Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain on Mount Gilboa.
2 Philistine miten Saul le achapa teho jong adelphapa uvin, achapa thum Jonathan, Abinadab, chule Malkishua jong athat tauve.
The Philistines overtook Saul and his sons; and the Philistines killed Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
3 Saul panmun kimvel’a jong gal akihasat lheh jengun, akhona in thalpi kapthem hon akap kha’un, melsetah in amavo uvin ahi.
The battle went hard against Saul, and the archers overtook him; and he was greatly distressed by reason of the archers.
4 Chuin Saul in agalvon popa jah ah, “Nachemjam satdoh inlang neithat in hiche Philistine Pathen helou ho ahung uva eimoh sutlih sang un,” ati. Ahinla agalvonpopa akichan athat ngampon ahi. Chuin Saul in jong ama chemjam asatdoh in, achemjam chu abokhum in amale ama akithat tai.
Then Saul said to his armour bearer, “Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through and abuse me!” But his armour bearer would not, for he was terrified. Therefore Saul took his sword and fell on it.
5 Chuin agalvon popan Saul athitai ti ahetdoh phat in achemjam asatdoh in alhuh khum in alengpa komah amajong athi tan ahi.
When his armour bearer saw that Saul was dead, he likewise fell on his sword, and died with him.
6 Hitichun Saul, achapa thumho, chule agalvon popa, abonchauvin nikhat sung in athi soh hel tauvin ahi.
So Saul died with his three sons, his armour bearer, and all his men that same day together.
7 Jezreel phaicham agal langkhat, Jordan vadung niso lam’a Israelten, Israel sepaite ho galjam gam tauve tithu ajahdoh uva, Saul le achapa teho jong athat taove ti ajah phat un, akhopi hou adalhauvin ahile Philistine miten akhopi sung uva alut un khopi u chu alo tauvin ahi.
When the men of Israel who were on the other side of the valley, and those who were beyond the Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled and that Saul and his sons were dead, they abandoned the cities and fled; and the Philistines came and lived in them.
8 Ajing nikho in Philistine miten mithilong ho hetup dinga ahung uleh Gilboa mol chunga Saul le achapate thumho le agalvon popa, alongu ahung mudoh un ahi.
On the next day, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, they found Saul and his three sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.
9 Chuin Saul alu atan uvin agalvon chengtoh apotauve, Saul thi jeh in Philistine gamsung jouse le a pathen hounau houin’ah kipa thuphon aneiyun ahi.
They cut off his head, stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines all around, to carry the news to the house of their idols and to the people.
10 Saul galvon chu amilim doi ahounao Ashteroth kiti houin sung ah akoijun chule atahsa chu Beth-shan kiti khopi sunga bang ah akhaiyun ahi.
They put his armour in the house of the Ashtaroth, and they fastened his body to the wall of Beth Shan.
11 Ahinlah Jabesh-gilead miten jong, Philistine miten Saul abolnao ajah phat un,
When the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead heard what the Philistines had done to Saul,

all the valiant men arose, went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth Shan; and they came to Jabesh and burnt them there.
13 Chujouvin agu ho chu alauvin Jabesh khoa Tamarisk thingphung noiyah avui uivn, chule ni sagi jen apuldou nan an angol uvin ahi.
They took their bones and buried them under the tamarisk tree in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
