< 1 Samuel 2 >

1 Chuin hiti hin Hannah ataovin, “Kalungsung Pakaiyah akipah jinge, Pakaiyin eihat sah tai, Tun kamelma te donbutna ding kanei tai; Kakipahe’ ajeh chu nangman neilhatdoh tai.
And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart is glad in the Lord, my horn is exalted through the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over my enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.
2 Pakai tobanga theng adang aumpoi! Nangma tobang koima dang aumpoi, Eiho Pathen tobang songpi dang aumpoi.
There is none holy like the Lord; for there is none beside thee; and there is not any rock like our God.
3 Kiletsah vallin thu seidan, Hoitho nathu Nakam’in phapoh hih hellin. ahetlou imacha aumpoi, natohho jouse thu atanding ahi.
Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogance come out of your mouth; for a God of knowledge is the Lord, and by him are actions weighed.
4 Galhat te thalpi jouse tunvang akiheh bongtan, mi thalhom chu thahat akisotai.
The bow of the mighty is broken, and those that stumbled are girded with strength.
5 Oi vasetna neten, nehding nelouvin kel thoh in aum’un, agilkelho avasoh tauve.
They that were full hire themselves out for bread; and they that were hungry cease [from labor]: while the barren hath born seven, she that hath many children fadeth away.
6 Pakaiyin thinale hinna ani gellin apen, aman abang lhankhuh ah alhahsuh sah in, abang akaithouve. (Sheol h7585)
The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. (Sheol h7585)
7 Pakai in abang avaichat sah’in, adang ahao sah in choisang in. abang alhahsuh sah in abang aphong ding in ahi.
The Lord maketh poor and maketh rich: he bringeth low and also lifteth up.
8 Aman vaichaho leivuija konin aphong sangin chule angaichate vutvam lah’a kon’in aneiloute achoisangin ahi. Leng chapate lah’a tousah dingle, loupina laltouna-a tousah-a, thilsemho jouse hi Pakai ja ding ahi, chule vannoija thilho jouse kitoh tah in akoiye.
He raiseth up out of the dust the poor, from the dunghill he lifteth up the needy, to set them among nobles, and he assigneth them the throne of glory; for the Lord's are the pillars of the earth, on which he hath set the world.
9 Aman ama dinga tahsan umtah hochu aventup ding ahi, ahinlah michonse ho chu muthim lah’a mangthah ding ahiuve. Ajeh chu athahat na a koimacha dingjoulou ding ahi.
He ever guardeth the feet of his pious ones, and the wicked shall be made silent in darkness; for not by strength can man prevail.
10 Pakai douna-a galsat ho chu cheh chao ding ahiuve, amaho douna-a vana kona keh alhah sah ding ahi; Pakaiyin vana kon in thu ahin tan in amadinga thaonu changho chung ah, vannoija aman alengho thuneina apen athanei nao abelap peh in ahi.
The Lord—his adversaries will be crushed; out of heaven will he thunder upon them: the Lord will judge the ends of the earth; and he will give strength unto his king, and lift up the horn of his anointed.
11 Chujouvin Samuel jaolouvin, Elkanah jong a in lam Ramah kho ah akiletan ahi.
And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the lad was ministering unto the Lord before 'Eli the priest.
12 Eli chapa teni chu migilou michavai ahilhon toh kilhon’in Pakai gin nale jana pelou ahilhone.
And the sons of 'Eli were worthless men: they knew not the Lord.
13 Hichelaiya thempu hija atoh dingdol mi koi tobang hamkhat in kilhaina atodoh teng lhachapa chun, sa kithat kihonsou pet tah leh satul kathum neikhat ahin puma ahinsol jia ahi.
And the custom of the priests with the people was, that, when any man offered a sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while [the man] was seething the flesh, with a fork with three teeth in his hand;
14 Hiche thihkhe chu khangbel sunga asolutna, asodoh pen pen chu Eli chate apeh ding, Israel chate Shiloh a gan kilhaina hunglha jouse hitia chu gihna aneiji lhon ahi.
