< 1 Samuel 25 >

1 Tun Samuel athitan ahile Israel mite jouse avui dingin ahung kikhom un, athilong chu a-op uvin, Ramah khoa a-inah avui tauvin ahi. Hichun David chu Maon gamthip ah akumsuh tan ahi.
Samuel died; and all Israel gathered themselves together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Maon.
2 Maon a kon neile gou tampi neiyah mihaothei tah khat Carmel khopia kiveina bol mi khat aum in ahi. Amachun kelngoi sang thum chule kelcha sangkhat aneiyin ahi chule hiche phatlai chu kelmulvo phatlai ahi.
There was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.
3 Hiche mipa min chu Nabal akitin, ajinu min chu Abigail akitin ahi, Ajinu chu numei chingtah ahin, thil umdan hekhen themtah jong ahin, amel jong melhoi tah ahi. Ajipa vang chu Caleb phungmi, umdan, chondan helou mi ahin, agiloutah a chon jeng ahi.
Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail. And the woman was intelligent and beautiful, but the man was harsh and evil in his dealings; and the man was a Calebite.
4 Nabal kitipa hin kelngoi avah’e ti hi David in ahedoh tan ahi.
David heard in the wilderness that Nabal was shearing his sheep.
5 Hijeh chun David in gollhang somkhat asolin Nabal henga thuthot le salam gabol din asol in ahi.
So David sent ten young men, and said to the young men, "Go up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name.
6 Hichun gollhangho chun, “Chamna le khantouna nangle na insunga chule naneile nanga chengse chunga umhen!” atiuvin ahi.
Thus you are to say to my brother, 'Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.
7 “Nangman kelngoi mulvou ding miho chu keiho Carmel koma nakoiye ti kajan, keihon suh gentheina ima kanei pouve chule amahoa kon in jong ima guhle lah kanei pouve.
And now, look, I have heard that you have shearers. Now your shepherds have been with us in the wilderness, and we did not hurt them, neither was there anything missing from them, all the while they were in Carmel.
8 Namiteho dong jong le chun adihtah chu naseipeh nauvinte. Golvah nikho khatle kahung diu ahin, kipah tah a neisan diu David in adeiye. Lungset tah in napeh thei thei neipeuvin, nalhacha keiho le nagol ngaitah keima David min in,” ati.
Ask your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore let the young men find favor in your eyes; for we come in a good day. Please give whatever comes to your hand, to your servants, and to your son David.'"
9 David gollhangho chun David minin hicheng chu Nabal henga alhut uvin chule amahon Nabal donbutna angahuvin ahi.
So the young men came and spoke to Nabal according to all those words on David's behalf, but he behaved arrogantly.
10 Nabal in jong noise tah in, “David kitipa chu koi hija ham? Hiche Jesse chapa hin ama le ama ipia kigel ham? Tulaiya hi soh tamtah apakai teu henga konna jam mang atam e.
Nabal answered David's servants, and said, "Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants who break away from their masters these days.
11 Achutile, iti keiman kakelngoi mulvou’a pangho kathapeh kelngoi-sa, a twidon ding u chule aneh diu kachanglhah jouse hi kalah peh’a, kahetphah lou gam'a hungkon miho chu kapeh beh ding hija ham?” ati pen tai.
Shall I then take my bread, and my wine, and my meat that I have slaughtered for the shearers of my sheep, and give it to men who I do not know where they come from?"
12 Hichun David gollhangho chu ahung kinunglen, Nabal in asei jouse chu David heng’ah alhut tauvin ahi.
So David's young men turned on their way, and went back, and came and told him according to all these words.
13 Chuin David in, “Nachemjam kigotun,” atin, hichun mi jali toh akilhon’un, chule mi jali anunglam uva thilkeo ngah din adalha uvin ahi.
David said to his men, "Every man put on his sword." So every man put on his sword. David also put on his sword. About four hundred men followed David; and two hundred stayed by the baggage.
14 Hichun Nabal soh ho lah-a mi khat in Abigail aga hetsah in, “David in gamthip gam'a konin gollhangho kapu koma salam boldin asollin ahileh anaphoh sal in,
But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, "Look, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to greet our master; and he railed at them.
15 Gollhang ho chu keiho dinga phattah ahiuve, keihon amahoa kon in hahsatna imacha katoh khapouve, kaum khom sung uvin jong keihoa konin imacha alahdoh-u jong aumpoi.
But the men were very good to us, and we were not hurt, nor did we miss anything as long as we went with them, when we were in the fields.
16 Sunle jan in keihole kelngoiho ding in baang bang in eihong jing un, eingah tup jinguve.
They were a wall to us both by night and by day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.
