1 Nikhat David heng’ah thu ahung lhungin, Philistine miten Keilah kho abulu-uvin, chule changpholla chang jouse jong akichomgam tauve, ahung tiuve.
And it was told David, saying, behold, the Philistines war in Keila, and they rob, they trample on the threshing-floors.
2 David in Pakai koma, “Kagache a kagasat ding ham?” tia adohle, Pakaiyin ahindonbut in, “Henge, chenlang Keilah khopi khu ga huhdoh in,” ati.
And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go and strike these Philistines? And the Lord said, Go, and you shall strike these Philistines, and shall save Keila.
3 Ahinlah David asepaiten ajah’a, “Ven eiho Judah gamsung jenga jong kichatah’a um ihiuvin, i-atileh Keilah khoa icheuva hiche Philistine sepaite khujatpi khutoh ikisatto pi thei diu ham?” atiuve.
And the men of David said to him, Behold, we are afraid here in Judea; and how shall it be if we go to Keila? Shall we go after the spoils of the Philistines?
4 Hijeh chun David in jong Pakai adongkit in ahile, Pakaiyin ajah’a, “Keilah ah kumsuh un, ajeh chu keiman kapanpia Philistine mite najo dingu ahi,” ati.
And David enquired yet again of the Lord; and the Lord answered him, and said to him, Arise and go down to Keila, for I will deliver the Philistines into your hands.
5 Hijeh chun David le asepaite jong Keilah khopi’ah acheuvin, Philistinete agasat’un, mitamtah agathat tauve, chule agancha jouseu ahin kikai’un chule Keilah kho miho jong ahuhdoh un ahi.
So David and his men with him went to Keila, and fought with the Philistines; and they fled from before him, and he carried off their cattle, and struck them with a great slaughter, and David rescued the inhabitants of Keila.
6 Ahimelech chapa Abiathar chu Keilah khopia kona ahung jamdoh’a David kom ahin jot chun, Thempuvon ompho khat ahin kipohlut in ahi.
And it came to pass when Abiathar the son of Achimelech fled to David, that he went down with David to Keila, having and ephod in his hand.
7 David chu Keilah khoah ahung luttai tithu Saul’in ajah phat in, “Aphalheh jenge! Tuavang hi Pathen in kakhutna apehdoh ahitai, ajeh kulpi kaikhumsa, kulpi kikamkhum sung’a David hi ama amachama hung vahlut ahitai,” ati.
And it was told Saul that David was come to Keila: and Saul said, God has sold him into my hands, for he is shut up, having entered into a city that has gates and bars.
8 Hitah chun Saul in asepaite jouse akhom khom soh keiyin, Keilah khopi chu ahin nokhum’un, David le asepaite chu aumkhum tauvin ahi
And Saul charged all the people to go down to war to Keila, to besiege David and his men.
9 Ahinlah David in Saul thilgon jouse chu ahen, Abiathar thempupa jah’ah, “Thempuvon ompho chu hikomah hinchoiyin,” ati.
And David knew that Saul spoke openly of mischief against him: and David said to Abiathar the priest, Bring the ephod of the Lord.
10 Chuin David in, “Vo Pakai Israel Pathen, keima hiche muna kaum jeh hin Saul in Keilah khopia hung’a akhopi hi suhchim ding tohgon aneiyin ahi.
And David said, Lord God of Israel, your servant has indeed heard, that Saul seeks to come against Keila to destroy the city on my account.
11 Hiche kho mite hin keima hi amaho khutna eipehdoh diu ham? Chule Saul hung mong ding hinam? Vo Pakai Israel Pathen, lungsettah in neiseipeh in,” tin ataovin ahi. Chuin Pakaiyin, “Hung ding ahi,” tin adonbut in ahi.
Will [the place] be shut up? And now will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? Lord God of Israel, tell your servant.
12 David’in jong, “Keilah khopia lamkaiho hin, keima le kasepaite hohi Saul khutna eipeh doh dingu ham?” tin adong kit’in ahi. Chule Pakaiyin, “Henge amahon napehdoh dingu ahi,” tin ahin donbut in ahi.
And the Lord said, It will be shut up.
13 David le amiteho chu jagup vel alhinphat'un, Keilah mun chu adalhauvin thinglhang lang’ah apotdoh’u le David chu jamdoh tai tithu chu Saul lengpan ajahdoh phat in Keilah khopi lam chu anajon tapoi.
And David arose, and the men with him, in number about four hundred, and they went forth from Keila, and went wherever they could go: and it was told Saul that David had escaped from Keila, and he forbore to come.
14 David vang chu gamthip lah ah munthip khat’ah aumin, Ziph gamthip thinglhang gamlah ah chun apansa dentai.
And he lived in Maserem in the wilderness, in the narrow [passes]; and lived in the wilderness in mount Ziph, in the dry country. And Saul sought him continually, but the Lord delivered him not into his hands.
