1 Judah gam’ah Joash lengpan vaihom kum somni le thum lhin kum’in, Jehu chapa Jehoahaz in Israel gam’ah lengvai ahin hompan in ahi. Amahin Samaria gamsung ah kum somel sagi vai ana hom in ahi.
In the twenty-third year of Joas son of Ochozias king of Juda began Joachaz the son of Ju to reign in Samaria, [and he reigned] seventeen years.
2 Ahinlah aman Pathen mitmu’n thilse jing anabolin ahi. Aman Nebat chapa Jeroboam in Israelte ana chonset sah bang bangin Jeroboam chondan jouse chu ana juitan ahi.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked after the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who led Israel to sin; he departed not from them.
3 Hijeh chun Pakai chu Israel chunga ana lunghang lheh jingin ahi, hijehchun Syria lengpa Hazael leh achapa Benhadad chu Israelte avel vellin ana josah in ahi.
And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and delivered them into the hand of Azael king of Syria, and into the hand of the son of Ader son of Azael, all their days.
4 Hijou chun Jehoahaz chu Pakai kom’ah ana taovin panpina anathum’in ahileh, Syria lengpan Israelte chu ana ha suhgenthei val jeh chun Pakaiyin ataona anasangin ahi.
And Joachaz implored the Lord, and the Lord listened to him, for he saw the affliction of Israel, because the king of Syria afflicted them.
5 Hijeh chun Pakaiyin mikhat asollin Israelte chu Syria te suhgentheina a konin aga huhdohsah tan ahi. Hijou chun Israelte chu tumasanga bangin lungmongin ana cheng tauvin ahi.
And the Lord gave deliverance to Israel, and they escaped from under the hand of Syria: and the children of Israel lived in their tents as heretofore.
6 Ahinlah Jeroboam umchan ala uvin ana chonse jom kitji uvin ahi. Amahon Samaria a um Asherah doiphung jong chu ana kitunsah jing nalai uvin ahi.
Only they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who led Israel to sin: they walked in them—moreover the grove also remained in Samaria.
7 Ajona in Jehoahaz sepaiho jong ahung alhomlheh tan, sakol kangtalai touthem som nga, sakol kangtalai som nga chujongleh keng sepai sangsom bou ahitan ahi. Adangse chu Syria sepaiten ana thagam’u ahitan akeng uva vutvai bang’a ana chotpha gam u ahitai.
Whereas there was not left any army to Joachaz, except fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand infantry: for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and they made them as dust for trampling.
8 Jehoahaz vaihom sunga thilsohho, ama natohdoh le thilbol ho chule athanei naho chu Israelte lengho thusim kijihna thusimbua aki jih lut tan ahi.
And the rest of the acts of Joachaz, and all that he did, and his mighty acts [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
9 Jehoahaz athiphat’in Samaria gamah avui tauvin ahi. Ama jouvin Jehoash in leng mun ahinlo tan ahi.
And Joachaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria: and Joas his son reigned in his stead.
10 Judah gam’ah Joash lengpa vaihom kum somthum le sagi lhinin, Israel gamah Jehoash in lengvai ahin hom pan tan ahi. Aman Samaria gamsung ah kum somle gup sungin lengvai ana hom in ahi.
In the thirty-seventh year of Joas king of Juda, Joas the son of Joachaz began to reign over Israel in Samaria sixteen years.
11 Ahinlah amahin Pakai mitmu’n thilse jing ana bollin Nebat chapa Jeroboam in Israelte ana chonset sahna akona chu kilehei ding ana nompon ahi.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord; he departed not from all the sin of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who led Israel to sin: he walked in it.
12 Jehoash vaihom sunga thilsohho jouse leh aman anatohdoh holeh athaneina chengeija anatoh ho chuleh Judah lengpa Amaziah toh gal ana kisatto naho abonchan Israelte lengho thusimbu kijihna lekhabua abonchan akijih lut soh keijin ahi.
And the rest of the acts of Joas, and all that he did, and his mighty acts which he performed together with Amessias king of Juda, [are] not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
13 Jehoash athiphat’in Israel lengho kivuina Samaria munah chun anavui tauvin ahi. Hiche jouchun achapa Jeroboam ni na in lengvai ahinpo pan tan ahi.
And Joas slept with his fathers, and Jeroboam sat upon his throne, and he was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
14 Elisha chu athikon natna jalkhun a aumjinglai ahin, Israel lengpa Jehoash in agavil’in aga ka khum’in, “Hepa! Hepa! Israelte kangtalai tou them holeh akangtalai hou kamun ahi!” tin akakhum in ahileh,
Now Elisaie was sick of his sickness, whereof he died: and Joas king of Israel went down to him, and wept over his face, and said, [My] father, [my] father, the chariot of Israel, and the horseman thereof!
