< Acts 11 >

1 Chidang namdang ten Pathen thu akisan thu chu Judah gam'a um solchahho le seijui dangho henga gangtah in alhung tan;
Now the Apostles, and the brethren in various parts of Judaea, heard that the Gentiles also had received God's Message;
2 Ahinlah Peter Jerusalem ahung lelhun phat in Judahmi atahsanho chun ana oimo un;
and, when Peter returned to Jerusalem, the champions of circumcision found fault with him.
3 “Chidang namdang te insunga nalut in chule an jong naga neh khompie,” atiuvin ahi.
"You went into the houses of men who are not Jews," they said, "and you ate with them."
4 Chuin Peter in amaho heng-ah thilsoh jouse kicheh tah-in aseipeh in hitin aseiyin ahi.
Peter, however, explained the whole matter to them from the beginning.
5 “Keima Joppa khopia kauma katao jing laiyin gaochangin mu kaneiyin, lekha pheng lentah tobang aning lin vana konin ahung kikhai lhan, keima komtah ahung geiyin;
"While I was in the town of Jaffa, offering prayer," he said, "in a trance I saw a vision. There descended what seemed to be an enormous sail, being let down from the sky by ropes at the four corners, and it came close to me.
6 Chuin keiman hiche lekha pheng lentah tobang sung chu kaven ahileh leiset chunga umsa akengli hole gamsa chule aop a kithol le chunga leng vacha kamun,
Fixing my eyes on it, I examined it closely, and saw various kinds of quadrupeds, wild beasts, reptiles and birds.
7 Chuin vana kona awgin khat kajan ‘Peter thoudoh inlang kitha inlang nen’” ati.
I also heard a voice saying to me, "'Rise, Peter, kill and eat.'
8 Ahipoi Pakai, keiho Judah te chona danin aboh le athenglou tia asei jouse imacha kane khapoi kati.
"'On no account, Lord,' I replied, 'for nothing unholy or impure has ever gone into my mouth.'
9 “Ahin vana kona awgin chun avelin ahin seikit in, ‘Pathen in asuhthengsa thilkhat chu athenglou tihih in,’” ati.
"But a voice answered, speaking a second time from the sky, "'What God has purified, you must not regard as unholy.'
10 Hiche thilsoh chu thumveijen kijomin eimusah in chujouvin abonchan vana akikhai tou kit tan ahi.
"This was said three times, and then everything was drawn up again out of sight.
11 Chutah chun Caesarea a kona mithum hung kisol ho chu kaum nau inmun ahung lhung paiyun ahi.
"Now at that very moment three men came to the house where we were, having been sent from Caesarea to find me.
12 Chuin Lhagao Theng in kahenga ahin seiyin amaho chutoh kilhon'a chule amaho chidang namdang ahijeh'a ima lungthoina neilou dingin ahin seiyin ahi. Chuin sopi migup chun ei kilhonpiuvin gangtah in ahin solpau in chu kaga lhung tauvin ahi.
And the Spirit told me to accompany them without any misgivings. There also went with me these six brethren who are now present, and we reached the Centurion's house.
13 Chuin amapa chun thilsoh umchan jouse chu keiho henga chun aseiyin, ahenga vantil akilah-a Joppa a mi solin lang Simon Peter kiti mipa khu gakousah tan,
Then he described to us how he had seen the angel come and enter his house and say, "'Send to Jaffa and fetch Simon, surnamed Peter.
14 Chutengle aman nang le na insungmi te jouse huhhing nathu naseipeh ding ahi! ati.
He will teach you truths by which you and all your family will be saved.'"
15 Chuin Peter chun aseikit in, “Thusei kahinpan in ahileh abul'a eiho chunga ahung kibuh lhah bangin ama ho jouse chunga Lhagao Theng ahung kibunglhan,
"And," said Peter, "no sooner had I begun to speak than the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He fell upon us at the first.
16 Chun Pakaiyin ‘John in twiya baptize achansah ahin ahinlah nangman Lhagao Thenga baptize nachansah dinga ahi’ tia Pakai thusei chu kalunga ahung kilang in ahi.
