< Daniel 3 >

1 Nebuchadnezzar lengpan, sana milim khat asemin, milim chu asandan tong somgup alhingin chuleh availam tong gup alhinge. Chuleh milim chu Dura phaicham, Babylon gamkai sunga chun atungdoh in ahi.
King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue that was sixty cubits tall and six cubits wide. He set it up in the Plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
2 Chuin lengpan, thuneiho, vaihom ho, gamkai vaipo ho, leng thumop ho, neiching ho, thutan vaihom ho, thutan pipuho, chuleh gamkai pumpia vaipo ho heng’a, thusep mi asolin, milim atundoh kikatdoh na-a abon’uva hung pang cheh diuvin aga khopsah tai.
Then Nebuchadnezzar sent messages out to gather together the provincial governors, regional governors, and local governors, together with the counselors, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the high officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the statue that he had set up.
3 Hijeh chun, thuneiho, vaihom ho, gamkai vaipo ho, leng thumop ho, neiching ho, thutan vaihom ho, thutan pipuho, chuleh gamkai pumpia vaipo ho, abonchauvin ahung cheh’un, lengpan atundoh milim angsung’a chun adingsoh tauvin ahi.
Then the provincial governors, regional governors, and local governors, together with the counselors, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the high officials of the provinces gathered together to the dedication of the statue that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. They stood before it.
4 Chuin lhangsam aw khat ahung kisam in, “Vo chitin’a mi jouse, namtin leh phungtin’a miho, chuleh pao tintang thoho jouse, nanghon lengpa thupeh ngaiyun.
Then a herald loudly shouted, “You are commanded, peoples, nations, and languages,
5 Nanghon saki kimut gin, theile gin, semjang gin, khong leh dah gin, chuleh tumging dang dang ho gin najah teng’u leh, sana-a kisem lengpa milim tundoh hi, tol’a naboh khup’uva chibai naboh cheh dingu ahi.
that at the time you hear the sound of the horns, flutes, zithers, lyres, harps, and pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and prostrate yourselves to the golden statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
6 Koi hijong leh, hiche chibai bohding thupeh juilou jouse, apettah’a meilhum sung’a kiseplut ding ahi,’’ ati.
Whoever does not fall down and worship, at that very moment, will be thrown into a blazing furnace.”
7 Hichun, tumging ho ahung gin phat chun, mijouse chu, koi jat koi nam hihen chuleh ipi pao tho hijongleh, abonchauvin sana-a kisem milim, Nebuchadnazzar lengpan atundoh chu, tol’a bohkhup in chibai abohsoh kei tauve.
So when all the peoples heard the sounds of the horns, flutes, zithers, lyres, harps, and pipes, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and prostrated themselves to the golden statue that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
8 Hichepet chun, Chaldea mi phabep lengpa heng’a acheuvin, Jews miho chu agahehseuvin ahi.
Now at this time certain Chaldeans came and brought accusations against the Jews.
9 Amahon, Nebuchadnezzar lengpa jah’a, Vo lengpa hingsot in!
They said to Nebuchadnezzar the king, “King, live forever!
10 Nangman mijouse chung’a thupeh gahtah nabolin, koi hijong leh saki kimut gin, theile gin, semjang gin, khong leh dah gin, chuleh tumging thei dang dang ho gin, ajah tenguleh, natundoh sana milim chu bohkhup’a chibai aboh cheh ding nati.
You, king, have made a decree that every person who hears the sounds of the horns, flutes, zithers, lyres, harps, and pipes, and all kinds of music, must fall down and prostrate himself to the golden statue.
11 Chuleh hiche thupeh chun, koi hijongleh, hiche thupeh juilou jouse chu thonlouva meilhum sung’a selut ding ati.
Whoever does not fall down and worship must be thrown into a blazing furnace.
