< 2 Samuel 20 >
1 Hiche phatlai hin pan nabei mikhat ana um'in amapa chu amin Sheba akiti, ama hi apa min Bicri ahin, Benjamin phunga mi ahiye; Chule Sheba kitipa hin saki pengkul amut gingin lhang asamin aseitai, “David koma eihon chan ding inei pouvin, Jesse chapa koma goulo ding inei pouve’ Vo Israel mite, nangma nangma ponbuh kijot cheh tauvin,” ati.
And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name [was] Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
2 Hichejeh chun Israel miten abonchauvin David adalha soh hel tauvin, Bicri chapa Sheba nung ajui cheh tauve; ahivangin Judah miten alengpao chu lunglut tah in Jordan vadunga pat Jerusalem geiyin ajui lut peh tauvin ahi.
So every man of Israel, withdrawing from David, followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah adhered to their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
3 David chu Jerusalema ahung in ain ahung lhungtai, chuin lengpan in ngah dinga adalhah thaikem numei som ho chu abonchan aman khom soh keiyin in khat a akoikhom in, chule hiche in chu mi angah ding sepai akoiyin, neh le chah vang apenan, amaho hi avil tapon, aluppi tapoi. Hijeh chun amaho hi athi ni geiyuvin cha hing louvin aumsohkeiyun, meithai bangin aumsoh keitauve.
And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women [his] concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in custody, and fed them, but went not in to them. So they were shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.
4 Hichun lengpan Amasa koma aseipeh in, “Nithum sungin Judah phunga mite abonchan kou khom soh keiyin lang, nangma tah jeng jong hikoma hin hung kikhomuvin,” ati.
Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble to me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.
5 Hijeh chun Amasa jong Judah mite kou dingin akondoh tai; Ahinla ama dinga aphat kitep peh sangnga tamjo ahin la tan ahi.
So Amasa went to assemble [the men of] Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.
6 Chuphat’in David chun Abishai koma chun aseiyin, “Tua hi Sheba kitipa Bicri chapa khun Absalomin eibol nau sanga khohjoa eibol diu ahi; nangman napu lhacha sepaite khu kipuiyin lang anung delpeh in lang, gamantan achuti louva ahileh ama in kulpi kikaikhum khopi phabep akisah doh a eiho eisuh genthei diu ahi,” ati.
And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than [did] Absalom: take thou thy lord's servants, and pursue him, lest he get for himself fortified cities, and escape us.
7 Abishai nung juiyin Joab jong Chereth mite jong, Peleth miho jong, chule mihat jouse jong abonchan akitol soh keiyuvin ahi. Chule amaho hi Jerusalem khopia konin Bicri chapa Sheba nung del dingin akondoh tauve.
And there went out after him Joab's men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
8 Amaho hi Gibeon khopia songpi lentah phung ahung geiyuvin Amasa jong amaho lamto dingin ahung tai. Hichun Joab hi sepai vonin akivonin, chule akongjanga chun konggah khat hin chemjam apaiyin akipoh in ahi; amasang lam’uva Amasa chibei bol din achepheiyin, hichun ahung kibalhun achemjam chu ahungkithol doh paitan ahi.
When they [were] at the great stone which [is] in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab's garment that he had put on was girded to him, and upon it a girdle [with] a sword fastened upon his loins in its sheath; and as he went forth it fell out.
9 Hichun Joab hin Amasa koma hitin aseiye, “Sopi nadam dam hinam? tin adongin, hiti chun Joab hin Amasa chu akhut jetlam in amanin abengmul chun atuh chah jenge abeng achop ding bangin.
And Joab said to Amasa, [Art] thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.
10 Hichea hi Amasa hin Joab in akhut veilam a chemjam akidop lam chu anahet lou ahiye; hiti hin Joab chun Amasa chua oipoh asutpih in; hichun avela sat kit louhel’in khatvei she she chun ama jong athidel jengin ahi. Chujouvin Joab le asopipa Abishai chun Bicri chapa Sheba nung chu adel pai pai tauve.
But Amasa took no heed to the sword that [was] in Joab's hand: so he smote him in the fifth [rib], and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
11 Chule Joab sepaite lah a mi khat chu Amasa long phunga aga dingin hitin aseiye, “Koi koi hijongle Joab panpia David dinga pang jouse chun Joab nung jui cheh hen,” ati.
And one of Joab's men stood by him, and said, He that favoreth Joab, and he that [is] for David, [let him go] after Joab.
