And Jehoram son of Ahab hath reigned over Israel, in Samaria, in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigneth twelve years,

2 Amahin anule apa tobang lom in thilse ana bolpon ahinlah Pathen mitmu’n thilse jeng anabollin ahi. Amahin apan anatundoh Baal houna dia apan anatun khumpi theng teho vang anavo lhun ahi.

and doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, only not like his father, and like his mother, and he turneth aside the standing-pillar of Baal that his father made;

3 Ahijing vang'in Nebat chapa Jeroboam in Israel mipite ana chonset sahna hiche chonsetna chu ana chejompi jingin ahi.

only to the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat that he caused Israel to sin he hath cleaved, he hath not turned aside from it.

4 Moab mi Mesha lengpa chu kelngoi chi pun sahmi anahi. Amahin Israel lengpahi kumseh a kelngoi sang jakhat chuleh kelchal sang jakhat mul anapehji ahi.

And Mesha king of Moab was a sheep-master, and he rendered to the king of Israel a hundred thousand lambs, and a hundred thousand rams, [with] wool,

5 Ahinlah Ahab athi phat in Moab lengpan Israel lengpa ana doutan ahi.

and it cometh to pass at the death of Ahab, that the king of Moab transgresseth against the king of Israel.

6 Hijeh chun Joram lengpan jong Samaria konin Israel sepai gangtah in ahin toldoh in,

And king Jehoram goeth out in that day from Samaria, and inspecteth all Israel,

7 Lampia chun Judah lengpa Jehoshaphat chu thu agah thot’in, “Moab lengpa kei dounan gal ahin boltan ahi, amaho toh kisatna ding ahi neihung panhu theiding hinam? atin ahi. Hichun Jehoshaphat in adonbut in, “Ibola kahung da ding ham? Nangle kei thakhat ihi chula am? Kei sepai hochu nang sepai ahin, kasakol hochu nang sakol ahi,” ati.

and goeth and sendeth unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, saying, 'The king of Moab hath transgressed against me; dost thou go with me unto Moab for battle?' and he saith, 'I go up, as I, so thou; as my people, so thy people; as my horses, so thy horses.

8 Hijou chun Jehoshaphat in adongin, “Hoiche lampi iho ding ham?” atile Joram in adonbut in, “Edom gamthip noija kona inokhum ding ahi,” ati.

And he saith, 'Where [is] this — the way we go up?' and he saith, 'The way of the wilderness of Edom.'

9 Hichun Edom lengpan jong ahin jop in, athum’un nisagi sungin gamthip noija chun avel lam in akitollun ahi.” Ahin mihem le gancha dingin twi anei tapouvin ahi.

And the king of Israel goeth, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom, and they turn round the way seven days, and there hath been no water for the camp, and for the cattle that [are] at their feet,

10 “Ipi itidiu hitam?” tin Israel lengpa chu ahung pengjah jingin ahi, “Pakaiyin hilai mun nahi Moab lengpa jovah dinga hi eihin puilut u hita hila,” ati.

and the king of Israel saith, 'Alas, for Jehovah hath called for these three kings, to give them into the hand of Moab.'

11 Ahin Judah lengpan Jehoshaphat in, “I-lah uva themgao jaolouva ham? Aumma ahileh i-iti diuham idoh theiju ahi,” ati. Joram lengpa noija lamkai khat in ahin donbut’in, “Saphat chapa Elisha chu hikom’a aume ati. Amahi Elijah noija natong ahi,” ahin tin ahi.

And Jehoshaphat saith, 'Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah, and we seek Jehovah by him?' And one of the servants of the king of Israel answereth and saith, 'Here [is] Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.'

12 Hichun Jehoshaphat in, “Ama koma hi Pakaiyin thu aseiji ahitai,” ati. Hiti chun Israelte, Judahte chule Edom leng ho chu Elisha adong din ache tauvin ahi.

And Jehoshaphat saith, 'The word of Jehovah is with him;' and go down unto him do the king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, and the king of Edom.

13 Elisha’n Israel lengpa kom’ah, “Ipi dinga kei kom’a nahung uham? Nanu le napa themgao kom’a nacheule iti ham?” ati. Hichun Israel lengpa Joram chun ahipoi, “Pakaiyin leng thum hohi Moab lengpan ajodinga eihin puilut’u ahibouve,” ati.

And Elisha saith unto the king of Israel, 'What — to me and to thee? go unto the prophets of thy father, and unto the prophets of thy mother;' and the king of Israel saith to him, 'Nay, for Jehovah hath called for these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.'

14 Elisha’n adonbut in, “Keiman kahou Hatchungnung Pakai minna kasei ahi, Judah lengpa Jehoshaphat kaja lou hileh nanghi kadonlou ding nahi,” ati.

