< Acts 15 >
1 Chuin Paul le Barnabas Syria gam'a Antioch muna aum jing lai lhon in, Judea gam'a kon in mi phabep ahung un “Mose dan dung juiya chep natan lou uleh huhhing'a naum thei lou dingu ahi,” tin seijui ho chu thu ahung hil'un ahi.
And certain men came down from Judea, and taught the brethren, saying: Unless you be circumcised, according to the custom of Moses, you can not be saved.
2 Chuin Paul le Barnabas chun amaho thuhil chu dih asah lhon lou jeh chun nasatah in akinel tauvin ahi. Ahin achaina chan na akihoulhah thei tah loujeh un Houbung chun Paul le Barnabas chu amun houbung mi themkhat toh Jerusalema hiche thudoh chung changa solchah ho le upa ho toh kihou khom ding in ahin sol tauvin ahi.
Therefore, after Paul and Barnabas had no little dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others from among them, should go up to Jerusalem, to the apostles and elders, about this question.
3 Chuin Houbung in Jerusalem a dinga ahin sol houchu Phoenicia le Samaria gamsunga akinga pauvin, seijui ho ahin ho pauvin chidang namdang ho lunghei thu chu aseiyun ahile ama ho hapan akipah un ahi.
Being, therefore, con ducted on their journey by the church, they passed through Phenicia and Samaria, making known the conversion of the Gentiles; and they gave great joy to all the brethren.
4 Chuin Jerusalem alhun un Barnabas le Paul chu solchah ho le upa ho jaonan houbung mipi chun ana lemun, chuin amanin Pathen natoh ho abonchan asei lhon tan ahi.
When they arrived at Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and the apostles and elders, and they declared all that God had done with them.
5 Ahin Pharisee ho lah a kona seijui ho themkhat ading doh un “Chidang namdang atahsan hon Mose dan dung juiya chep atanu ngai ahi,” atiuvin ahi.
But some of the sect of the Pharisees, who believed, arose, saying, that it was necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
6 Chuin solchah ho le upa ho chu hiche thua boina ho seilham ding in akikhomun ahi.
And the apostles and elders came together to deliberate about this matter.
7 Akikhop khom nauva chun, phat sottah akihoulim jouvun Peter ading doh in hitin aseiyin ahi, “Sopite ho, phat masa a kona Pathen in nang ho lah a kona keima hi chidang namdang ten kipana thupha ajah thei nadingu le atahsan na dinguva eilhen ahi chu nahe sohkeiyuve,
And after there had been much disputing, Peter arose, and said to them: Brethren, you know that, at the beginning, God made choice among us, that, by my mouth, the Gentiles should hear the word of the Gospel, and believe.
8 Pathen in mihem lungthim ahen, eiho eipeh bang uva chidang namdang te jong Lhagao Theng apeh hin Pathen san ahi nau ahettoh sah ahi.
And God, who knows the heart, became a witness for them, by giving them the Holy Spirit, as he gave it also to us;
9 Eiho le amaho kikah a kikhenna asem pon ahi. Ajeh chu aman tahsan na-a alungthimu asuh theng ahitai.
and he made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Chuti ahi jeh chun, ipi dinga chidang namdang seijui ho chu eiho le ipu ipa teuvin jong anapoh joulou pohgih chu ipohsah uva Pathen ichou dingu ham?
Now, therefore, why do you put God to the proof, by placing a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers, nor we ourselves, were able to bear?
11 Eiho ibonchauva ichan diuva lomlou Pakai Yeshua mingailut vanga huhhing'a um ihiu chu iheuve,” ati.
But we believe that we shall be saved, even as they, through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
12 Chuin Barnabas le Paul in amani jal'a Pathen in chidang namdang te lah a melchih naleh thil kidang abol thu asei lhon chu mipi chun thipbeh in angaiyun,
Then all the multitude kept silence, and listened to Barnabas and Paul, while they made known what signs and wonders God had done by them among the Gentiles.
13 Asei jou lhon in, Jacob ading doh in hiti hin aseiyin ahi, “Sopite ho, kathusei hi ngaitemuvin,
And after they were silent, James answered and said: Brethren, hear me;
14 Chidang namdang te lah a kona Pathen in ama dinga mi akilah tillai thu chu Peter in aseiya kon in ija tauve,
Simeon has declared how God, at the first, did visit the Gentiles, in order to take out from among them a people for his name.
15 Chule hiche chidang namdang te lunghei thudol hi themgao hon ana phondoh masah sau ahitai, ajeh chu hiti hin akisun in ahi.”
And with this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16 “Chujou tengle kakile kit a, David in lhusa kasem phat a, asesa kasah phat kit'a chule kasem phat kit ding ahi.
After this I will return, and build again the tabernacle of David which has fallen down; and I will build again its ruins, and I will set it up;
17 Chutengle mijouse, chidang namdang te jaona a keima dinga kakou jousen Pakai ahin hol ding ahi tin,
that the rest of men may seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name has been called, says the Lord, who does all these things.
18 Hitiho jouse phat sottah masanga kona hetsah ji Pakai chun aseiyin ahi. (aiōn )
Known to God from eternity are all bis works. (aiōn )
19 Chuti ahijeh chun keima thutan chu hiche hi ahi, chidang namdang te Pathen lama lungheina neiho dinga pohgih igot peh lou dingu ahi.
