< 2 Samuel 21 >

1 Hitichun leng David khanglai hin kum thum sungin kel analhan, hijeh chun David jong chun iti ding ham, tin Pakai chu adong tan ahi, chuin Pakaiyin hitin ahinseiye, “Saul chun Gibeon mite anatha jeh a Saul le a insung mite chunga thisan so jal a themmona aum jeh ahi,” ati.
Now there was a famine in the days of David for three consecutive years, so David sought the face of the LORD. And the LORD said, "There is bloodguilt on Saul and on his house, because he murdered the Gibeonites."
2 Hijeh chun lengpan jong Gibeon mite chu akoukhom soh tai. chule Gibeon mite hi Israel chate sung peng mi ahipouvin Amor mite chia peng athimoh ho ahibouvui; chule amaho hi Israel chaten thalou dinga anasei vanguvin, Saul chun ami Israel chate leh Judah tedinga atom ngai na jeh-a amaho hi suhgam ding anati ahi.
So the king summoned the Gibeonites, and spoke to them. (Now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel but of the remnant of the Amorites. And the children of Israel had sworn to them, but Saul sought to exterminate them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah.)
3 David’in hiche Gibeon mite koma chun hitin aseiye, “Ipi kabol peh diu ham? Itobang mongin longman nasem peh theiyu leng nanghon hiche Pakai goulo mite hi phatthei naboh thei dingu ham?” tin adong tai.
And David said to the Gibeonites, "What can I do for you? And how can I make atonement, that you may bless the inheritance of the LORD?"
4 Hichun Gibeon miten leng David koma chun aseiyun, “Keiho le Saul chule ainsung mite kah a thuhi dangka le sana peh a kihoucham na thei ding jong ahipoi, keihon Israel mite lah a mihem khat tou ka thalo diu thujong ahi deh poi,” atiuve. Chuin David chun asei kit’in, Ahile ken nang ho dinga ipipen ba ka bolpeh diu ham? Neiseipih un khuti leh ken nang ho dia kabolpih ding nahiu ve” ati.
The Gibeonites said to him, "It is not a matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house, nor is it our place to put anyone to death in Israel." Then he said, "What do you want? For I will do it for you."
5 Hiti chun amahon jong lengpa koma chun, “Israel gamsunga chen-mun ge-mun kanei lou helna diuva keiho suhgam nadia lunggel tohgon ananei chu Saul ahi atiuve.
So they said to the king, "The man who opposed us and persecuted us, who meant to eradicate us from having a place anywhere in the territory of Israel,
6 Hijeh chun Saul chate pasal sagi ho chu keiho khut a neihin peu vin lang, chule keihon jong amaho chu Gibeon khoa Pakai molsang chunga khun Pakai angsunga ga khailih jeng’uvinge,” ati tauve. Chuphat in David jong chun, “chuti ahileh amaho mi sagi chu nape nau vinge,” atipeh tai.
let seven of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them before the LORD at Gibeon on the mountain of the LORD." And the king replied, "I will do it."
7 Lengpan Saul chapa Jonathan chapa Mephibosheth vang chu ahing hoiye; ijeh-inem itileh amanin Pakaiya kihahsel na ana nei lhon ahi, David le Saul chapa Jonathan in kihahsel na ananeisa lhon ahitai.
But the king spared Mippibaal, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 Chuin lengpan Aiah chanu Saul jinu Rizpah chapate ni Armoni le Mephibosheth amanin, Saul chanu Merab chapate mi nga jong amanin, amaho hi Merab hin Meholath mipa Barzillai chapa Adriel kitipa chutoh ahinlhon ahi;
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mippibaal; and the five sons of Merob the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
9 David’in mi sagi hi Gibeon mite khut a apedoh tai; chuin amahon jong hiche pasal sagi ho chu molsang chunga Pakai angsunga akhaiyuvin, mi sagi jenchu athigam tauve. Amaho atha niu chu sakol chang-at kipat til ni chu anahi.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them on the mountain before the LORD, and all seven of them fell together. And they were put to death in the first days of harvest at the beginning of barley harvest.
10 Chuin Rizpah kitinu amin Aiah chanu hin khaodip pon akilah in, songpi chung khat’a akisil khaodip pon chu aphan, chang at kipat til a pat chun vana kona chuh go ahung juh kahsen apha pha jenge; sun teng jongle chunga leng vachate aponpha chunga chun atousahpon, chubang ma chun jan teng jongle gamsa ho chu ponpha chunga chun alutsah deh pon ahi.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on a rock, from the beginning of harvest until it rained on them from the sky. And she did not allow the birds of the sky to rest on them by day, nor the wild animals by night.