12 Hichun Amasa vang chu lamlen kim laitah a athisan lah a akisai saiyin alumden tai. Lampia hung mi jouse chun amudoh tengule ading cheh jiuvin, hijeh chun alongkom a dingpa chun miho jouse agahdin ji jeh u chun Amasa long chu akaimangin gamlah a apolut in pon akhu khumtan ahi.
And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
13 Chuin Amasa chu lamlen lailunga kona akai mang phat chun mipi sepai jouse jong chu Joab nung juiya Bicri chapa Sheba nung del dingin ache pai pai jeng tauve.
When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
14 Sheba hin Israel mite phung tin anakhol soh keiyin, Bethema’acah gam'a Abel chan gei anajot man in ahi; hijeh chun Bicri mite jouse akikhom’uvin ama nung ajui soh hel tauve.
And he went through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, and to Beth-maachah, and all the Berites: and they were assembled, and went also after him.
15 Hichun Joab to pang khom mite chu abonchan ahunguvin Bethma’acah gam'a Abel khoa chun Sheba aga’um tauve. Khopi um nan pal akaiyuvin, chule khopi pal chutoh kingat ton leipal chu akikhang doh jenge; Chuin amahon khopi pal chu phetjal dingin agouvin avojal pantauve.
And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that [were] with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
16 Hichun khopi sung langa konin numei miching tah khat hinmi ahinkouvin, “Ngaiyuvin, ngaiyuvin, keiman Joab chu kaki houpithei na dingin hinsei peh’uvin lang hilai muna hin hung hen, ati hintiuvin,” ahinti.
Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, to Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.
17 Hiphat chun Joab jong chu amanu koma chun ahungin ahileh, numeinu chun hitin aseipeh tai, “Nangma Jo’b nahim? atia ahileh aman jong adonbutin, “Ka hinai,” ati. Hichun numeinu jong chun Joab koma chun asei kit’in, “Nasohnu keima thusei ding hohi ngai temin,” atia ahileh; Joab in jong adonbut’in, “Kangai peh nai,” ati.
And when he was come near to her, the woman said, [Art] thou Joab? And he answered, I [am he]. Then she said to him, Hear the words of thy handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.
18 Hichun numei nun jong aseitai, Masanga gol lui laiyin tehse hon hitin ana sei uve, Abel khoa mi bou kidong ding ahi,’ tin aseiyiuve; hiti hin ipi thu hijong leh ana seichai jiuve.
Then she spoke, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They will surely ask [counsel] at Abel: and so they ended [the matter].
19 Hitia chu keima jong hi Israel mite lah a cham na bol ji le kitah taha hinkho mangmi khat chu kahi; hijeh chun tun nangman Israel chate din penna khopikhat hi thagamdingin nahol’e; ibola nangman Pakai goulo athilkeo hi hitia hi suh mang jeng ding nati ham?” ati.
I [am one of them that are] peaceable [and] faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?
20 Hichun Joab jong chun adonbut’in, “Keiman itih hijong leh khopi kasuh mang louhel ding ahi ai!
And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.
21 Nasei chu adih poi, ahin Ephraim gam'a thinglhang mi Bicri kitipa chapa khat amin Sheba kitipa chun David lengpa dou nan akhut alamtai; ama chu hinpe doh jenguvin, chutileh keima khopia kona hi kaki nungle jeng ding ahi,” ati. Chuphat’in numeinu jong chun adonbut paiyin, Joab koma chun aseitai, “Vetan, naseipa chu palvuma aluchang tansa hung kileh lha ding nakoma hung chu ding ahi,” atipeh-e.
The matter [is] not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, [even] against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said to Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
22 Numeinu chu alungthima achihna bang dungjuiyin khopi sunga anung chen mipi jouse koma chun hitin aga seitai. Chuin mihon Bicri chapa Sheba chu alu atanuvin, Joab koma chun agasep lut tauve. Chuphat in Joab chun saki pengkul chu amut paiyin, khopia kon chun akikhen cheh soh keiyun, mi jouse chu ama ama in cheh a ache tauve. Joab vang chu Jerusalema lengpa koma dingin ahung kile kit tai.
Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast [it] out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.
23 Hichun Joab kitipa hi Israel chate pumpi dinga gal lamkai lenpen chule sepai jouse chunga vaipo ahin, Jehoiada chapa Benaiah chu Chereth mite leh Peleth mite sepai ho lamkai vaipon apangin;

24 Chule Adoniram kitipa chu engbol a um soh natonga pangho chunga chun vaihom in apangin, Ahilud chapa Jehoshaphat kitipa chu thuching lekha koiyin apangin,
And Adoram [was] over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud [was] recorder:

And Sheva [was] scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar [were] the priests:
26 Chule Jair mi Ira vang chu David din thempun anapang tan ahi.
And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.