15 Nikhat chu Horesh kom vella David aum pet in, Saul chun David tha ding hollin Ziph lam ahin jon touve tithu ajantan ahi.
And David perceived that Saul went forth to seek David; and David was in the dry mountain in the New Ziph.
16 Hichun Jonathan in jong David kimupia Pathen tahsan tah’a dingdet kheh ding in atilkhou ding in ahol in ahi.
And Jonathan son of Saul rose, and went to David to Caene, and strengthened his hands in the Lord.
17 tin Jonathan’in, “Kicha hih in, kapan namudoh jouponte! Nangma Israel te leng nahung hi ding ahi, keima kapa banga nang bana kahi ding ahi, hichu kappa Saul in ahet ahi,” tin ana tilkhouvin ahi.
And he said to him, Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be second to you; and Saul my father knows it.
18 Hijeh chun amanin Pakai masang ah kitepna khat anei lhonin ahi. Chuin Jonathan ain lamah akilen, David vang chu Horesh mun ah aumdentai.
So they both made a covenant before the Lord; and David lived in Caene, and Jonathan went to his home.
19 Chujouvin Ziph miho chu Gibeah muna Saul hengah acheuvin, David chu apedoh tauvin ahi. “Keihon kiselna mun kaheuve, Ama tuhin Jeshimon lhanglam’a um Hakilah thinglhang gam sung, Horesh kulpi dunga keiho lah’a David kisel ahi,” atiuvin ahi.
And the Ziphites came up out of the dry country to Saul to the hill, saying, Behold, is not David hidden with us in Messara, in the narrows in Caene in the hill of Echela, which is on the right of Jessaemon?
20 “Vo lengpa naki got chaiya nakigin phat phat’a nahung konsuh’a ahile keihon jong jaonan napanpi ving ting, David chu nangma khut’a pedoh nauvinge,” aga tiuvin ahi.
And now [according to] all the king's desire to come down, let him come down to us; they have shut him up into the hands of the king.
21 Hichun Saul in jong, “Pakaiyin phatthei naboh’u hen, ajeh chu nanghon hibangtah’a keima ding neihin gel khohpeh uve.
And Saul said to them, Blessed [be] you of the Lord, for you have been grieved on my account.
22 Cheloiyunlang, phatechan gaphochen un, aumna mun, age namun, gahechen set uvin unlang gavechil chet tauvin, ajeh chu, amahi mi kilep themtah ahi.
Go, I pray you, and make preparations yet, and notice his place where his foot shall be, quickly, in that place which you spoke of, lest by any means he should deal craftily.
23 Hijeh chun akisel namun hoilai ham ti, gavechilsoh keijuvin ima jouse he sohkei uvin lang, kahenga hungkit uvin, chutengle keijong, nangho toh kilhona icheuva agamsunga David aumpou pouva ahileh kahol doh teitei ding ahi,” ati.
Take notice, then, and learn, and I will go with you; and it shall come to pass that if he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Juda.
24 Hijeh chun amaho jong akipatdoh uvin Ziph gamlanga chun Saul sang in anache masa tauve. David le asepaite chu hiche pet’a hi Jeshimon lhang lama Arabah gamsung Ma’on gammang noiya kisel’ah ahiuve.
And the Ziphites arose, and went before Saul: and David and his men [were] in the wilderness of Maon, westward, to the right of Jessaemon.
25 Saul le amiten aholle leuve ti David in ajahdoh phat in, gamthip sunglam agamla jep songpi lentah khat sungah alutin, Maon gamthip ah aumtan ahi. Ahinlah Saul chun ana hol jing in ahi.
And Saul and his men went to seek him: and they brought word to David, and he went down to the rock that was in the wilderness of Maon: and Saul heard, and followed after David to the wilderness of Maon.
26 Chuin Saul le amite molpang langkhat ah achen, hibangma chun David le aloiho jong molpang lang khat ah acheuvin, chuin Saul le aloiho chun, David le amite chu nailutna matdin aumkul tauvin ahi.
And Saul and his men go on one side of the mountain, and David and his men are on the other side of the mountain: and David was hiding himself to escape from Saul: and Saul and his men encamped against David and his men, in order to take them.
27 Ahin Saul heng ah thusoh kin khat ahung lhungin, ajah ah, “Gangtah’in hungin jeh chu Philistine ten gamsung gal hin boltauve,” tin ahung seijun ahi.
And there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste you, and come here, for the Philistines have invaded the land.
28 Hijeh chun David nung adella konin Saul akinunglen, Philistine te satdin achetai. Hijeh chun hiche mun chu Sela-hammahlekoth asah tauvin ahi.
So Saul returned from following after David, and went to meet the Philistines: therefore that place was called The divided Rock.
29 Chuin David chua kon chun achetouvin Engedi mun dettah sunga achengtai.
And David rose up from thence, and lived in the narrow passes of Engaddi.
