1 Chuin Samuel chun Israel pumpi jah ding in thu aseiyin, “Veuvin kahenga nasei jouseu kangaiyin, nachung uva vaihom ding leng khat jong kasempeh tauve.
Samuel said to all Israel, "Look, I have listened to your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you.
2 Naleng’u hi tun nalamkai-u jong ahitai, namasang laitah uva kadinge, kumtam tehse samkang kahitai. Kachapate to nakiloi diu ahi. Kachapan laiya kipan in tuni chengeijin nalamkaiyun kahung pang in ahi.
Now, look, the king walks before you; and I am old and gray-headed; and look, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my youth to this day.
3 Tun hikoma ka-ume, koi bongchal ahiloule koi sangan kalahpeh umkha em? Koi kalheplhah umkha em? Koi kasuhgenthei umkha em? Koi koma sumguh tholla kalahpeh umkha em? Pakai le athao nupa ang’ah kachung chang thu hettohsah pumin nei seipeh un, kana suhkhel aum jongleh tun sudih inge,” ati.
Here I am. Testify against me before Jehovah, and before his anointed. Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I taken a bribe, or a shoe? Testify against me, and I will restore it to you."
4 Mipin adonbut’un, “Aumpoi, nangman nei joulhep kha pouve, nangman keihoa kon in thil neocha jeng jong nalapoi,” atiuve.
They said, "You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything of any man's hand."
5 “Pakai le athaonu pa hi tunia na angsung laitah uva ahetoh ahi, kanung thu atheng’e” tin Samuel aphongdoh in ahi. Chuin mipin, “Henge amahi ahetoh ahi,” tin adonbut uve.
He said to them, "Jehovah is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand." They said, "He is witness."
6 Samuel in abanjom ding, “Aaron le Mose anagong jong chu Pathen ahi, napu napateu Egypt a kona ahin puidohpa chu Ama chu ahi,” ati.
Samuel said to the people, "It is Jehovah who appointed Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of Egypt.
7 “Hijeh chun, tun nangho le napu napateu chunga Pakai thilkidang nasatah tah abol chengse geldoh sah u bang chun Pakai masanga nangho dingdet un,” ati.
Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before Jehovah concerning all the righteous acts of Jehovah, which he did to you and to your fathers.
8 “Israel mite Egypt a aumlaiyun, Pakai henga akapun ahile, Aman Mose le Aaron Israelte chu Egypt gam'a konin ahin puidoh sah lhonin, hiche gam'a ahin lhut lhontai.
"When Jacob went into Egypt, and the Egyptians oppressed them, and your fathers cried to Jehovah, then Jehovah sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt, and made them to dwell in this place.
9 Ahivangin mipiten hetman louvin Pakai a Pathen-u asumil’un, aman Sisera, Hazor khopia sepai janel gal lamkai khut le Philistine te khut’a chule Moab lengpa khut’a apeh doh in ahi.
"But they forgot Jehovah their God; and he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the army of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them.
10 Chuin amaho Pakai henga akap’un, keihon Pakai kadalhau vin Baal lim le Ashtoreth kahou jeh un kachonse taove, ahinlah tun kamelmateu khut’a konin neihuhdoh uvin, chutileh nangma kajhou diu ahi atiuve.
And they cried to Jehovah, and they said, 'We have sinned, because we have forsaken Jehovah, and have served the Baals and the Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve you.'
11 Chutengle, Pakaiyin Gideon, Bedan, Jephthah chule Samuel asol in muntina namel mate hou khut’a konin neihuhdoh’un lungmong in acheng tauvin ahi.
Jehovah sent Jerubbaal, and Barak, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side; and you lived in safety.
12 “Pakai na Pathen-u chu nalengpao ahilaiyin, Ammon chate lengpa Nahash nangho douna-a ahung namu phat un, nanghon kahenga, ahipoi, leng khat in kachunguva vai ahomding ahibouve natiuve,
"When you saw that Nahash the king of the people of Ammon came against you, you said to me, 'No, but a king shall reign over us;' when Jehovah your God was your king.
