Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.
2 Hichun David in Hebron khopi ah chapa phabep ahingin ahi: apeng masapenpa chu ahileh Amnon ahin amahi Jezreel mi ahinoam in ahinpeh ahi.
Now sons were born to David in Hebron. And his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam of Jezreel;

and the sixth, Ithream, of Eglah, David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron.
6 David insung le Saul insung mite kah a kidouna aumjing laichun, Abner chu Saul insung mite adin lamkai thahattah ahung hitan ahi.
And it came about while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner was gaining power in the house of Saul.
7 Nikhat chu ahitin ahi Saul’s chapa Ishbosheth chun Abner chu apa thaikemnu Rizpah kiti Aiah chanu toh chun lumkhom danin angoh tan ahi.
Now Saul had a secondary wife, Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah. And Ishbaal son of Saul said to Abner, "Why have you gone in to my father's secondary wife?"
8 Hichun Abner chu alungsou lheh jengin, “keimahi Judah te uicha bonga hitia pehlele ding kahim?” tin apeng jah jing tan ahi. “Keiman ijakai napa Saul, a insung mite chule aloile gol ho dia kaboldoh jouva nangho jeng jong David khut a kapeh doh lou nahiu vin, nangman hiche numeinu chungchanga kathemmo nading nahol, hiche hiham kachan ding chu? Ati.
Then Abner was very angry over the words of Ishbaal, and said, "Am I a dog's head? Until today, is it for myself that I have been doing all these things, showing loyalty to the house of Saul your father, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David? And yet you charge me this day with a fault concerning this woman.
9 Pakaiyin athu teppih chu David in amolso jou nadia keiman imacha a kakithopi lou poupouleh Pathen in keima eibolgim henlang eithat jeng hen!
God do so to Abner, and more also, if, as Jehovah has sworn to David, I do not do even so to him;

to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba."
11 Hichun Ishbosheth jong chun thudang aseibe tapon ahi ajeh chu Abner in epi ahinbol ding chu akichat ahi.
And Ishbaal could not answer Abner another word, because he feared him.
12 Chuin Abner injong sottol le hochu David kom asolin hitin aseisah tai, “gamsung pumpihi nanga hilou ham? Hijeh chun keima toh kitepna sem in, chuti leh keiman Israel mipi jouse hi nangmatoh apankhom nathei diuva kahin kithopi ding nahi, ati.
Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, "Whose is the land?" and saying, "Make an agreement with me, and look, my hand shall be with you, to bring all Israel around to you."
13 Chuin David in adonbut in, “aphai,” Ahin kajinu Michal, Saul’s chanu chu nahung teng nahin lepui louleh nangma toh kihaolim na kaneilou ding ahi, ati.
He said, "Good. I will make a covenant with you, but one thing I require of you. That is, you shall not see my face unless you first bring Mikal, Saul's daughter, when you come to see my face."
14 Hiti chun David in hiche thuhi Saul chapa Ishbosheth chu athot tan ahi: “kajinu Michal chu neihin lepih in, ajeh chu keiman amahi Philistines mijakhat hinkho toh kahin kipuitha ahi.” tin aseitai.
David sent messengers to Ishbaal, Saul's son, saying, "Give me my wife Mikal, whom I betrothed to myself for one hundred foreskins of the Philistines."
15 Hijeh chun Ishbosheth injong Michal chu ajipa Palti, Liash chapa akon chun agapuidoh tan ahi.
Ishbaal sent and took her from her husband Paltiel the son of Laish.
16 Hitichun Paltin jong amanu nung chu Bahurim lamchan kap pumpum in ahinjui peh in, hichun Abner in aja ah, “inlam kinung letan!” ati. Chuin Palti jong inlam akinung le tan ahi.
But her husband went with her, weeping behind her, as far as Bahurim. Then Abner said to him, "Go back." So he went back.
17 Hitichun Abner’in Israel upa ho chu akihaolim pin, hitin aseipih tai, “nang hon phatkhat lai a David chu naleng diuva nana dei u hilou ham?”
Abner advised the elders of Israel, saying, "For some time you have wanted David to be king over you.
18 Hijeh chun tuhi aphat ahitai! Ajeh chu Pakaiyin hitin aseiye, “keiman David hi kami Israel te Philistines te khut leh agalmiteu dang jouse akon huhdoh dia kalhen ahitai.”tin.
Now then do it, for Jehovah has spoken of David, saying, 'By the hand of my servant David, I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.'"
19 Chuin Abner in Benjamin mite kom injong agasei kit in, chujouvin Israel mite jouse le, Benjamin miten jong David kithopi ding anupna thu'u gasei din Hebron lam jonin achi tan ahi.
And Abner also spoke privately to the sons of Benjamin. And Abner also spoke privately to David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and to the whole house of Benjamin.
20 Chuin Abner le amite mi somni Hebron alhun uchun, David in golvah loupi tah abolpin ahi.
So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. David made Abner and the men who were with him a feast.
21 Chujou vin Abner in David kom chun aseiyin, “keima chengting kapu lengpa tosot din Israel mipi jouse gakhom ingting chule amaho leng nahi thei nadin amahon nangma toh kitep na khat sem untin chule nangman amaho jouse chungah nangma lungdei bang tah in vaihom tan,” Ati. Hiti chun David in Abner chu asol tan ahile amapa jong lungmong tah in achitan ahi.
Abner said to David, "I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may reign over all that your soul desires." David sent Abner away; and he left in peace.
