And King Solomon has loved many strange women, and the daughter of Pharaoh, females of Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, [and] of the Hittites,
2 Pakaiyin Israel mipite chu kichehtah a, “Hiche namdang mite chu nakichenpi loudiu ahi, ajeh chu amahon, a pathen ho houdia nalungthim’u ahei lut diu ahi,” tia ana hilchah ahi. Ahinlah Solomon in amaho chu ana ngailu thou thou in ahi.
of the nations of which YHWH said to the sons of Israel, “You do not go in to them, and they do not go in to you; surely they turn aside your heart after their gods”; Solomon has cleaved to them for love.
3 Aman Leng Chanu te jeng jasagi ana kichenpi in chuleh thaikem jathum ana neije. Atahbeh in amaho hin alung hi Pakaiya konin ana puimang tauvin ahi.
And he has seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turn aside his heart.
4 Solomon hi ahung teh phat in, a lungthim hi semthu pathen dang hounan ana hei lut tauvin, apa David bangin a Pakai a Pathen ah kitah tah in pan ana la jou tapon ahi.
And it comes to pass, at the time of Solomon’s old age, his wives have turned aside his heart after other gods, and his heart has not been perfect with his God YHWH, like the heart of his father David.
5 Solomon in Sidon mite semthu numei-pathen Ashtoreth leh thet umtah Ammon mite semthu pathen Molech chu ana hou tan ahi.
And Solomon goes after Ashtoreth goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites;
6 Hiti hin Solomon in Pakai mitmu’n thilsetah tah chu ana bol tan ahi.
and Solomon does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and has not been fully after YHWH, like his father David.
7 Jerusalem solam, Olive molchung ah, aman thet umtah Moab te semthu pathen Chemosh leh thet umtah Ammon mite semthu pathen Molech houna dingin doiphung ana tungdoh tan ahi.
Then Solomon builds a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, in the hill that [is] on the front of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the sons of Ammon;
8 Solomon in gamchom numei akichenpi aji ten asemthu pathen ho komma kilhaina pumgo thilto abolna diu leh gim namtui ahalnam na diuvin doiphung ana tundoh peh in ahi.
and so he has done for all his strange women, who are perfuming and sacrificing to their gods.
9 Pakai chu Solomon chunga ana lunghang lheh jeng tan ahi, ajeh chu Israel Pakai Pathen ahenga nivei tah hung kilah nung a, aman alungthim Pakaiya kona aheimang jeh ahi.
And YHWH shows Himself angry with Solomon, for his heart has turned aside from YHWH, God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
10 Aman Solomon hi pathen dang ahou louna dia kicheh tah’a anagihsal sa ahin, ahinla Solomon in Pakai thupeh chu ana nahsah tapon ahi.
and given a charge to him concerning this thing, not to go after other gods; and he has not kept that which YHWH commanded,
11 Hijeh chun tun Pakaiyin akom ah hiti hin thu asei tan ahi, “Nangin he nasasa a i-kitepna na suhkhah jeh leh ka Danthu nanit lou jeh in, keiman lenggam hi nang’a akona kalah doh’a na sohte lah’a khat kapeh ding ahitai,” ati.
and YHWH says to Solomon, “Because that this has been with you, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes that I charged on you, I surely tear the kingdom from you, and have given it to your servant.
12 Ahinlah napa David jal’a nahinlai sunga hichu kabol lou ding, nachapa lengvaipoh akon a bou kalahdoh ding ahi.
Only, I do not do it in your days, for the sake of your father David; I tear it out of the hand of your son;
13 “Ahinlah keiman lenggam pumpi chu kalah dohlou ding, kalhachapa David jal le kalhentum khopi Jerusalem jal’a phungkhat vang kadalhah peh ding ahi,” ati.
only, I do not tear away all of the kingdom; I give one tribe to your son, for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem that I have chosen.”
14 Hijeh chun Pakaiyin Edom mite leng insung akonin, Hadad kitipa chu Solomon kidoupi dingin ana tungdoh tan ahi.
And YHWH raises up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he [is] of the seed of the king in Edom;
15 Kum phabep masanga chu David in Edom mite hi gal anajo ahi. Asepai lamkai Joab chu Israel sepai galmun’a thiho chu avuiding’a anaum den’ah ahi. Hichea aumsung chun Edom pasal ho chu anathat gam’in ahi.
and it comes to pass, in David’s being with Edom, in the going up of Joab head of the host to bury the slain, that he strikes every male in Edom—
16 Joab leh Israel sepaite chu lha gup sung ana umden u ahin, hiche sung’a chu Edom mite chu ana tha gam’u ahi.
for six months Joab abided there, and all Israel, until the cutting off of every male in Edom—
17 Ahin hiche thilsoh lai chun, Hadad leh apa insung natong pipui ho chutoh Egypt lang’a ana jammang’u ahi. (Hiche phat laiya chu, Hadad chapang cha ahinalaiye.)
and Hadad flees, he and certain Edomites, of the servants of his father, with him, to go to Egypt, and Hadad [is] a little youth,
18 Amaho chu Midian adalhauvin, Paran ajon’un, Paran’a hin mi phabep’in ahin be uvin ahi. Hichun Egypt geiyin akitol’un, lengpa henga acheule, aman Hadad gam le in apen, neh le chah jong anape un ahi.
and they rise out of Midian, and come into Paran, and take men with them out of Paran, and come into Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he gives a house to him, and has commanded bread for him, and has given land to him.