And Elisha saith, 'Jehovah of Hosts liveth, before whom I have stood; for unless the face of Jehoshaphat king of Judah I am lifting up, I do not look unto thee, nor see thee;

15 “Koipen nahiuvem, nalah uva semjangsai them naum uvem? Ama chu kakom’a hinpuilut un,” ati. Semjang chu asai peh phat in Pakai thahatna chu Elisha chunga ahung chutan ahi leh,

and now, bring to me a minstrel; and it hath been, at the playing of the minstrel, that the hand of Jehovah is on him,

16 Aman hiti hin asei peh tan ahi, “Pakaiyin aseije, Hiche phaicham hi twi dimna twikul hung hi ding ahi.

and he saith, 'Thus said Jehovah, Make this valley ditches — ditches;

17 Nanghon huile go gin najah loudiu ahi, ahinla hiche phaicham hi twi hung dimset ding ahi. Chutengle, nanghon nangho dingle nagancha hole ganhing dangho dinga jong nanei letset diu ahi tin Pakaiyin aseije,” ati.

for thus said Jehovah, Ye do not see wind, nor do ye see rain, and that valley is full of water, and ye have drunk — ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.

18 “Ahin hiche hi Pakai dinga imacha ahipoi, ajeh chu aman Moab sepaite chunga jong gal najosah diu ahi,” ati.

'And this hath been light in the eyes of Jehovah, and he hath given Moab into your hand,

19 “Nanghon akhopiu phalai ho jouse jong chuleh kul kigetkhum hojong nalah diu, athingphung phalai jeng jong nalah diu, natuhchaidiu, atwikhuh hou jing jong nadip pehdiu agamphalai jouse jong song nadip sahdiu, nasuhmang pehdiu ahi,” ati.

and ye have smitten every fenced city, and every choice city, and every good tree ye cause to fall, and all fountains of waters ye stop, and every good portion ye mar with stones.'

20 Ajing nikhon, jingkah gan kilhaina semphat don laitah in, phulou helouvin twi ahung putdoh tan ahi. Hichu Edom lang ngan ah alongin ahi.

And it cometh to pass in the morning, at the ascending of the [morning] -present, that lo, waters are coming in from the way of Edom, and the land is filled with the waters,

21 Langkhat ah galmi thum, amaho doudin ahung kitol’e tithu Moab miten ajahdoh phat’un, amahon chempai kiko theibep chan geijin gamgi dungjui chun akigol jeng un ahi.

and all Moab have heard that the kings have come up to fight against them, and they are called together, from every one girding on a girdle and upward, and they stand by the border.

22 Ahinlah ajing jingkah in, athoudoh un ahile nisa chun twi chung chu akhon ahileh Moab mite ding chun asan in, thisan abangtan ahi.

And they rise early in the morning, and the sun hath shone on the waters, and the Moabites see, from over-against, the waters red as blood,

23 Moab miten asam’un “Hiche kho thisan ahi, galmi thumho khu amaho le amaho kithat touva ahitai - Moab mite cheu hitin athil’u gakichom uhite,” akitiuve.

and say, 'Blood this [is]; the kings have been surely destroyed, and they smite each his neighbour; and now for spoil, Moab!'

24 Ahinlah Moab mite chu Israelte ngahmun ahunglhun phat’un, Israel galmi hochu alhaidoh un amaho chu anokhum un, Moab gamgeijin ano uvin achejom’un thil jouse asubei soh jengun ahi.

And they come in unto the camp of Israel, and the Israelites rise, and smite the Moabites, and they flee from their face; and they enter into Moab, so as to smite Moab,

25 Amahon akhopi houchu asubei jun, agampha laiho jouse chu song in adip’un, atwikhuh hou asubing un, athingphung phajouse aphuh lhuh peh’un ahi. Ajona in Kir-hareseth leh asongpal ho bou akhen tauvin ahi, ahin song sep themhon aumkimvel un anokhum tauvin ahi.

and the cities they break down, and [on] every good portion they cast each his stone, and have filled it, and every fountain of water they stop, and every good tree they cause to fall — till one had left its stones in Kir-Haraseth, and the slingers go round and smite it.

26 Moab lengpan gal alal chu amudoh phat’in chemjam lamthei cheh mi jasagi toh Edom lengpa komlang chu phutvang un jamdoh agouvin ahileh ajou tapouvin ahi.

And the king of Moab seeth that the battle has been too strong for him, and he taketh with him seven hundred men, drawing sword, to cleave through unto the king of Edom, and they have not been able,

27 Hijou chun Moab lengpan achapa tahpen, ama khel a leng chang dingpa chu aman’in palchunga chun kilhaina dingin akatdoh tan ahi. Hijeh chun Israel chungah lunghanna nasatah ahung chutan ahileh Israelte akinung haijun agamlang uvah akinungle tauvin ahi.

and he taketh his son, the first-born who reigneth in his stead, and causeth him to ascend — a burnt-offering on the wall, and there is great wrath against Israel, and they journey from off him, and turn back to the land.