17 Hiche thu hohi nangman nahet chet angaiye chule ipi bolding ham ti nagel angaiye, ajeh chu ka pakai pa le ainsung mite jousea ding’a thil hahsa hungsoh ding in akilome. Amala alungtong lheh inkoimacha to kihou tehi ahipoi,” ati.
Now therefore know and consider what you will do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his house; for he is such a worthless fellow that one can't speak to him."
18 Hichun Abigail gangtah in changlhah lhon jani akigot in, lengpitwi savun peng ni dimset agongin, honminsa kelngoi nga akigot in, changpoh kana atena dim nga agon, lengpithei changlhah boh jakhat toh, theichang changlhah a kisem jani, hciheng hi, amanun sangan chungah asem in,
Then Abigail hurried and took two hundred loaves of bread, two bottles of wine, five sheep ready dressed, five measures of parched grain, one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on donkeys.
19 Asohte jah ah, “Anache masauvin, keiman kahin juipai ding nahiuve,” ati.
She said to her young men, "Go on before me. Look, I come after you." But she did not tell her husband.
20 Abigail chu asangan chunga atouvin molchunga akaltouvin, aman David le amite ama langa-a ahung chu amun ahi.
It was so, as she rode on her donkey, and came down by the covert of the mountain, that look, David and his men came down toward her; and she met them.
21 David in, “Hiche Nabal kitipa gancha jouse chu keiman khatcha beh jong manthah sah louva gammang noija kachinpeh chu pan nabeija kabol dan ahitai, tun Nabal in kathilpha bol jouse thilsen eihin lethoh pehtai.
Now David had said, "Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow has in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained to him. He has returned me evil for good.
22 Jingkah teng Nabal mi ahi kiti tapou pasal khatna khat jeng cha jong hinghoi louva katha gam louva ahile, Pakaiyin keima David hi eithat jeng hen,” tin aseitai.
God do so to David, and more also, if I leave of all that belongs to him by the morning light so much as one who urinates on a wall."
23 Abigail in David amu phat’in, asangan chunga kon in akumlhan amasang ah akunin abohkhup’in jana apen ahi.
When Abigail saw David, she hurried, and got off from her donkey, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground at his feet.
24 Akengphang bul’a abohkhup in ajah-a, “ka pakai thilsoh hicheng hohi keima themmo na ahijenge, chule nahenga kasei hi, neingaipeh-in.
And she said, "On me, my lord, be the guilt; and please let your servant speak to you directly, and hear the words of your servant.
25 Hiche Nabal hi milungtong le mipha ahipoi, thupitah in lahih-in, ajeh chu amahi mingol ahibouve amin tobang banga amajong hija ahi. Ahinla kapun nahinsol gollhangho chu nasoh nun kana mulou ahi,” ati.
Please do not let my lord regard this worthless fellow, for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; but I, your servant, did not see the young men whom you sent.
26 “Tujeng injong Pakai hingjing mina kasei ahi, kapu jong nahin laihin Pakaiyin thisan so’a themmo sahna ding jousea nahoidoh sah ahitan, nakhut tah’a phu nalah ding jong aphal lousa ahitai, hijeh chun suhset ding thadinga nahola namelmate jouse chu Nabal tobang hisoh kei uhen.
Now therefore, my lord, as YHWH lives, and as your soul lives, since YHWH has withheld you from blood guiltiness, and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now therefore let your enemies, and those who seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.
27 Nasoh nu keiman hiche nangma le nagollhang ho neh le chah dia kahin poh hi kapu neisanpeh tei teiyin.
Now this present which your servant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.
28 Nasohnu hi ipi hile kathemmona aumleh abonchan nei ngaidam in. Pakai dia galsat nahijeh in Pakaiyin nang le nachilhahte lenga natun jing uhen chule nahinkho lhumkeiyin thilse bolda jeng in,” ati.
Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For YHWH will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights the battles of YHWH; and evil shall not be found in you all your days.
29 “Midang hon thading in hung kipat u henlang, nahol hol jeng jong leu, kapu nahinkho hi Pakai na Pathen in nei le gou manlu tah bangin naven tup jing in ahi. Ahin namelma teho jouse gophel a songchang kikap mang bang’a akap mang ding ahi.
Though men may rise up to pursue you, and to seek your soul, yet the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with YHWH your God. He will sling out the souls of your enemies, as from the hollow of a sling.