11 Chuin Saul thaikemnu Aiah chanu Rizpah thilbol umchan chu David koma aseipeh phat’un,
It was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the secondary wife of Saul, had done.
12 David jong achen Saul leh achapa Jonathan gu-lheng lhon chengse beh chu Jabesh-gilead kho haosate koma agalan ahi. Chule hiche haosa hohin, hiche gu-lheng lhon ho hi Philistine miten Gilboa molsang chunga Saul ajo chung uva, Philistine mihon Saul leh achapa Jonathan Beth-shan kholai dunga akhai nauva aga guh doh-u anahi.
Then David went and obtained the bones of Saul and the bones of his son Jonathan from the citizens of Jabesh Gilead, who had stolen them from the public square of Beth Shan, where the Philistines had hung them on the day that the Philistines killed Saul on Gilboa;
13 David chun hiche muna kon chun Saul leh achapa Jonathan gu-lheng lhonho chu agapon, chuin mihon amani banga kikhailih jouse gubuh chengse chutoh akoikhom tauvin ahi.
and he brought up from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son. And they gathered the bones of those who were hanged.
14 Chuin lengpan gu-lheng lhon ho chu Benjamin gamsunga Zela khoa Saul pa Kish lhan khuh a avuidiu vn thupeh aneitan ahi. Chule miho hin lengpa thupeh bang bangin abolsoh keiyuvin ahi. Hiche nunghin Pathenin gamsunga kel lhah chu akichai sah tan ahi.
And he buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan in the land of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father. And they performed all that the king commanded. After that God responded to prayers for the land.
15 Hichun Philistine mite chun Israel chate dounan gal ahinbol uvin ahileh, David lengpa jong chu asepaite toh kilhonin gal akonsuh kit’in Philistine mite dounan gal agasat tauve. Hichun David jong chu atha achol lheh jengin ahi.
The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines. Now David became exhausted,
16 Chuti chun gal muna chun Rapha gal hatpa chilhah a mi khat amin Ishbi-benob kiti pa hi apangin, ama chu atengcha jeng jong agih dan sum-eng jeng shekel ja khat alhingin, chule amahin chemjam thah lih khat akonga akikon, David chu tha jeng dingin ahin gotan ahi.
and Dodo son of Joash, of the descendants of the Raphah, captured him. His spear weighed three hundred bronze shekels, and he was girded with a new sword, and he thought he could kill David.
17 Ahin Zeruiah chapa Abishai chun David ahung panpin, Philistinete gal-hatpa chu adel khumin athat tan ahi. Chuphat’in David chu asepaiten ajadauvin, “Nangma tukal keiho toh gal ikon khom louhel diu ahitai, achuti loule namoh thilo ding ahin, Israel chate lah a meivah banga navah hi mit jeng thei ahi,”atiuve.
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him and struck the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David took an oath, saying, "You must not go out to battle with us again, so that you do not extinguish the lamp of Israel."
18 Hiche jou nunghin Gob muna Philistinete toh gal kisat na aum kittai; hichea hin Hushah mi Sibbecai kitipa chun Philistine gal hat miho chilhahte lah a mi khat Saph kitipa chu athat kit’e.
Now it came to pass after this that there was another battle with the Philistines at Gezer. Then Sibbekai the Hushathite killed Saph, a descendant of the Raphah.

There was again war with the Philistines at Gob; and Elhanan the son of Jair the Bethlehemite killed the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20 Chujouvin Gath khoa gal ahung soh kit tai; chule galmuna chun mi adung sangtah khat ana um'in, amapa chu akhut phang lang khatcheh a chun akhutjung gup gup akeh in ahi; chule akengphang lang khat gel a jong chun akengjung gup gup cheh akeh in ahi; abonchan akhut jungle akengjung agoma som ni le li alhinge; chule ama jong hi galhat mihangte chilhah khatma anahin ahi.
There was another battle at Gath, where there was a man of great stature who had on six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty four in number, and he also was a descendant of Raphah.
21 Ahin aman Israel mite athu angailouva, aseiset phat chun David sopipa shimea chapa Jonathan in athat tan ahi.

These four were descendants of Raphah in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
