He, removed the high places, and brake in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Sacred Stem, —and beat in pieces the serpent of bronze that, Moses, had made, because, until those days, had the sons of Israel been burning incense thereunto, so he called it Nehushtan.
5 Hezekiah in Pakai Israel Pathen chu ana tahsan’in ahi. Ama masang hihen anung hijongle, Judah gam lengho lah’a ama tobang koima ana umpon ahi.
In Yahweh, God of Israel, did he trust, —so that, after him, was none like him, among all the kings of Judah, nor that were before him;

9 Israel gam'a Hoshea lengpa vaihomkal kum sagi alhin in, Hezekiah lengvai hom kum alhin in, Assyria lengpa Shalmaneser chun Samaria khopi ahin um’in ahi.
And it came to pass, in the fourth year of King Hezekiah—the same, was the seventh year of Hosea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and laid siege against it;
10 Kum thum nungin, Israel lengpa Hoshea lengchan kal kum ko alhin chuleh Hezekiah lengchan kal kum gup alhin in, Samaria khopi chu pangjou talouvin alhutan ahi.
and he captured it at the end of three years, in the sixth year of Hezekiah, —the same, is the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, was Samaria captured.
11 Hichephat chun Assyria lengpan Israelte chu Assyria gam Halah mun’ah sohchang’in akoitan ahi. Hichehi Medes khopi sung Gozan munna Habon vadung pang ahi.
So the king of Assyria drave away Israel to Assyria, —and settled them in Halah, and in Habor, by the river of Gozan, and the mountains of Media:
12 Ajeh chu amahon Pakai a Pathen’u thupeh ajuinom pouvin, chuti sangin Pakai toh akitepnao asukeh’un, Pakai lhacha Mose in danho le anit diuva athupeh ho ana nitnom pouvin ahi.
because they hearkened not unto the voice of Yahweh their God, but transgressed his covenant, all that Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded, —they neither hearkened nor performed.
13 Hezekiah lengpa leng chankal kum som le li alhin in, Assyria lengpa Sennacherib ahungkon’in Judah khopi kulpi kigensa khopi hojouse chu ahin nokhum in, abonin alatan ahi.
And, in the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, came up Sennacherib king of Assyria, against all the fortified cities of Judah, and took them.
14 Hezekiah lengpan Lachish munna um Assyria lengpa kom’a hitihin thu athot’in, “Keiman kabol kheltai, gal bol na ngah a nakinungle kit poupouleh, ijat hijongleh nangin na-ngeh chan kai pejeng tange,” ati. Assyria lengpan kinopto thei lhonna dingin dangka ton somle khat chuleh sana ton khat angeh’in ahi.
Then sent Hezekiah king of Judah unto the king of Assyria, to Lachish, saying—I have sinned, Return from me, What thou shalt lay upon me, I will bear. So the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah, three hundred talents of silver, and thirty talents of gold.
15 Hijat suhbulhit nading in, Hezekiah lengpan Pakai houin’a dangka kikoi jouse leh leng inpi’a sumle pai jouse jong achomkhom’in ahi.
And Hezekiah delivered up all the silver that was found in the house of Yahweh, and in the treasuries of the house of the king.
16 Hezekiah lengpan Pakai houin kot tomna’a ananei sana hochu akhoh lhan chuleh kot khom ho chunga kiloi sana hojong chu akhoh lhan Assyria lengpa chu apetan ahi.
At that time, Hezekiah cut off the doors of the temple of Yahweh, and the columns, which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, —and gave them unto the king of Assyria.
17 Ahijing vang'in Assyria lengpan asepai lamkai lenpen patoh, galmunna lamkaipa ahin asepai lamkaiho pipui chunga apipuipa chutoh Lachish akonin, sepai tamtah toh Jerusalem’a Hezekiah lengpa toh kimaito dingin asollin ahi. Assyria mite hin sahlang twikulla twikilhutna pang chuleh pon kisopna mun na kithunglutna lamlen kom’a chun adingun ahi.
And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rab-saris and Rab-shakeh, from Lachish unto King Hezekiah, with a heavy force to Jerusalem, —so they came up and drew near to Jerusalem, and took their stand by the upper channel of the pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field.