For these reasons, my judgment is, that we give no trouble to those who, from among the Gentiles, have turned to God;
20 Chusang chun, milim doi anga kikatdoh sa anneh, jon thanhoina, hetphah lou saneh, le thisan neh a konin kikang seuvin, tin jih thou hite.
but that we write to them to abstain from pollutions of idols, and from lewdness, and from what is strangled, and from blood.
21 Ajeh chu hiche Mose danthu ho hi khopi jouse le cholngah nikho seh a khang tamtah dinga Judah te kikhopna in'a kisei jing ahi.” ati.
For, from ancient times, Moses has, in every city, those who preach him, being read in the synagogue every sabbath-day.
22 Chuin solchahho le upa hon Jerusalem houbunga konin mi phabep alheng doh un, amaho chu Paul le Barnabas toh Syria gam'a Antioch houbunga akihoulhah nau thu hettoh sah dingin asoluvin ahi. Akilheng doh teni chu houbung lamkai Judas (Barsabbas tiajong kihe) le Silas ahi.
Then it pleased the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to send to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas, chosen men from among themselves; Judas, who was surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren;
23 Chuin hiche lekha thot hitia kisun hi apohsah un ahi: “Hiche lekha thot hi solchahho le upa ho chule Jerusalema um sopihoa kon ahi. Hiche hi Syria gam'a Antioch le Cilicia a um chidang namdang te henga dinga kisun ahi.” Chibai!
and they wrote by their hands as follows: The apostles, and the elders, and the brethren, to the brethren of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greeting:
24 “Hichea kona mi phabep in athuhil uva nahung suhboi uva, nahung suh lunghangu chu kaheuve, ahin amaho chu keihon kahin sol u ahipoi!
Inasmuch as we have heard that certain persons went out from us and troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, That you must be circumcised, and keep the law, to whom we gave no commandment,
25 Hijeh chun kilungkhat tah a kakinopto nau toh lhonin keiho khel in ingailut tah-u Barnabas le Paul hi nangho henga kahin sol uvin ahi.
it has seemed good to us, having come together with one mind, to send chosen men to you, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26 Amani hi Pakai Yeshua Christa mina ahinna chan ngam ahi lhonin ahi.
men who have endangered their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 Chule nahin thudoh chung changuva kakihou lhah nau hettoh sah dinga Judas le Silas hi kahin sol u ahi.”
We have sent, therefore, Judas and Silas, who will tell you the same things in word.
28 “Ajeh chu nangho chunga hicheng thil themkhat tailou pohgih poh sahlou ding hi Lhagao Theng leh keiho dinga phajo ahi;
For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:
29 Hicheng thil themkhat ho chu: milim doi anga kikatdoh sa anneh, jon thanhoina, het phahlou saneh, le thisan neh a konin kikang seuvin, hiche hi najuiuva ahileh alhingsel ahitai.”
That you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what is strangled, and from lewdness; from which if you keep yourselves carefully, you will do well. Farewell.
30 Chuin thupoho chu Antioch alhunun seijui ho abonun akou khomun hiche lekha thot chu ape tauvin ahi.
So when these men were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and having assembled the multitude, they delivered this letter.
31 Chuin hiche tilkhouna lekha thot chu asimun ahile houbung ho chunga kipana adimset tan ahi.
When they had read it, they rejoiced for the consolation which it gave.
32 Chuin Judas le Silas chu ani lhonna themgao ahi toh lhonin seijui ho tilkhouna le atahsanu suhhat na thutampi asei lhon in ahi.
And Judas and Silas, who were also prophets, exhorted the brethren with many words, and strengthened them.
33 Chuin phat chomkhat aum jou lhonin seijui hon amani chu lungmong sel'in Jerusalem houbunga ale sol kit tauvin ahi.
And after spending some time, they were dismissed in peace from the brethren, to those who had sent them.
34 Ahin Silas in chukoma umden ding ageljotai.
But it pleased Silas to remain there.
35 Paul le Barnabas vang chu Antioch a aum den lhonin, hilaiya chun midang ho toh Pathen thu ahil'un alhang samun ahi.
Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching, with many others, the word of the Lord.
36 Phat chomkhat jouvin Paul in Barnabas jah-a aseiyin, “Kile kit hitin Pathen thu ilhangsapna khopi jouse chu gavil kit hitin seijui ho iti um hinauvem gave hite,” atin ahi.
And, after some days, Paul said to Barnabas, let us return, and visit our brethren in every city in which we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
37 Barnabas jong anomin chule John Mark jong puiding anomin ahi.
And Barnabas determined to take with him John, whose surname was Mark.
38 Ahin John Mark in Pamphylia muna ana haisan lhona, natoh na a anajao jom tah lou jeh chun ama puikit ding chu Paul akikam khonteh in ahi.
But Paul did not think it proper to take with them him who had departed from them from Pamphylia, and did not go with them to the work.
39 Chuphat chun akikhenlo lhonin, Barnabas in John Mark akipuiyin Cyprus lama ding in konga akitol tan ahi.
There was, therefore, a sharp contention, so that they separated from each other: and Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus.
40 Paul chun Silas akilhen in, chule tahsan chaten Pakai ngailutna kivoppi dingin asoldoh tauvin ahi.
But Paul chose Silas, and departed, having been commended to the grace of God by the brethren.
41 Chuin Syria le Cilicia gamsungah avah len houbung ho atilkhou le tan ahi.
And he passed through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.
