 Hiti chun Mordecai apotdoh in Esther in ahin thupeh dungjui chet chun aga boltai.
So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.