18 Amahon Hezekiah lengpa chu kimupi dingin akouvun ahileh amaho toh kimu toding anoija natong ho Hilkiah chapa Eliakim, leng inpia vaihompa, thutanna munna lekhasun pu Shebna chuleh lengte thusim chinpa Asaph chapa Joah hocheng chu ana sollin ahi.
Then called they for the king, and there went out unto them Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, —and Shebnah, the scribe, and Joah son of Asaph, the recorder.
19 Hiche jouchun, Assyria lengpa noija lamkai pipuipa chun Hezekiah thuthot ana neiyin, “Hichehi Assyria leng lenpa amatah kamcheng ahi, ‘Koipen natahsan a, koipen nakisonpi hitia hi lung olmo lou hella naum ham?” ati.
And Rab-shakeh said unto them—Pray you, say unto Hezekiah, —Thus, saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What trust is this wherewith thou dost trust?
20 “Nangin thu homkeova hi sepai galsat thepna le athahat na ho akhel thei dia natasah ham? Koipen chunga naki-ngaiya keima nei dou jeng ham?
Thou hast said—they are only words of the lips!—Counsel and might [have I] for the war. Now, in whom dost thou trust, that thou hast rebelled against me?
21 Ole Egypt chunga nakisonpi ham? Egypt chunga nakingai ahileh hiche Egypt khu peng tenggol natahsa gih in atouchip’a nakhut asuhvang tobangbep hiding ahi. Egypt lengpa Pharaoh hi kingaina thei hilou hel ahi,” ati.
Now, lo! thou dost trust thyself on the support of this bruised cane, on Egypt, whereon, if a man lean, it will enter his hand and lay it open, —so, is Pharaoh king of Egypt, to all who trust upon him.
22 “Ahin nangin kakom’a, Keiho Pakai ka Pathen uva kingai kahi nati diu ahi, ahinla Amachu Hezekiah in noise tah’a anabol hilouham? Judah gam le Jerusalem mite Jerusalem maicham phungseh a bou Pathen houdia seipeh a, Pakai doiphung jouse le maicham ho sumang pa Hezekiah hilou ham?” ati.
But, if ye should say unto me, In Yahweh our God, do we trust, Then is that not he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath removed, and said unto Judah, and unto Jerusalem—Before this altar, shall ye bow down, in Jerusalem?
23 “Keima naseipeh uvinge! KaPakaipa Assyria lengpa hitoh kinoptona bol lhon’in, nangin mi naneijou dingleh sakol sangni na penge.
Now, therefore, pledge thyself, I pray thee, with my lord, the king of Assyria, —that I supply thee with two thousand horses, if thou, on thy part, be able to set riders upon them.
24 Hitobang sepai honlhomcha khat’a hi, kapupa sepaihon ahatmopen jeng jonghi nachou-ngam ding hinam? Egypt sakol kangtalai holeh kangtalai touthem hotoh kitho jongle chun i-nalo ding ham?
How then wilt thou turn back the face of one pasha of the least of my lord’s servants? Or hast thou, on thy part, trusted to Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
25 Tua hi ipimong mong nagel ham, nagam kahin nokhum’u jong hi, Pakaiyin eihin sollu ahi nahet lou u-ham? Gamsung khu ganokhum’unlang gasumang’un tia, Pakai amatah chun eiseipeh lou uva nagel uham?” ati.
Now, is it, without Yahweh, that I have come up against this place, to destroy it? Yahweh himself, said unto me, Go thou up against this land, and destroy it.
26 Hichun Hilkiah chapa Eliakim, Shebna le Joah chun Syria gal lamkai pipuipa kom’achun, “Lungset tah in keiho kom’ah Aramaic paovin neiseipeh’un, hichu keihon jong phaten apao chu kahe nauve. Hebrew paovin neiseipeh hih un, ajeh chu pal chung’a mipi hohin jakha get unte,” atiuve.
Then said Eliakim son of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Joah, unto Rab-shakeh: Speak, we pray thee, unto thy servants in the, Syrian, language, for, we, can, understand, it, —and do not speak with us in, the Jews’, language, in the ears of the people who are upon the wall.
27 Ahinlah sepai lamkai pipui Sennacherib chun ahin donbut’in, “KaPakai pauvin hiche thuhi napupau leh nangho chengseh jah dinga eiseisah uva nagellu ham? Mijousen ajah ding hi aman adei ahi. Ajeh chu hiche khopi hi kalah tenguleh amaho jong nangho toh thohgim thadiu ahi. Genthei jeh'a gilkel behseh tengle a-eh anehdiu chuleh dangchah behseh teng le ajun’u adondiu ahi.