19 Pharaoh in Hadad chu angailu lheh jengin, aman ajinu lengnu Tahpenes sopinu chu aji dingin ana pen ahi.
And Hadad finds grace in the eyes of Pharaoh exceedingly, and he gives to him a wife, the sister of his own wife, sister of Tahpenes the mistress;
20 Amanu’n chapa khat ahinpeh in amin Genubath asah tan ahi, Tahpenes lengnun Pharaoh leng inpi’ah, lengpa chate toh anavah khanglen in chule ana khoukhah in ahi.
and the sister of Tahpenes bears to him his son Genubath, and Tahpenes weans him within the house of Pharaoh, and Genubath is in the house of Pharaoh in the midst of the sons of Pharaoh.
21 David leh a sepai lamkaipa Joab chu athitai kiti thu chu Egypt alhun phat in aman Pharaoh heng’ah, “Keima ka gam lang’a kile tang’e neisol tan,” atin ahi.
And Hadad has heard in Egypt that David has lain with his fathers, and that Joab head of the host is dead, and Hadad says to Pharaoh, “Send me away, and I go to my land.”
22 Pharaoh in, “Ipi dingin em? Hiche a hi ipi lhinglel nasah’a na in lang’a na kile nom ham?” atileh aman jong, “Ima avat aumpoi, hijongle lungset tah’in kain lam’a nei kile sah tan,” ati.
And Pharaoh says to him, “But what are you lacking with me, that behold, you are seeking to go to your own land?” And he says, “Nothing, but you certainly send me away.”
23 Pathen in Eliada chapa Rezon jong chu Solomon dou dingin ahin til doh in ahi. Rezon chu apupa Zobah lengpa Hadadezer a kona hung jamdoh ahi.
And God raises an adversary against him, Rezon son of Eliadah, who has fled from Hadadezer king of Zobah, his lord,
24 Hijeh’a chu galbol loikhat lah’a lamkaija hung pang’a ahi. David in Hadadezer chu gal’a akisat pia ajo phat chun Rezon le amite chu Damacus lama ajam’un hiche a chun leng in ahung pang tan ahi.
and gathers men to himself, and is head of a troop in David’s slaying them, and they go to Damascus, and dwell in it, and reign in Damascus;
25 Rezon hi Solomon vaihom achaina geijin Israel ten akidoupi akhoh pen in ahung pang peh in, Hadad bangin boina ana sem jengin ahi. Rezon hin Israelte hi ahot lheh jengin, hiti chun Syria gam sunga leng in ana pang den tan ahi.
and he is an adversary against Israel all the days of Solomon (besides the evil that Hadad [did]), and he cuts off in Israel, and reigns over Aram.
26 Solomon noiya natong pipui khat Nebat chapa Jeroboam jong hi adouho lah’a lamkai khat ahi. Amahi Ephraim gam Zeredah khopi’a kon ahin anu hi Zeruah kiti meithai nu chu ahi.
And Jeroboam son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zereda—the name of whose mother [is] Zeruah, a widow woman—servant to Solomon, he also lifts up a hand against the king;
27 Hiche hi ama doubol ho hung kipatna thusim chu ahi, Solomon hin inlen pang’a in neo chacha ho anasah phat’a chule apa David khopi pal ho chu anasem phat laijin,
and this [is] the thing [for] which he lifted up a hand against the king: Solomon built Millo—he shut up the breach of the city of his father David,
28 Jeroboam chu thilbol theitah gollhang khat ahi ti ahin hedoh tan, chule a pottho danho chu Solomon’in amu doh phat’in, Joseph chate ni Ephraim leh Manasseh phung’a kona engbolna-a natong ho chung’a vaihom in ana pansah tan ahi.
and the man Jeroboam [is] mighty in valor, and Solomon sees that the young man is doing business, and appoints him over all the burden of the house of Joseph.
29 Nikhat hi Jeroboam chun Jerusalem adalhah'a ahung potdoh leh Shiloh a kona hung Ahijah themgaopa chun lampi’a ahung chu amun ahi. Ahijah chun ponchol athahbeh’a ana kivon in, amani achangseh chu gam lah in ana kimuto lhon in ahi.
