Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, Who [are] in the mountain of Samaria, Who are oppressing the poor, Who are bruising the needy, Who are saying to their lords: 'Bring in, and we do drink.'
2 Hatchungnung Pakai chu ama mintheng pan in aki hahsel tai, vetan, na chung’a hiche nikho chu hunglhung ding ahi; Mihon nanah hom uva ngakoi tobang thihkoija na kaimang dingu, Amitakip anukhahpen geija ngakoija na kaimang ding’u ahi.
Sworn hath the Lord Jehovah by His holiness, That lo, days are coming upon you, And he hath taken you away with hooks, And your posterity with fish-hooks.
3 “Nangho kulpi pal chimlha lah’a na jamdoh diu, Na kulpiu sunga kon’a naki sep doh diu ahi,’’ tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
And [by] breaches ye go forth, A woman [at that] over-against her, And ye have cast down the high place, An affirmation of Jehovah.
4 “Cheuvin, Bethel kho’a doihouna kilhaina thilto gabol un, Gilgal kho’a cheuvin, Pathen thungailou vin setna gabolbe be jeng tauvin, Jingkah seh in kilhaina bol un, chuleh nithum lhinseh in na hopsom hinchoi jun,’’
Enter ye Beth-El, and transgress, At Gilgal multiply transgression, And bring in every morning your sacrifices, Every third year your tithes.
5 “Na changlhah cholsosa chu Pakai thangvahna thilto in toh'in, chu ting, deichom’a nangma kipehna thilto jong pen; chuleh hichu muntin’a phongjal un seichoi le uvin!
And perfume with leaven a thank-offering, And proclaim willing gifts, sound ye! For so ye have loved, O sons of Israel, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.
6 Na khopi jouseu chunga neh leh chah kalhahsam sah in, nachenna mun jouse uva nehding beihel in kalhan, kel ka lhunsah tan, Ahivang in nangho ka henga nahung kiledeh pouve, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
And I also — I have given to you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, And lack of bread in all your places, And ye have not turned back unto Me, an affirmation of Jehovah.
7 Na lousoh ga houvin gotwi angaichat khohlai tah in, go ka juhsah dan, kakham tang tai, Chuleh keiman khopi khat chung’a go kajuhsah in, khopi chomkhat chunga ka juhsah da ji’e. Louma khat chunga go kajuh sah jin, louma chomkhat chunga kajuhsah da ji e.
And I also — I have withheld from you the rain. While yet three months to harvest, And I have sent rain on one city, And on another city I do not send rain, One portion is rained on, And the portion on which it raineth not withereth.
8 “Hijeh chun, miho chu khopi tin’a donding twi hol in akijot uvin, ahivang in amahon lungna chimset’a donkham twi aga mudoh pouve; Hichan gei hin jong, nangho kahenga nahung kile deh pouve,’’ tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
And wandered have two or three cities, Unto the same city to drink water, And they are not satisfied, And ye have not turned back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah.
9 Keiman na honlei chengu leh nalengpi lei chengu chunga thinglung leh nget kachuhsah in; Na theichang phung jouseu leh na Olive phung jouseu jong abon'in khaokhoten anechai soh hel tauvin; Hichan gei hin jong nangho kaheng’a nahung kile deh pouve, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
I have smitten you with blasting and with mildew, The abundance of your gardens and of your vineyards, And of your figs, and of your olives, Eat doth the palmer-worm, And ye have not turned back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah.
10 “Egypt gamsunga kana bol bang in, keiman nangho chunga gamna hise kalhalut in; Na golhang jouseu gal in kasat lih soh in, chuleh na sakol jouseu jong akikaimang soh hel tai. Na kimvel’u namse leuvin mithi-ui nanah hom dim in nanah’un, Ahivang in nangho kahenga nahung kilekit deh pouve,’’ tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
I have sent among you pestilence by the way of Egypt, I have slain by sword your choice ones, With your captive horses, And I cause the stink of your camps to come up — even into your nostrils, And ye have not turned back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah.
11 ‘’Keiman Sodom leh Gomorrah ka suhmang bangin, na khopiu phabep ka sumang in; Nangho ahingdoh amoh chengse jong, meikong lah’a kon’a kikaidoh thingbong bep na hiuvin, Ahivang in nangho kahenga nahung kilekit deh pouve,’’ tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
I have overturned among you, Like the overturn by God of Sodom and Gomorrah, And ye are as a brand delivered from a burning, And ye have not turned back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah.
12 Vo Israel, keiman nang jong hitobanga chu kabol ding, hamsetna nasatah nachunga ka lhunsah ding ahi. Hijeh chun, na Pathen toh kimaito din kigong in, vo Israel!
Therefore, thus I do to thee, O Israel, at last, Because this I do to thee, Prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13 Ijeh inem itileh, Pakaiyin molsang jouse atungdoh in, khohui jouse jong anunsah in, chuleh alungngaito ho jong mihem kom’a aphong doh ji e. Aman jingkah khovah leh janlai muthim asemdoh in, chuleh leiset chunga mun sanglai jouse chotphan anei jin ahi. Pakai, van Pathen kiti chu ama min ahi.
For, lo, the former of mountains, and creator of wind, And the declarer to man what [is] His thought, He is making dawn obscurity, And is treading on high places of earth, Jehovah, God of Hosts, [is] His name!