15 Elisha’n ajaha, “Thalpi khat le thal chang phabep gakilah tan,” ati, hijehchun aman jong thalpi khat le thalchang phabep agakilah in ahi.
And Elisaie said to him, Take bow and arrows. And he took to himself a bow and arrows.
16 Elisha’n ajah a, “Thalpi kisadoh tem’in,” atia ahileh amanjong akisadoh kittai. Hichun Elisha’n lengpa khut teni chunga chun ama khut tenin atuh in,
And he said to the king, Put your hand on the bow. And Joas put his hand upon [it]: and Elisaie put his hands upon the king's hands.
17 Hitin aseitai, “Nisolam a bangkot chu hongdoh tan,” atileh amanjong ahongdoh tai. Chujouvin Elisha’n, “Kap jeng tan,” atileh aman thal changkhat akaptai. Hichun Elisha’n jong, “Hiche chu Pakai thalchang ahi, Syria mite chunga galjona thalchang ahi, ajeh chu nangin Syria mite chu Aphek munna nasuh gamhel ding ahi,” tin aphongdoh tai.
And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. And Elisaie said, Shoot. And he shot. And [Elisaie] said, The arrow of the Lord's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; and you shall strike the Syrians in Aphec until you have consumed them.
18 Chuin Elisha’n jong aseikti in, “Tun nangin thalchang dangho chu kilah in lang tol chu jeptan,” ati. Hichun lengpan jong thalchang chun tol chu thumvei ajeptai.
And Elisaie said to him, Take bow and arrows. And he took them. And [he] said to the king of Israel, Strike upon the ground. And the king struck three times, and stayed.
19 Ahin Pathen mipa chu achung’ah alunghang lheh jing in, “Nangin tol chu nga vei ahilouleh gup vei najep ding ahi,” tin aman asamjah jeng tan ahi. “Chutileh nangin Syria mite chu nasuhmang hel ding ahi. Tunvang nangin thumvei bou najo ding ahitai,” ati.
And the man of God was grieved at him, and said, If you had struck five or six times, then you should have struck Syria till you had consumed them; but now you shall strike Syria [only] thrice.
20 Hichun Elisha athin ahileh ana vui tauvin ahi. Hichelai chun Moab sepaiten chavang lai seh leh Israelte chu gal in ahin nokhum jingkei uve.
And Elisaie died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites came into the land, at the beginning of the year.
21 Khatvei hi Israelte phabep in mithi khat hi anavui un ahileh hiche minokhum sepai hochu amu uvin, amaho jong kino tah in mithipa tahsa chu Elisha kivuina lhan sung’a chun alehlut un ajamdoh tauvin ahi. Ahin mithi long chun Elisha guchu atohkhah phat’in ahung hingdoh in, akengah ahung dingdoh kit tan ahi.
And it came to pass as they were burying a man, that behold, they saw a band [of men], and they cast the man into the grave of Elisaie: and as soon as he touched the bones of Elisaie, he revived and stood up on his feet.
22 Jehoahaz lengpa vaihomlai sungsen Syria lengpa Hazael in Israelte hi ana ha suhgenthei lheh jengin ahi.
And Azael greatly afflicted Israel all the days of Joachaz.
23 Ahin Pakai chun Israelte alungset le akhotona jeh'in, abon'in asuhmang sah deh poi. Abraham, Isaac chule Jacob toh akitepna jal chun anapanpi jing nai. Hiti chun aman tuni changeijin amaho hi abonin asumang pon chuleh ama angsunga konin jong apaimang chomdeh pon ahi.
And the Lord had mercy and compassion upon them, and had respect to them because of his covenant with Abraam, and Isaac, and Jacob; and the Lord would not destroy them, and did not cast them out from his presence.
24 Syria lengpa Hazael athitan ahileh achapa Benhadad in ama khellin lengmun alotan ahi.
And Azael king of Syria died, and the son of Ader his son reigned in his stead.
25 Jehoashpa Jehoahaz akona analah peh’u khopi hochu Jehoash in Hazael chapa Benhadad na konin akile lahdoh kittan ahi. Jehoash in Benhadad chu thum veijin anajouvin Israel khopi hochu anakile lahdoh gamtan ahi.
And Joas the son of Joachaz returned, and took the cities out of the hand of the son of Ader the son of Azael, which he had taken out of the hand of Joachaz his father in the war: thrice did Joas strike him, and he recovered the cities of Israel.