And it comes to pass, at that time, that Jeroboam has gone out from Jerusalem, and Ahijah the Shilonite, the prophet, finds him in the way, and he is covering himself with a new garment; and both of them [are] by themselves in a field,
30 Ahijah chun a sangkhol chol thahleh chu asat tel in boh somleni ason ahi.
and Ahijah lays hold on the new garment that [is] on him, and tears it [into] twelve pieces,
31 Chuin Jeroboam jah’a, “Hiche ponhal som hi kilah in, ajeh chu Pakai Israel Pathen in, ‘Solomon khut’a kon’a Lenggam hi lah peh ing kating, phungsom hi nang ka peh ding ahi,’
and says to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces for yourself, for thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Behold, I am tearing the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and have given the ten tribes to you,
32 Ahinla, Keiman Israel gam pumpi’a kona ka lhendoh khopi Jerusalem jeh leh ka lhachapa David jeh a Solomon hi phungkhat vang kakhen peh ding ahi.
but he has the one tribe for My servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have fixed on, out of all the tribes of Israel,
33 Ajeh chu Solomon in keima ei-nungsun in Sidon mite numei pathen Ashtoreth ahouvin, Moab mite semthu pathen Chemosh ahouvin, Ammon mite semthu pathen Molech ahouvin ahi. Aman ka lampi ajui tapon chu leh ka mitmu’a ka lungdei a abol tapon chukitle apa David in eijui bangin eijuipon ka chonna Dan ho leh ka Dan sem ho jong anit tapon ahi.
because they have forsaken Me, and bow themselves to Ashtoreth, goddess of the Zidonians, to Chemosh god of Moab, and to Milcom god of the sons of Ammon, and have not walked in My ways, to do that which [is] right in My eyes, and My statutes and My judgments, like his father David.
34 Ahinlah keima tu tadi hin Solomon na konin a lengam hi abon'a ka lahdoh lou ding ahi. Keiman kana lhendoh, ka lhachapa David in kathu angaija ka Dan ho anit jeh in, ama jal in Solomon hi ahinkho lhumkeiya lamkaija kakoi jing ding ahi,” ati.
And I do not take the whole of the kingdom out of his hand, for I make him prince all [the] days of his life, for the sake of My servant David whom I chose, who kept My commands and My statutes;
35 “Ahinlah achapa a kona lenggam hi kalah doh’a phungsom hi nang khut’a ka peh doh ding ahi.
and I have taken the kingdom out of the hand of his son, and given it to you—the ten tribes;
36 Achapa hi phungkhat vang chang ding ahi. Hiti’a chu David chilhah khat vang'in ka min loupi na ding’a ka lhendoh hiche Jerusalem ahi thaomei vah bang’a vah jing ding ahi.
and to his son I give one tribe, for there being a lamp before Me for My servant David in Jerusalem [for] all the days, the city that I have chosen for Myself to put My Name there.
37 Keiman nangma hi Israelte leng mun’a hi ka tousah ding chuteng nangman lungna chim’a vai nahop ding ahi.
And I take you, and you have reigned over all that your soul desires, and you have been king over Israel;
38 Nangin kathu na ngaiya chule ka lunglhaina a neijuiya, ka lhachapa David bang’a ka Dan sem najuiya, ka thupeh nanit jing’a ahileh, Keiman kaumpi jing ding ka sohpa David kabol peh bang’a keiman nang ding’a jong nachilhah te hi amang theilou dinga ka tundoh peh ding chule Israel hi nangma kapeh ding nahi,” ati.
and it has been, if you hear all that I command you, and have walked in My ways, and done that which is right in My eyes, to keep My statutes and My commands, as My servant David did, that I have been with you, and have built a steadfast house for you, as I built for David, and have given Israel to you,
39 “Solomon chonset jeh’a hi keiman David chilhah tehi ka engbol ding ahinlah hichu phat chomkhat’a ding bou ahi,” ati.
and I humble the seed of David for this; only, not [for] all the days.”
40 Hijeh hin Solomon in Jeroboam chu tha ding agon ahinla Jeroboam Egypt lengpa Shishak komma ajamlut in Solomon thi kahsen aga um tan ahi.
And Solomon seeks to put Jeroboam to death, and Jeroboam rises and flees to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and he is in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
41 Hiche hin Solomon vaihom sunga thil abol hole anatoh ho chule a chihna hochu Solomon tohdohho kijihlut na lekhabu’a aki jihlut soh kei jin ahi.
And the rest of the matters of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written on the scroll of the matters of Solomon?
42 Solomon in Jerusalem ah kum somli vai ana hom in,
And the days that Solomon has reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel [are] forty years,
43 Ama athi phat in apa minna kisah David khopi’a ana kivui tan ahi. Chu jou in achapa Rehoboam in ama khel in leng ahungchang tai.
and Solomon lies with his fathers, and is buried in the city of his father David, and his son Rehoboam reigns in his stead.
