< Danbu Ni Na 19 >
1 Pakai, Pathen in nangho napehnau gamsunga cheng mite ahin suhgam teng, nanghon agamsung pumpiu chuleh a in jouseu nalodiu akhopi uva nachen diu ahi.
When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;
2 Pakai, Pathen in napehnau gamsunga na chenlut tenguleh, nanghon hiche gamsung chu chenna dinga thum naso diu ahi.
Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
3 Hitia chu Pakaiyin napehnau gamsung chu khopi thum naso diu, hiche khopi jousea chu lampi nasem lut cheh diu, nalah uva kona koi tobang mithat auma ahileh, amachu hiche sunga chu jamlut a kihuhdoh thei ding ahi.
Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.
4 Mikhat touvin kidoupi beiya, khat chu amoh tha khah tah a ahileh, khopi khat pen pen achu jamlut a kihihuh hing thei ahi.
And this [is] the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;
5 Tekah nan, mikhat chu asopipa toh gamlah lama thing phuh dinga akon doh’a thing aphuh laitah a aheicha lap chu aki khodoh a, asopipa chu akhokhah jeng tah’a ahileh, aheicha chun asopi chu akhokhah a thina atokhah’a ahileh, mithat khapa chu khopi thum holah a khat pen pena jamlut a ahinkho aki huhdoh ding ahi.
As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:
6 Chule kihuhdohna dinga khopi chu agamlhat behseh a ahileh, akahlah a phula thei khattouvin ahin delkhuma atha jeng thei ahi. Hinlah mithat khapa chun akidoupi hilouvin, khutsoi jeh a atha khah ahi.
Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he [was] not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.
7 Hitobang akon kiven doh theina ding chun, keiman naheng uva khopi thum sem uvin kati ahi.
Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.
8 Pakai, Pathen in napului, napalui khang uva pat napehsau gamsung hi akehlet ding, agam sung hi aboncha napeh doh diu
And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;
9 chuteng nanghon khopi thum nalhendoh bediu ahi. (Chingthei tah a kathupeh nangaiyuva Pakai, Pathen nangailut uva alampi nacheuva ahileh Aman hiche gam pumpi hi napeh diu ahi).
If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
10 Hitia chu naboluva ahileh, Pakai, Pathen in napehnau hiche gam sunga hi mona beihela thina umlou ding ahi. Chuteng monabei ho thina jal'a mo nachan lou diu ahitai.
That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee [for] an inheritance, and [so] blood be upon thee.
11 Hinlah koitobang khat chun asopi ahot bola, chang lhih jinga aum a, adel khum jenga ahileh, hiche tolthatpa chu khopi ho lah a khat pena chu jamlut a kisel jeng thei ahi.
But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:
12 Chuteng upa chensge chu kon uva mithat pachu khopi sunga aga hol doh diu, amahon aga mudoh diu amapa chu phulahna a ahin lhut diu, athina ding chan gotna apeh uva, thina achansah diu ahi.
Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.
13 Tolthatpa chunga chu lainatna ima nanei lou diu ahi! Hichu Israel mite lah a kona thisan sona chu nasuh bei diu; hichu nangho dinga aphalama pang ding joh ahi.
Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away [the guilt of] innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.
14 Pakai, Pathen in napehnau gam sung nalhu tenguleh nanei nagou hou, napu napateuva pat gamgi song kitung hochu khat jeng cha jong nabodoh lou diu ahi.
Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
15 Themmona jouse lah a kona mikhat sehseh in themmo thu aseiya kona, adang khat chu themmo namoh chansah lou diu ahi. Hitobang chu hettohsah mini ham mithum ham ahiteng lebou themmo kichan sah bep ding ahi.
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
16 Midang khat chu muda man meimeiya kona adih louva bol jeng lou ding, hettohsah tothoa doumah a abolthei lou ding,
If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him [that which is] wrong;
17 chule mini chu akidouva ahileh anigela Pakai angsung leh thempu ho masang leh thutan vaihom ho henga hung cheh ding ahi.
Then both the men, between whom the controversy [is], shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
18 Chutengleh thutan vaihom hon achan chin thu chu giltah a akhol diu ahi. Hinlah jou leh nal thua Israel khattou ahehset a ahileh,
And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, [if] the witness [be] a false witness, [and] hath testified falsely against his brother;
19 Hitobanga ahehsepa chu gotna peh chang ding ahi. Hitobang thil phalou chu nalah uva kona nasuh mangdiu ahi.
Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
20 Chuteng midang jousen ahin jah soh keiyuva, kichat nan alhun den diu, nangho jouse lah a thilse kiti him him abol kit tah lou diu ahi.
And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
21 Hiche hotobang gitlouna ahin koima khoto hih un! Gotna chang dia dan chu, hinkho khela hinkho, mit khela mit, ha khela ha, khut khela khut chule kengphang khela kengphang lah ding ahi.
And thine eye shall not pity; [but] life [shall go] for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