But Rab-shakeh said unto them—Is it, concerning thy lord, and concerning thee, that my lord hath sent me to speak these things? Is it not concerning the men who are tarrying upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung and drink their own water with you?
28 Hichun sepai lamkai pipuipa chun pal chunga um mipiho hetdingin Hebrew paovin asap in asap thon, Assyria leng lenpa thupeh hi ngaijun,
So then Rab-shakeh took his stand, and cried out with a loud voice, in, the Jews’, language, —and spake, and said, Hear ye the message of the great king, the king of Assyria: —
29 “Lengpan aseichu hiche ahi, Hezekiah chu kilhep lhahsah hih un. Aman itinama jongleh keima thaneina-a konin nahuhdoh joupou vinte.
Thus, saith the king: Let not Hezekiah deceive you, for he shall not he able to deliver you out of his hand;
30 Aman nangho Pakai tahsan dingin kilhep lhahsah hihun, Pakaiyin eihuhdoh teidiu ahi, hiche tehohi Assyria lengpa khutna lutlou helding ahi atiu chu tahsan hih un.
Neither let Hezekiah cause you to trust in Yahweh, saying, Yahweh, will, certainly deliver, us, —this city, therefore, shall not be given over into the hand of the king of Assyria.
31 Hezekiah thusei tahsan hih un, Assyria lengpan nangho napehnom’u kitepna chu hichehi ahi. Keitoh chamna sem’un, khopi kelkot hi hong’unlang hung potdoh’un. Achutileh nanghon nalengpithei’u leh nathei chang’u nakinehdiu, chuleh na tuikul uva nakidondiu ahi.
Do not hearken unto Hezekiah, —for, thus, saith the king of Assyria, Deal with me thankfully, and come out unto me, then shall ye eat—every one of his own vine, and every one of his own fig-tree, and drink every one the waters of his own cistern;
32 Chutengleh keiman nangho hiche tobang gamchom khatna kapohlut diu, changphat nale lengpithei phatna changlhah leh lengpithei phatna, olive thingle khoiju lonna munna kapuilut ding nahiuve. Thina sang’in hinkho kilhen joh un! Hezekiah in Pakaiyin eihuhdoh diu ahi atia nalhep lhah got’u chu tahsan hih un,
Until I come and take you, into a land like your own land—A land of corn and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and honey, so shall ye live, and not die, —But do not hearken unto Hezekiah, for he would persuade you, saying, Yahweh, will deliver us!
33 Koipen nam apathen’un Assyria lengpa khut’a ahuhdoh nahetkhah uvem?
Have, the gods of the nations, at all delivered, any one of them, his country, out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
34 Hamath khopi le Arpad khopi teni pathen in ipi abolthei beh am? geldoh un, chuleh Sephervaim khopi, Hena khopi leh Ivvah khopi teho pathen ipi atohdoh beham? Koi pathen in kathahat na a kona Samariah ahuhdoh beham?
Where are the gods of Hamath, and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena and Ivvah? Yea, did they deliver Samaria out of my hand?
35 Itobang nammite Pathen in kathaneina akona amite ahuhdoh beh am? Achutile ipi pentah chun Pakaiyin Jerusalem hi ka khut akona ahhuhing jou dia nagelsah mong’u ahidem?
Who are they, among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country, out of my hand, —that, Yahweh, should deliver, Jerusalem, out of my hand?
36 Ahinlah mipite chu Hezekiah in, “Thipbeh un donbut hih un,” tia thu apeh dungjuijun athipbeh un, koimacha apaopoh aumpou vin ahi.
But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word, —for, the command of the king, it was, saying—Ye must not answer him.
37 Hijou chun leng inpia vaihompa Hilkiah chapa Eliakim thutanna'a lekhasun Shebna chuleh thusimbu chingpa Asaph chapa Joah chu Hezekiah kom’ah acheuvin lungimtah in asangkhol abot-eh un, hiti chun lengpa kimupin acheuvin, Assyria sepai lamkai pipuipa thusei chu aseipeh tauvin ahi.
Then came in Eliakim son of Hilkiah who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah son of Asaph the recorder, unto Hezekiah, with rent clothes, —and they told him the words of Rab-shakeh.