And he struck it into the pan, or the kettle, or the caldron, or the pot; [and] all that the fork brought up the priest took away with it. So did they unto all the Israelites that came thither, to Shiloh.
15 Abang komle sathaoho kilhutvam masangle thempupa sohpa chu hunga kilhaina ganthatpa jah’a chu hitia ahung sei jin, “Thempupa kigo ding sahing neipen, ajeh chu aman nangma honminsa chu akilah louhel ding ahi, sahing bou adei ahiye,” tia ahung sei ding ahi.
Even before they had yet burnt the fat, the priest's servant would come, and say to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not take from thee sodden flesh, but raw.
16 Mihem gan kilhaina kin sempa chun hitin adonbut jin ahi, “Nadeijat jat kilah in, ahinlah athao kihallha masading ahi,” atijin, ahin thempu sohpan jong, “Ahipoi nangman atuma neipeh doh ding ahi, achuti louva ahileh keiman pumhatna kalah Peh ding nahi,” tin aseijin ahi.
And if the man said unto him, They will surely presently burn the fat, and then take whatever thy soul may long for: then would he say, No; but thou shalt give it me now; and if not, I will take it by force.
17 Hitichun hiche khangthah teni chonsetna chu akhohlheh jengtan, ajeh chu Pakai maicham jeng jong chu kimit thipna changing aneitauvin ahi.
And the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord; for the men despised the offering of the Lord.
18 Ahinlah Samuel chu chapang cha hijongle, Pakai lhachan apangtai. Thempu kivonna tupat ponnem khat in akong akigah jin Pakai angsung ah lhachan apang jitan ahi.
But Samuel was ministering before the Lord, being a lad, girded with a linen ephod.
19 Kumseh leh anun sangkhol chol neo khat akhuipeh in ainneipu toh kilhaina gantha bolding in achekhom lhonin ahi.
Moreover his mother used to make him a little overcoat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
20 Inlama ahung kile masang teng’u leh, Eli in Elkanah le ainneipi phatthei abohjin chule hitin aseiji’e, “Pakaiyin hiche na inneipi chapa khat napeh jeh in, amanu’a konin chale nao tampi nahinsah hen,” tin aseiye.
And 'Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, May the Lord give thee seed from this woman instead of the loan who is lent to the Lord. And they went back unto his place.
21 Chule Pakaiyin chapa thumle chanu ni apen, hitichun Samuel chu Pakai angsung’a ahung khangtou touvin ahi.
And truly the Lord visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bore three sons and two daughters. And the lad Samuel grew up before the Lord.
22 Tun Eli chu ateh lheh jeng tan, chujong le achapa tenin Israel mi tampi abol nalhon thu kithang, kikhopna ponbuh kotpi phunga lhacha a pang numeiho aluppi lhon jong ajatai.
Now 'Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons were in the habit of doing unto all Israel; and how they would lie with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
23 Hijeh chun Eli in ajah lhon ah, “Nathilbol lhon jouse Israel mipiten kakoma aseiyun kajasoh keitai, ipi bolla hitobang chonsetna hi nabol lhon ham?
And he said unto them, Why will ye do such things? for I hear of your evil dealings from all this people.
24 Na ngah teitei lhon ding ahi, kachateni! Pakai mitea kona kajah thucheng hohi ahoihih beh jeng in ahi.
No, my sons; for the report that I hear is not good, which the Lord's people spread abroad.
25 Mihem khat chu mihem dang khat douna-a achonset na ahileh Pathen in asuhcham thei ahi, amavang mihem khat chu Pakai douna a achonsetna ahileh, koipen in ama dinga asei champeh ding hitam?” ati. Ahinlah Eli chapa tenin apa thusei ngainah sah in anei lhon poi. Hijeh chun Pakaiyin amani thina ding gonsan akoi tai.
If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him; but if against the Lord a man should sin, who shall pray for him? Nevertheless would they not hearken unto the voice of their father, because the Lord desired to slay them.
26 Chapang cha hijongle, Samuel vang chu Pakai le mihemte mitmu’n akhangtou touvin ahi.
And the lad Samuel was constantly growing and increasing in favor both with the Lord, and also with men.