13 Tun veuvin, nanghon nalhen ule na ngaichat’u lengpa chu hikoma aume chule veuvin, Pakaiyin nachunguva leng khat atungtai.
Now therefore see the king whom you have chosen, and whom you have asked for: and look, Jehovah has set a king over you.
14 Tun Pakai nagin uva chule nahou uva, chule athusei chu na ngai uva, nadoudal loubeh uva ahileh nangho le na lengpau vin Pakai chu Pathen ahi ti avetsah na ahitai.
If you will fear Jehovah, and serve him, and listen to his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of Jehovah, and both you and also the king who reigns over you are followers of Jehovah your God, then he will rescue you.
15 Ahinlah Pakai thusei chu nadoudal vang uleh, chule na ngaipeh lou uva ahivangle, akhut nachunguva gihsa ding, nangle namite chunga chu ding.
But if you will not listen to the voice of Jehovah, but rebel against the commandment of Jehovah, then the hand of Jehovah will be against you, and against your king to destroy you.
16 Pakaiyin, thil lentah tah abol ding ho, tun dingdoh uvin lang ven,” ati.
"Now therefore stand still and see this great thing, which Jehovah will do before your eyes.
17 “Nanghon naheuve, tuphat hi suhlou chang at-lai ahin go ajuji pon ahi, ahin tao leng Pakaiyin van kithinsah in tin go ju ding ahi. Hiteng chule Pakai koma leng nathumu chu Ama douna melse tah a chonse nahiu kihet tauvin nate,” ati.
Isn't it wheat harvest today? I will call to Jehovah, that he may send thunder and rain; and you shall know and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in the sight of Jehovah, in asking for a king."
18 Chuin Samuel in Pakai akouvin ahile, hiche nikho chun Pakaiyin vanginle keh ahin sol’in, hiti chun mipi chun Pakai le Samuel aging tauvin ahi.
So Samuel called to Jehovah; and Jehovah sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared Jehovah and Samuel.

All the people said to Samuel, "Pray for your servants to Jehovah your God, that we not die; for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask us a king."
20 Hichun Samuel in, “Kichahih uvin, nabol khel’u ahitai, ahinlah Pathen phaten dihtah in hou-uvin nalungthim pumpin houvun, chule kinungle kit bol hih’un,” atin ahi.
Samuel said to the people, "Do not be afraid. You have indeed done all this evil; yet do not turn aside from following Jehovah, but serve Jehovah with all your heart.
21 “Nungchon hih beh’un, nungchon a milim pao theilou hochun napanpi louhel diu ahi, hiho chu pannabei jeng ahiuve.
Do not turn aside to go after vain things which can't profit nor deliver, for they are vain.
22 Pakaiyin amite itih hijongle adalhah louhel ding ahi, ajeh chu adalhah'a ahile ama amin lentah chu asuhminset ding ahi. Hijeh chun Pakaiyin nangho amite dia agot hi ama lunglhaina ahi,” ati.
For Jehovah will not forsake his people for his great name's sake, because it has pleased Jehovah to make you a people to himself.
23 “Keima vang, nangho ding’a taopeh hi ka ngah’a, hichu Pakai douna-a kachonset louhel ding ahi. Chule thilpha le thildih nabol jing diuhi nangma kahil jing ding ahi.
Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Jehovah in ceasing to pray for you: but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.
24 Ahinlah hiche hi naboltei diu ahi, Pakai chu ging’un chule tahsan umtah in jen’un, chule nangho ding’a thilkidang abol jouse chu geldoh jing’un.
Only fear Jehovah, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.
25 Ahinlah nachonset jom jing uva ahileh, nangho le nalengpau kisumang ding ahi,” ati.
But if you shall still do wickedly, you shall be swept away, both you and your king."