Then I remembered the Lord's words, how He used to say, "'John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.'
17 Chule eihon Pakai Yeshua Christa itahsan nikhouva Pathen in eipeh-u Lhagao Theng chu chidang namdang te jong apeh ahitah le kei chu koi kahi-a Pathen masanga kadin ding ham?” atin ahi.
"If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we first believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, why, who was I to be able to thwart God?"
18 Chuin midang hon chuche thu chu ajah phat-un athip tauvin Pathen avahchoi tauvin ahi. Chule amahon aseiyun, “Pathen in chidang namdang tedinga jong chonset lunghei nading le tonsot hina akisan thei nadinguva phatpha apeh hi imu tauve,” atiuvin ahi.
This statement of Peter's silenced his opponents. They extolled the goodness of God, and said, "So, then, to the Gentiles also God has given the repentance which leads to Life."
19 Alangkhat ah Stephen thijouva seijuiho kibol gentheina jeh a jamcheh ho chu Phoenicia, Cyprus le Syria gam'a Antioch changeiyin ajamun, chule Judah te henga bou Pathen thu alhangsamun ahi.
Those, however, who had been driven in various directions by the persecution which broke out on account of Stephen made their way to Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, delivering the Message to none but Jews.
20 Hijeng jongle Cyprus le Cyrene gam'a kona Antioch khopia che seijui phabep ho chun chidang namdang te henga Pakai Yeshua thu alhangsam uvin ahi.
But some of them were Cyprians and Cyrenaeans, who, on coming to Antioch, spoke to the Greeks also and told them the Good News concerning the Lord Jesus.
21 Pakai thahatna amaho chunga aumjeh chun chidang namdang te laha mitam tah in Pakai lama lung aheiyun atahsan tauvin ahi.
The power of the Lord was with them, and there were a vast number who believed and turned to the Lord.
22 Chuin Jerusalema Houbung in hiche thu ajah phat-un Barnabas chu Antioch'a asol tauvin ahile,
When tidings of this reached the ears of the Church in Jerusalem, they sent Barnabas as far as Antioch.
23 Amun alhun phat in Pathen phatthei bohna chu amun akipah lheh jengin hichun aman seijui ho chu Pakaiya dihtah-a umjing dingin atilkhouvin ahi.
On getting there he was delighted to see the grace which God had bestowed; and he encouraged them all to remain, with fixed resolve, faithful to the Lord.
24 Ajeh chu Barnabas chu miphatah Lhagao Thenga dimjing le Tahsanna a dettah mi ahin, mitam tah Pakaiyah ahin puilutbe uvin ahi.
For he was a good man, and was full of the Holy Spirit and of faith; and the number of believers in the Lord greatly increased.
25 Chuin Barnabas chu Tarsus lama Saul hol dingin ana chepai tan ahi.
Then Barnabas paid a visit to Tarsus to try to find Saul.

He succeeded, and brought him to Antioch; and for a whole year they attended the meetings of the Church, and taught a large number of people. And it was in Antioch that the disciples first received the name of 'Christians.'
27 Hiche phatlai hin themgao phabep Jerusalema kon Antioch'a acheuvin,
At that time certain Prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch,

one of whom, named Agabus, being instructed by the Spirit, publicly predicted the speedy coming of a great famine throughout the world. (It came in the reign of Claudius.)
29 Chuin Antioch'a um seijui ho chun Judah gam'a um sopi hoa dinga kithopina thot dingin agel lha tauvin ahile abonchauvin atamthei penin atohkhom tauvin ahi.
So the disciples decided to send relief, every one in proportion to his means, to the brethren living in Judaea.
30 Chuin hiche athil tokhomu chu Barnabas le Saul in Jerusalema Houbung upa ho khut a apehlut lhon dingin nganse na anei tauvin ahi.
This they did, forwarding their contributions to the Elders by Barnabas and Saul.