27 Nikhat hi Pathen mi khat Eli koma ahung in, ahin amachu Pakaiya konin thu ahinpo in, hitin aseipeh tai, “Keima, Egypt gamsung Pharaoh insunga sohchanga aumlaiyuva napa insung mite henga kei le kei kiphong doh’a kahitai.
And there came a man of God unto 'Eli, and said unto him, Thus hath said the Lord, Did I [not] appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt, in Pharaoh's house?
28 Keiman Aaron hi Israel phung jousea kona kathempu hiding chule ka maicham chunga thilto ding, gim namtwi halding chule kamasanga thempu sangkhol chol kivon’a, kakin tong ding’a kalhendoh nahi hilou ham? Chule Israel chatea kona kimudoh keidinga thilto jouse chu napa insung mite kapeh dohsa ahitai.
And did I [not] choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to me as a priest, to offer upon my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I [not] give unto the house of thy father all the fire-offerings of the children of Israel?
29 Achutia ahileh ipi dinga kaumna a kathupeh gankilhaina le kathilto napai manga, kami Israelte thilpeh jousea kona ahoipen chun nathaodoh sah na dinga keisanga nachapa teni naja boljoh ham? Kami Israelte thilto aphalai laiya chu nangho kivah thaochet nahiu hitam?” ati.
Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at my meat-offering, which I have commanded in [my] habitation? and [why] honoredst thou thy sons above me, to fatten yourselves with the first of every offering of Israel my people?
30 “Hijeh a chu Pakai Israel Pathen in hitin aseiye, keiman nangma Levi insungle napa insung chu imatih chana kathempu a pang diu ahi tia nasei sa ahin, ahinlah keima eija a chu keiman jong amachu kaja ding ahi, chule keima giltah’a eibol louva chu keiman jong kakhohsah lou ding ahi.
Therefore saith the Lord the God of Israel, I had indeed said, Thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever; but now, saith the Lord, Be it far from me; for those that honor me will I honor, and those that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
31 Phat ahung lhunge, vetan, Keiman nathaneina kasuh bei nading nikho ahung nai tul tule, Hiteng chule nain sunga pasal tehse khat chabeh jong hung umlou ding ahiye.
Behold, days are coming, that I will hew off thy arm, and the arm of thy father's house, so that there shall not be an old man in thy house.
32 Hiche phatteng chule Israel te kipe haona chu nangman ngaicha geova, namit lhilha lha a nahin vet ding ahi chujongle nainsunga kona pasal ateh’a thi khatna khat cha jong umdoh lou ding ahitai.
And thou shalt behold a rival in my habitation, in all that by which he will do good for Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thy house in all times.
33 Ahingdoh chasun jong gim hesoh thoh'a umdiu, chule achate hou jong thise jenga thi diu ahi.
And yet I will not cut off the men descended from thee from my altar, to consume thy eyes, and to grieve thy soul: and all the increase of thy house shall die as [vigorous] men.
34 Kathusei ho adih avetsahna chu, kathusei hochu hung guilhung ding, hichu nachateni chunga hung lhung ding, Hophni chule Phinehas, nikhat sunga ani lhon’a thiding ahi!
And this shall be unto thee the sign, that shall happen on thy two sons, on Chophni and Phinehas: On one day shall they, both of them, die.
35 Chutengle keiman tahsan umtah thempu eijen dingle kalung deitah bolding katundoh ding ahi. Ainsung jeng jong katundoh peh a, chule amaho chu kaleng tundoh ho thempu a tonsot'a pang dingu ahi.
And I will raise up to me a faithful priest, who shall do in accordance with what is in my heart and in my mind; and I will build for him an enduring house; and he shall walk before my anointed in all times.
36 Chuteng nainsung’a ahing chengse a angsunga bohkhup uva, paisa le an athum diu, “Lungset tah in” tia asei diu, natoh ding neipeuvin, thempuho lah ah, chuteng keihon nehding kham neitavinge, atidiu ahi,” ati.
And it shall come to pass, that whoever is left in thy house shall come to bow down to him for a gera of silver and a loaf of bread, and shall say, Attach me, I pray thee, unto one of the priestly offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.