12 Ahivangin, Jews mi phabep Shadrach, Meshachchuleh Abednego, nangman Babylon gamkai ho mopo’a napansah ho chun, Vo lengpa nang thupeh chu ngaisah in aneipouve. Amahon milim natundoh chu bokhup’a chibai boh ding ada uvin, chuleh nangma pathen houna kinbol ding anom pouve,” atiuvin ahi.
Now there are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon; their names are Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, king, pay no attention to you. They will not worship or serve your gods, or prostrate themselves before the golden statue you have set up.”
13 Chuin Nebuchadnezzar jong alung hang behseh jengin, Shadrach, Meshach chuleh Abednego chu, a-ang sung’a ahin kailut diuvin thupeh aneitai. Chuin amaho chu lengpa angsung’a chun ahin kailut tauve.
Then Nebuchadnezzar, filled with anger and rage, commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought to him. So they brought these men before the king.
14 Hichun Nebuchadnezzar lengpan ajah’uva,” Shadrach, Meshach chule Abednego, nanghon kei pathen ho houna-kin bol ding adauvin chuleh katundoh sana-milim jong chibai abohpouve, kitihi adih ham?
Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Have you made your minds up, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you will not worship my gods or prostrate yourselves to the golden statue that I have set up?
15 Keiman nangho avel’a khatvei kateppeh nahiuvve, saki kimut gin, theile gin, semjang gin, khong leh dah gin, chuleh tumgingthei dang dang ho gin, najah phat’u leh katundoh milim hi bohkhop’a chibai naboh cheh diu ahi. Amavang hichea jong nada teitei uleh, apettah’a meilhum deujeju sung’a nakiseplut ding’u ahitai. Chutah leh, kei khut’a kon’a itobang pathenin nahuh doh diuham?” atitai.
Now if you are ready—when you hear the sounds of the horns, flutes, zithers, lyres, harps, and pipes, and all kinds of music—to fall down and prostrate yourselves to the statue that I have made, all will be well. But if you do not worship, you will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace. Who is the god who is able to rescue you out of my hands?”
16 Shadrach, Meshach chule Abednego chun lengpa adonbut’un,”Vo Nebuchadnezzar, keihon nangma angsung’a kihonna thu ka seiju angai khohpoi.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
17 Meilhum deujeju sung’a nei seplut’ujongleh chun, keihon kahouvu akin-na katoh peh’u, ka Pathen’u chun eihuhdohdiu ahi. Vo! lengpa, nangma khut a kon chun hiche ka Pathenu chun eihuhdoh nauvinte.
If there is an answer, it is that our God whom we serve is able to keep us safe from the blazing furnace, and he will rescue us out of your hand, king.
18 Amavang hichea hin eihuhdoh hih beh’ujongleh, kicheh tahin neihetpeh’un, keihon itihchan hijong leh na-pathen ho chu kahou louheldiu chuleh natundoh sana-milim jong chibai kaboh louheldiu ahi,” atiuve.
But if not, let it be known to you, king, that we will not worship your gods, and we will not prostrate ourselves to the golden statue you set up.”
19 Nebuchadnezzar chu, Shadrach, Meshach chuleh Abednego chung’a alunghang vang jeng tan, amaiso melse leuvin alunghang doh tai. Hijeh chun, aman jong meilhum koujeju chu asat-ngaina sang’a sagiveijen asatbe sahdiuvin thu apetai.
Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage; the look on his face changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times hotter than it was normally heated.
20 Chu in lengpan sepai thahat cheh phabep asolin, Shadrach, Meshach chuleh Abednego chu akan’uva meilhum sung’a aselut diuvin thupeh anei tai.
Then he commanded some very strong men in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and to throw them into the blazing furnace.
21 Hijeh chun, sepai hon amaho chu akivonnau jouse, ponsil chol, sangkhol, lukop, chu leh adang jouse pumin akan’un, meilhum deujeju sung’a chun ase lut tauve.
They were tied up still wearing their robes, tunics, turbans, and other clothing, and they were thrown into the blazing furnace.
