And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam has reigned over Judah;

2 Aman Jerusalem ah kum thum vai ana hom in. Anu chu Absalom chanu Maacah ahi.

he has reigned three years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;

3 Aman jong, ama masanga leng vaihom hobang bangin, thilse jeng ana bol in, apului David kitah bang in a Pakai a Pathen ah ana kitah joupon ahi.

and he walks in all the sins of his father that he did before him, and his heart has not been perfect with his God YHWH, as the heart of his father David;

4 Ahin David jal’a, Pakai Pathen in achilhahte aban banna thaomeivah banga vah dinga vaihomna mun ahin ban losah ahin, achapa Abijah jong chu ama nunga Jerusalema vai ahin hop sah ahi.

but for David’s sake his God YHWH has given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,

5 Ajeh chu David in a Pakai mit mu’a apha jeng ana bol’a, Pakai thupeh hoitah’a ahinkho lhumkeiya ana jui lhung kei ahin, Hit mi Uriah chung’a ana kipal bou chu ahi.

in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all [the] days of his life—except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;

6 Hiche Abijah leh Jeroboam vaihom sung hin aki kah lhon ah gal kisattona ana um mat chat jingin ahi.

and there has been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7 Abijah vaihom sunga thilsoh dangho Judahh lengte thusim kijih na Lekhabu a aum soh kei jin ahi. Abijah le Jeroboam kikah a gal ana umjing in ahi.

And the rest of the matters of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there has been war between Abijam and Jeroboam;

8 Abijah athi phat in David khopia ana kivui jin ahi. Hijou chun achapa Asa chu leng ahung chang in ahi.

and Abijam lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the City of David, and his son Asa reigns in his stead.

9 Jeroboam in Israel chung’a vai ana hom na kum somni ahung lhin hin, Judahh chung’a Asa in vai ahin hom pan in ahi.

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa has reigned over Judah,

10 Aman Jerusalema kum somli le khat vai ana hom in ahi. Api chu Abshalom chanu Maacah ahi.

and he has reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

11 Asa hin apului David bang in Pakai mit un alung lhaina ngen ana bol lin ahi.

And Asa does that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, like his father David,

and removes the whoremongers out of the land, and turns aside all the idols that his fathers made;

13 Aman api Maacah jeng jong Lengnu nu ahina akonin ana haisah in ahi, ajeh chu aman thet umtah Asherah doi ana kisem jeh ahi. Aman kidah umtah adoi hochu asat lhan Kidron phaicham lamah aga hal lhan ahi.

and also his mother Maachah—he turns her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for an Asherah, and Asa cuts down her horrible thing, and burns [it] by the Brook of Kidron;

14 Aman doiphung ho jouse chu ana suhmanglou vang'in, aman ahinkho lhung keijin kitah tah’in Pakai anajui lhung keijin ahi.

but the high places have not been removed; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect with YHWH [for] all his days,

15 Apaleh aman, sana le dangka chuleh thildang dangho ahin ana kat dohsa lhon hochu Pakai Houin ana polut'in ahi.

and he brings in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of YHWH: silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 Judahh lengpa Asa leh Israel lengpa Baasha teni kikah in gal anaum jingin ahi.

And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days,

17 Israel leng Baasha in Judahh gam ahinsat in, Judahhte leng Asa gamsunga mi alut le apot aumthei louna dingin Ramah chu kulpi aget khumin ahi.

and Baasha king of Israel goes up against Judah, and builds Ramah, not to permit anyone going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

18 Asa in hiche lethuh na in, Pakai Houin sungle Leng inpia sum kholna a sana dangka ho jouse chu alahdoh in, hichu Hezion tupa Benhadad, Tabrimon chapa Syria Lengpa chu aga pehsah in thu hicheng jong athot in ahi.

And Asa takes all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the house of the king, and gives them into the hand of his servants, and King Asa sends them to Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

“A covenant [is] between me and you, between my father and your father; behold, I have sent a reward of silver and gold to you; go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goes up from off me.”

