< 1 Peter 2 >

1 Hiti chun umchan phalou ho, mi lheplhahna jouse, phatlhem, mithang thipna, chule ngainom umlou thusei jouse pailhauvin.
WHEREFORE putting far away wickedness of every kind, and all deceit, and hypocrisies, and envyings, and all backbitings,
2 Naosen sohthah ho bangin, lhagao bongnoi thengsel chu ngaichauvin chutileh lhagao huhhingna a chu na kikhanlhit thei dingu ahi.
as new-born babes desire earnestly the unadulterated milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 Tun nanghon Pakai phatna chu natekhah u ahitai.
if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 Nangho Christa, Pathen Hou-in hingjing inning songpi, henga chu hunga nahi tauve. Ama chu miho pampai ahin, ahinlah Pathen in jana lentah chang dinga alhendoh joh ahitai.
Whom approaching, as the living stone, rejected indeed of men, but elect of God, and honourable,
5 Chule nangho, song hingho Pathen in lhagao hou-in a dinga asahdoh chu nahiuve. Akalval ipi um'em, nangho Ama dia thempu thengho nahi tauve. Yeshua Christa Palai hina a Pathen lunglhaina theiya lhagaova kilhaina-thilto chu bol'ah nahi tauve.
ye also, as living stones, are built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices, well pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.
6 Pathen Thubun asei dung juiyin, “Keiman Jerusalema inning songpi kakoiyin, jabolna lentah dinga kilheng dohsa ahi, chule koi hileh Ama tahsan chan chu lungsetna changlouva umloubeh ding ahi,” ati.
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, “Behold, I lay in Sion a cornerstone, elect, precious, and the believer on him shall never be confounded.”
7 Tahbeh in, nangho Ama tahsan hon Pathen in apeh jabolna chu nahetpeh un. Hinlah Ama pampai ho din “insahon adeimouva apampaiyu song chu tun inning sonpin apangtai.”
By you therefore who believe is he honoured: but respecting the disobedient, “the stone which the builders rejected, this very stone is become the head of the corner,
8 Chule “Ama miho kipalsah chu ahin, chule amaho lhuhna songpi chu ahitai.” Amaho akipalnau ajeh chu amaho Pathen Thun anung pouve, chule amaho dinga kigong achandiu chu akimu tauve.
and a stone of stumbling, and rock of offence,” to those who stumble at the word, disobedient; whereunto also they were appointed.
9 Ahin nangho hitobang chu nahi lou u ahi, ajeh chu nangho lhen tum mite nahiuve. Nangho leng-thempu ho, namtheng, Pathen nei chu nahi tauve. Hijeh a chu, nanghon midang ho Pathen phatna chu navetsah theiju ahitai, ajeh chu Aman muthim lah a kona avah loupi kidangtah a chu napuilut u ahitai.
But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired by purchase; that ye should publish abroad the excellencies of him, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 “Masanga chu amite hina photchenna neilou nahiu ahin, tua hi nangho Pathen mite nahiu ahitai. Masanga chu khotona anachanglou nahiu ahin, tua hi Pathen khotona chu changa nahi tauve.”
who in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God; who had not obtained mercy, but are now the objects of mercy.
11 Deitahte, “chomkhat a dinga khosa chule gamchom mi” nahiu toh kilhon'a kagihsal nahiuve, nangho nalhagaovu douva pang vannoi lung ngaichat hoa konin kikang seuvin.
Beloved, I exhort you, as strangers and sojourners, Abstain from carnal lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Naheng nakom atahsanlou to cheng khom nahiu chu heuvin lang, chingtheiyun. Chujouleh amahon thildihlou bol a themmo nachan ujongleh ja theiya naum nau chu mudoh uvintin, chule Aman vannoi thu atan teng Pathen chu jana apeh dingu ahi.
having your conduct ornamental among the Gentiles: that, whereas they malign you as wicked doers, they may, being eye-witnesses of your good works, glorify God in the day when he visits them.
13 Pakai jal'in, mihem thuneina jouse jabol un, Lengpa chu gamneipa ahinaa jading ahi,
Be subject therefore to every human constitution for the Lord’s sake; whether to a king as the supreme magistrate;
14 ahilouleh thunei aman alhendoh hijongleh jana pen. Ajeh chu lengpa chun thildihlou bolho gimbol dinga chule thilpha bolho jabolna pedinga amaho chu ngansena apeh ahi.
or to governors, as sent by him for the punishment of wicked doers, but the praise of those who do well.
15 Ja umtah'a hinkho naman diu chu Pathen lunglam ahi, hichun alamlouva ngolhoitah a themmo nahin chanhou chu asuhthip ding ahi.
For such is the will of God, that by well doing ye hold under restraint the ignorance of foolish men:
16 Ajeh chu nangho chamlhat nahiu ahi, hinlah nangho Pathen sohte nahiuve, hiti ahijeh chun nachamlhatnau chu thilse bolnan neihih un.
as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for wicked practices; but as being servants of God.
17 Amitakip jabolun, chule Christian nasopi chu ngailun. Pathen gingin, chule lengpa chu jabol in.
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
18 Chule nangho sohho naputeu thuneina chu jana neitoh thon sanguvin. Amahon bol'un tia nahilu chu bolun-amaho chu mihepithem le lunggel toh them ahiseh-u hilouvin, mi engse ahiu jongleh bolun.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but even to the froward.
19 Ajeh chu Pathen lunglhaina chu nanghon adih ahi ti nahet'u chu naboluva chule alamlouva nakibol nauva jong thohhattah a napan dingu ahi.
For this is gracious conduct, if for conscience towards God, any man undergo sorrows, suffering wrongfully.
20 Ahinai, thilse boljeh a nathoh hatnau chun ima chanding nanei pouve. Hinlah thilphabol jeh a gimbolna nathoh uva thohhattah a napanuva ahileh, Pathen nachunguva lunglhaiyah ahi.
For what glory would there be, if committing faults, and being buffeted, ye suffered patiently? but if, when ye behave well, yet suffer, ye bear it patiently, this is graciously accepted of God.
21 Ajeh chu Pathen in Christan nangho dinga gimbol hesoh athoh banga chu gimthohna ding hijongleh thilpha boldinga nakouvu ahi. Ama navettoh uva najui dingu chule akhonung najui dingu ahiye.
For hereunto have ye been called, because Christ also hath suffered for you, leaving you a pattern, that ye should follow his steps;
22 Ama achonse khapoi, koima cha jong alhemlha khapoi.
who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Ama ajumsou jong chun alethuhpoi, agimhesoh thoh pet in jong akithuhpoi. Aman achungchang thu adihtah a thutan jing Pathen khut a angam lhan ahi.
who, when reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he used no menaces; but referred himself to him who judgeth righteously:
24 Amatah in atahsa chunga ichonsetna hou thingpel chunga chun apoi, hichu eiho chonsetna lama ithiuva chule chonphatna lama ihin theina dingu ahi. Ama kijepna mahahoa chu nanghon damna namu u ahi.
who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead unto sins, might live unto righteousness; “by whose stripes, even his, ye were healed.”
25 Nangho masanga chu avah manga nana hiu ahin, hinlah tun na Chingpau, na lhagaovu Kaihoipa henga chu hung kilekit'ah nahi tauve.
For ye were as sheep wandering astray; but are now returned unto the pastor and bishop of your souls.