22 Ahinlah David in Abner lungmong tah a asoldoh jou chat chun, Joab le David’s sepai themkhat hochu michom a achi naova kon thil tampi toh ahungkile tha taovin ahi.
Look, the servants of David and Joab were returning from a raid, and brought in a great spoil with them. But Abner was not with David in Hebron, for he had sent him away, and he left in peace.
23 Chuin Joab ahung lhunlhun chun, mihon aseipih un Abner chun injo chat chun Lengpa ahungvil in chule ama lungmong tah in akisol doh tai atiu vin ahi.
When Joab and all the army who was with him had come, they told Joab, saying, "Abner the son of Ner came to David, and he has sent him away, and he left in peace."
24 Chujou vin Joab jong lengpa kom alhaijelin ngehna aganei tan ahi, “nangman epi nabol hitam? epi nabol na a nangman Abner chu lungmong tah a nasol doh jeng hitam? ati.
Then Joab came to the king, and said, "What have you done? Look, Abner came to you. Why is it that you have sent him away? Now he has gone.
25 Nangman kichenin nahenai ama chu nangma umchan kholtoh ding le nathilbol jouse kholtoh dinga hung ahi chu!” ati.
Don't you know the evil ways of Abner the son of Ner? He came to deceive you and to observe your movements and to learn everything that you are doing."
26 Chujou vin Joab’in David chu adalhan asot tolle hochun Abner agamet uva ahin lepui diuvin asol tan ahi. chuin amahon Abner chu Sirah twikul akon ahin lepui un ahi, ahin David in thil umchan emacha ahepoi.
When Joab had left David, he sent messengers after Abner, and they brought him back from the well of Sirah; but David did not know it.
27 Chuin Abner Hebron ahung le lhun tan, hichun Joab’in amachu kelkot phung lamah achanga kihaolimpi ding bang in apuidoh tan ahi. hinlah Abner chun asopipa Asahel phulah nan a oipoh laitah chu asutpih in athat tan ahi.
When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the midst of the gate to speak with him quietly, and struck him there in the abdomen, so that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
28 Hitabang thilsoh David in ajahdoh phat chun, hitin thuphon aneitai, “Pakai minna kakitep ahi Ner chapa Abner chungchang thua hi keima le kalenggam eitih a mona neilou kahiuve ati.
Afterward, when David heard it, he said, "I and my kingdom are guiltless before Jehovah now and forever of the blood of Abner the son of Ner.
29 Joab le a insung mite jouse themmo changah ahitai. Chule Joab insung mite akon hitabong gaosap na, thisan a long damlouna, tiphah, tenggol kiphu a lamjotna, chemjam a thina chule anneh lhah sam nahohi akhang khang uvin umjing hen.
May it whirl over the head of Joab, and on all his father's house. Let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has an issue, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread."
30 Hiti chun Joab le asopipa Abishai in Abner chu athat lhon tan ahi ajeh chu Abner in asopipa lhon Asahel Gibeon galmun na atha jeh ahi.
So Joab and Abishai his brother killed Abner, because he had killed their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
31 Chuin David in Joab le aumkhompi hocheng kom achun hitin aseiye, “napon jouseu bot eh unlang khaodip pon jeng kivon un chule Abner adin lunghemmun ati. Chuin leng David amatah jong vuinalam a chi miho nung chu ajuitan ahi.
David said to Joab, and to all the people who were with him, "Tear your clothes, and clothe yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner." And King David followed the coffin.
32 Hiti chun Abner chu Hebron munna avui taovin, chule lengpa le mipi jouse chu Abner lhan chungah chun akap tao vin ahi.
They buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.
33 Chuin lengpan Abner dingin hiche mithila hi asai: “Abner chu mingol thi a thiding hitam?
The king lamented for Abner, and said, "Should Abner die as a fool dies?
34 Nakhut tenila akikan pon; nakeng tenila akisompon. Migilouho kitha bangin nangma naki that tai” atin ahileh, mipi jouse chu Abner adin akapkit uvin ahi.
Your hands were not bound in chains, your feet were not put into fetters. As a man falls before the ruthless, so you fell." All the people wept again over him.
35 Hiche Abner thi nikho chun nehding jouse David adatan hinlah mipi jouse chu ataovin netei in atiuve. Hinlah David in kitepna asem in, hitin aseiye, “keiman nilhum masanga epi hijong leh kaneh poupouleh Pathen’in isugim henlang tha jong ithat jeng hen, ati.
Then all the people came to persuade David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, "God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or anything else, until the sun goes down."
36 Hichun mipiho chu alunglhai shah lheh taovin ahi. chule ahimongin, lengpa thilbol jouse chun amaho alunglhai sah un ahi.
And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them; just as everything the king did pleased the people.
37 Hitichun Abner’s kithana chung changa David in pan alahlou dan Judah a um mijouse le Israel mite jousen ahethem taovin ahi.
So all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to kill Abner the son of Ner.
38 Chuin leng David in a sepai lamkai ho kom chun aseiyin, “tunia Israel sunga lamkai jaumtah khat alhuh hi geldoh lou nahiu ham?
The king said to his servants, "Do you not realize that a leader and a great man has fallen this day in Israel?
39 chule keima hi lengdia thao kinusa hijeng jong leng, Zeruiah chapateni – Joab le Abishai hi keiman kathunoi a kakoidin ahatbehset lhonin ahi. hijeh chun Pakaiyin migiloupa chu athilpha lou bol dung jui in lethuh tahen,” ati.
I am this day weak, though anointed king. And these men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too brutal for me. May Jehovah reward the evildoer according to his wickedness."