22 Lengpa alunghang val jeh’a, meilhum halbe ding’a thupeh anei tahjeh chun, meilhum chu asaval behseh jeng tan, Shadrach, Meshach chuleh Abednego gaseplut’a pang sepaiho chu meikong chun ahallih gam tauvin ahi.
Because the king's command was strictly followed and the furnace was very hot, the flames killed the men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
23 Hitichun, Shadrach, Meshach Chuleh Abednego chu, akikannau pumin meilhum deujeju sung’a chun alhalutjel tauve.
These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell into the blazing furnace while they were tied up.
24 Chupettah chun phulou helouvin, Nebuchadnezzar chu tija henhunin ahung ding doh jengin, ama thumop’a pangho jah’a chun,” Mithum ho chu kikan’a meilhum sung’a kiseplut hilou ham?” ati. Amahon adonbut un, “Vo lengpa, kikan ahinai” atiuve.
Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was amazed and stood up quickly. He asked his advisors, “Did we not throw three men tied up into the fire?” They replied to the king, “Certainly, king.”
25 Hichun Nebuchadnezzar a-eojah in,” Ahileh meilhum sung’a mili tah kilhamsa-a kijot lele, meikong in jong akahlou kamu khu veta’u, Chuleh alina mipa khu Pathen toh abang’e” ati.
He said, “But I see four men who are not tied up walking around in the fire, and they are not hurt. The brilliance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”
26 Chuphat in Nebuchadnezzar jong meilhum kongjeju kihalna kot phung ahin naijin, Vo Shadrach, Mesach chuleh Abednego, hungpot doh jeng’un, hikom’a hung loijun, tin aga kou tai. Hichun Shadrach, Mesach chuleh Abednego meilhum sung’a kon’in ahung pot doh tauve.
Then Nebuchadnezzar came near the door of the blazing furnace and called out, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of God Most High, come out! Come here!” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire.
27 Chu in gamsung vaipolen ho, vaihom ho, gamkai vaipo’a pang ho, chuleh lengpa thumop’a pangho abon’un ahungkhom soh keijun, amaho thumchu aum kimvelun, hiche mithum ho chu meikong chun ima alotheipoi ti amu sohtauve. Alujanguva sam jang khat jong akapon, chuleh aponsil’u jong akapoi. Atahsa chung uva meikhugim cha jong anam pouve.
The provincial governors, regional governors, other governors, and the king's counselors who had gathered together saw these men. The fire had not hurt their bodies; the hair on their heads was not singed; their robes were not harmed; and there was no smell of fire on them.
28 Hichun Nebuchadnezzar chun aseitai, “Shadrach, Mesach chuleh Abednego Pathen chu thangvahin umhen. Aman vantil ahinsolin, kitah tah’a alhacha-a pangho ahuhdoh sahtai. Amahon a Pathen’u tilou, Pathen dangho houna leh alhacha-a pan sangin, thidingin atahsa’u apedoh’un, lengpa thupeh jong adonse tapouvin ahi.
Nebuchadnezzar said, “Let us praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his messenger and given his message to his servants. They trusted in him when they set aside my command, and they gave up their bodies rather than worship or prostrate themselves to any god except their God.
29 Hijeh chun, keiman hiche thupeh hi gahtah’a kabol ahi. Ami jouse, koimi koinam hihen, ipi pao tho hijong leh, Shadrach, Mesach chuleh Abednego Pathen douna kamcheng khat seidoh chu, atahsa kibottel ding chuleh a-in’u jong kiphelha-a, in-gem’a kikoi ding ahi. Ajeh chu hitobang’a mi huhdoh ding Pathen dang aumpoi,’’ ati.
Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego must be torn apart, and that their houses must be made into rubbish heaps because there is no other god who is able to save like this.”
30 Chujouvin, lengpan jong Shadrach, Mesach chuleh Abednego chu Babylon gamkai sung’a vaipohna sangjo apehbetan ahi.
Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.
