< 2 Thusimbu 12 >
1 Ahinlah Rehoboam chun dettah’a lengam atundoh’a chule thanei tah ahung hijou phat chun amale mipite jouse chun Pakai dan thu chu anungsun tauvin ahi.
And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.
2 Pakai adinga kitahna aneitahlou jeh uchun Rehoboam Leng chan kal kum nga lhin kum chun, Egypt lengpa Shishak chun Jerusalem ahin bullutan ahi.
And it came to pass, [that] in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,
3 Sakol kangtalai sangkhat le jani toh sakol sepai sang somgup toh chule Libya mite, sukmite chule Ethiopia mite jaonan keng sepai simkon lou chun ahung konnun ahi.
With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people [were] without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
4 Shishak chun kulpi kigen Judah khopi ho chu alonkhum in, chuin Jerusalem lam changei chun amano kitnun aga bullu uvin ahi.
And he took the fenced cities which [pertained] to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
5 Chuin Shemaiah themgaopa chu Rehoboam le Judah te milen milal ho Shishak kichat jeh’a kikhom ho koma chun ahungin, Pakai in hitihin aseije, “Nanghon keima neinung sun tah jeh uva chu, keiman jong tua hi nangho hi Shishak koma kadalhah nahitaove,” ati.
Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and [to] the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.
6 Chuin Israel milen hole lengpa chu ahung kineo sah un, “Pakai in ichunguva abol hiche hi adih e,” atiuvin ahi.
Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD [is] righteous.
7 Pakaiyin amaho ahung kineosah’u amu phatnin, Shemiah koma thu hiche hi aseije, “Amaho ahung kineosah tah jeh uchun kasuhmang lou diu ahitai, hiti ahijeh chun gangtah’a ahuhdoh diu kahin solpeh diu ahi,” ati.
And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; [therefore] I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
8 Keiman Shishak mangcha’a Jerusalem chunga kalungsatna kabuh lhah louhel ding ahitai.
Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
9 Egypt lengpa Shishak chun Jerusalem abulua chu Pakai Houin thil hojouse le leng inpi a thilho chu, ana kipoh mang ahitai. Aman Solomon in sana’a asem kidalna pho jaona athil ho jouse chu ana kilah doh gam ahitai.
So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
10 Rehoboam lengpa chun Leng inpi lutna kotngah ho, sepai lamkai ho chu sana’a kisem kidalna pho khella sum enga pho, asem dingun anganse tan ahi.
Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed [them] to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king’s house.
11 Pakai, Houin a lengpa ache phat le ama ngah’a pang ho chun kidalna pho achoi jiuva kilhon khom jiova, chule amaho umna inchanna chu hung kile lhon kitji ahiuve.
And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.
12 Rehoboam amachama ahung kineosah tahjeh chun Pakai lunghanna chu ama-akonin akihei mang tan, hijeh chun ama chu akisumang hel tapoi. Atahbeh’a seiding chun Judah gamsunga thilpha khat ahung umdohtan ahi.
And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy [him] altogether: and also in Judah things went well.
13 Leng Rehoboam chu ama le ama Jeruesalem a akitung det kitnin, chuin aleng hina abanjom kittan ahi. Lenga ahung pan chun ama tahsa kum chu kum somli le khat ana hin, Pakai in amin loupi koina dinga Israel phung jouse lah’a ana lhentum Jerusalem khopia achun kum somle sagi vai ana homin ahi. Anu chu Amon mi Naamah kitinu chu ahi.
So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam [was] one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name [was] Naamah an Ammonitess.
14 Ahinlah alungthim pumpia Pakai ahol lou jeh chun Rehoboam chu leng phalou tah khat ana hin ahi.
And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.
15 Rehoboam Lengvai poh tilla patna achaina chan geija thilsoh adangho chu Themgao Shemiah lekhabu le mitva neipa Iddo lekhabua chun akisun lut soh keijin ahi.
Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, [are] they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And [there were] wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
16 Rehoboam athiphat chun David khopia chun akivui tai, chuin achapa Abijah chu ama bantah in Leng ahung hitan ahi.
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.