30 Chujong le nachung chang thudola Pakaiyin aseisa jouse chu kapu dinga nabolpeh soh keiya, Israel chunga lenga natun tengle,
It shall come to pass, when YHWH has done to my lord according to all the good that he has spoken concerning you, and shall have appointed you prince over Israel,
31 Hitobang hohi hi nolna bei nahina chu kipuisetsah hihin. Chutile ajeh beiya mitha jeh ham ahiloule nangin naphu nakilah jeh ham a nalung gimpi lou ding ahi. Chuleh Pakaiyin kapu nang ma chung’a phatecha-a nainchen sah tengle, nasohnu keijong neihin geldoh tei teiyin,” ati.
that this will have no cause of grief or a troubled conscience for my lord, that blood was shed without cause and that my lord has gained victory by his own hand. And when YHWH has done well with my lord, then remember your servant."
32 David in Abgail adonbutin, “Tunia Israel Pathen in keito kimuto dinga nahinsol jeh in, Pakai chu thangvah in umhen!
David said to Abigail, "Blessed is YHWH, the God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me.
33 Thil nahet them jeh in Pathen thangvah in umhen! Nangma jong phatthei chang in, ajeh chun nangman tuni hin kathemmona ding thisan kaso’a keile kei phulah na’a kakhut kalap nadinga konin nei huhdoh tai.
Blessed is your discretion, and blessed are you, that have kept me this day from blood guiltiness, and from avenging myself with my own hand.
34 Pakai Israel Pathen min a kasei ahi, Pakaiyin nangho eisuhsetda sah ahitai, neihung kimupi loi hih le chu, jingkhovah masang’a Nabal mite khat a khatcha kahinghoi loud ing kathagam heldiu ahitai,” ati.
For indeed, as YHWH, the God of Israel, lives, who has withheld me from hurting you, unless you had hurried and come to meet me, surely there wouldn't have been left to Nabal by the morning light so much as one who urinates on a wall."
35 Hichun David in jong athilpeh chengse akisan in, chule amanu jah-ah, “Lungmong tah-in na-inlama chetan, keiman nathusei kangai peh in, na inneipu jong katha lou ding ahitai,” ati.
So David received of her hand that which she had brought him: and he said to her, "Go up in peace to your house. Look, I have listened to your voice, and have granted your request."
36 Hitichun Abigail ahungkile kitna ain agalhun phat in, Nabal chun ainsungah lengpa golvah ni bangin kut anabollin ahi. Ama chu ju hakham in akhamin, hijeh chun amanun jong ajing jingkah changeiyin David toh akimuto thujong aseipeh tapoi.
Abigail came to Nabal; and look, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king. Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunk. Therefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.
37 Jingkah khovah lhah’a Nabal jong ajukhamna akonna hung limdoh phat in, ajinun thilsoh umchan jouse chu abonchan aseipeh tan ahileh atija behseh jeng in, alung sunga alung achat tapon, songtum bangin akitung dentai.
It happened in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, that his wife told him these things, and his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.
38 Nisom jouvin, Pakaiyin Nabal chu adeng in, athipai pai tai.
It happened about ten days after, that YHWH struck Nabal, so that he died.
39 David in Nabal thi ajah phat in, “Pakai thangvah in umhen, Nabal khutna kona jumsona hiche Nabal chunga phu eilah peh chu nunnom hen. Nabal in achonset man akisan ahitai,” ati. Chuin David in Abigail henga aji hina dingin thuthot aneiyin, agadoh sah tan ahi.
And David heard, and he said, "Blessed is YHWH, who has taken my side in the matter of Nabal's insult, and has kept back his servant from evil. YHWH has returned the evildoing of Nabal on his own head." David sent and spoke concerning Abigail, to take her to him as wife.
40 Chuin thupole ho chu Carmel alhun phat un, Abigail jah’a, “David in jia neidia, nang puiya eihinsol’u ahi,” agatiuve.
When the servants of David had come to Abigail to Carmel, they spoke to her, saying, "David has sent us to you, to take you to be his wife."
41 Hichun Abigail chu tol’ah abohkhup’in hitin adonbut in, “Kei, nasohnu, David toh kakichen ding kakipah’e, alhacha hiya akeng soppeh dia gotsa kahi,” ati.
She got up and bowed herself with her face to the ground, and said, "Look, your servant is a lowly servant to wash the feet of your servants."
42 Abigail jong lungkin tah-in akigongin, akipatdoh pai paiyin, sangan chung khat’a akaldoh in ama jenlea pangji asoh numei nga chu akipuiyin, David sohte nung ajuijin, David ji- dingin apangtai.
Then Abigail got up quickly and rode on a donkey, and with five female servants following her; and she followed the messengers of David, and became his wife.
43 David chun Ahinoam Jezreel kho mi jong akichenpin, anigel lhon in, ajidin apang lhontai.
David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they both became his wives.
44 Hiche kahlah chun Saul chun achanu Michal kitinu, David jinu chu Gallim kho mi Palti chapa La’ish chu aji din ape tai.
Now Saul had given Mikal his daughter, David's wife, to Palti the son of Laish, who was of Gallim.