20 Asa Lengpa tepna chu Benhadad in jong ana noppeh in, Israel khopi ho nokhum dingin asepaite asoltan ahi. Hitichun amahon Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah chuleh Kinnereth pumpi leh Naphtali gam pumpi ana banjo gam tauvin ahi.

And Ben-Hadad listens to King Asa, and sends the heads of the forces that he has against cities of Israel, and strikes Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;

21 Israel Lengpa Baasha chun thilsoh hochu ajahdoh phat in, Ramah khopi chu kulpi akaikhum na a kon chun aki nungle in Tirzah langa achetan ahi.

and it comes to pass at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceases from building Ramah, and dwells in Tirzah.

22 Hichun Asa lengpa Judahh gamsung a mijousen Baasha in Ramah a umkhum kulpi semna a amanchah songle thingho chu lhoh mang dingin thu apen ahi. Asa in hiche hochu Benjamin gamsunga um Giba khopi leh Mizpah khopi pal getkhum na in amang tan ahi.

And King Asa has summoned all Judah—there is none exempt—and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha has built, and King Asa builds with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 Asa vaihomna sunga thilsohho leh atha neina dungjuija ana toh le thilbol ho chuleh khopi ana tundoh minho chu Judahh Lengte thusim kijih lutna Lekhabua chun aum in ahi. Ateh lang in akeng ahung natan ahi.

And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;

24 Asa athi phat in ama chu apu apate toh David khopiah anavui tauvin ahi. Hijeh chun Asa chapa Jehosaphat chun Leng mun ahin lotan ahi.

and Asa lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead.

25 Judahh mite lah a Asa lengpan vai ahom akum ni channa in Jeroboam chapa Nadab chun Israelte lah’a vai ana hom in ahi. Aman Israelte lah a kumni vai ahom in ahi.

And Nadab son of Jeroboam has reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigns over Israel two years,

26 Aman Pakai mitmu’n thilse jeng ana bol’in, apa natoh nung anajuijin, Jeroboam in Israel te ana chonset sah chu anache jompi in ahi.

and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and goes in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

27 Hijouchun, Issachar phunga kona Ahijah chapa Baasha chun Nadab chu thading ana gon, aman asepaite toh Gibbethon kiti Philistina khopia chu ana nokhum got laitah in ana that tan ahi.

And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspires against him, and Baasha strikes him in Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines—and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon—

28 Asa lengpan Judahh mite lah a vai ana hopna kum thum channa in Baasha in Nadab ana that in Israelte leng in anapang in ahi.

indeed, Baasha puts him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigns in his stead.

29 Aman Jeroboam chilhahte abonchan ana that gamin, leng insunga mite chu khatcha ana hinghoi pon ahi. Hichehi Pakaiyin Shiloh’a, Ahijah Themgaopa mangcha a Jeroboam chung chang thu ana sei chu aguilhun na ahi tai.

And it comes to pass, at his reigning, he has struck the whole house of Jeroboam, he has not left any breathing to Jeroboam until his destroying him, according to the word of YHWH, that He spoke by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

30 Hitobang thilsoh hi Jeroboam in Pakai Israel Pathen chu asuh lunghang jeh leh, ama chonset na chungchon na Israel mipite chu ana chonset sah jeh ahi.

because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked YHWH, God of Israel, to anger.

31 Nadab in avaihom sunga thilsoh holeh aman ana toh thilho Israel lengte thusim kijihna lekhabu a aum in ahi.

And the rest of the matters of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

32 Judahh lengpa Asa leh Israel lengpa Baasha kikah a kidouna anaum jingin ahi.

And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days.

33 Judahh gam’a Asa lengpan vai ahom kum thum channa in Ahijah chapa Baasha in Israel gam pumpia vai ana hom in ahi. Baasha in Tirzah a kum somni le li vai ana hom in ahi.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah has reigned over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years,

34 Ahin, amahon Jeroboam chonna dungjuijin Pakai mitmu’n thilse jeng ana bollin, Jeroboam min Israelte ana chonset sah chu aman jong ana che jom pin ahi.

and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
