For I would not have you ignorant, brothers, how our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
2 Mose nungjui ahijaluvin meibol sunga le twipi sunga chun abonun baptize achangun ahi.
and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
3 Amaho jouse chun lhagao an thakhat chu anecheh uvin,
They all ate of the same spiritual bread,
4 Chule amaho jouse chun Lhagao twi khatma chu adon khomun ahi. Ajeh chu amahon akilhonpiu Lhagao songpima a kipat'a chu adonu ahin, chule hiche songpi chu Christa ahi.
and all drank from the same spiritual stream, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.
5 Hijongleh Pathen chu amaho atamjo chunga alunglhaipon, chule atahsau chu gamthip'ah athethang peh in ahi.
But in most of them God was not well pleased, for they were laid low in the desert.
6 Hichengse anasodoh hi eiho dinga kichih theina ding ahi, hiche hi amaho tobanga thilse ngaichatna ineilouna dingu ahije.
Now this happened as a warning for us, that we might not long for evil things as they longed.
7 Ahilouleh amaho lah a milim hou aum bang uva iumlouna dingu ahi. Pathen Thubun asei dungjuiyin, “Mipiho chun kivahva na golnop anneh le don abol'un, chule amaho chu milim houna a kipah in, akipah thanomun ahi.”
And you must not be idolaters like some of them. as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, And they rose up for idol dances.
8 Amaho phabep chun jon thanhoi abol jeh uva mi sang somni le sangthum chu nikhat a athilo tobangu chun jonthanhoi bolpou hite.
Nor must we act licentiously, as some of them did, and fell in a single day, twenty-three thousand of them.
9 Ahilou jongleh Christa chu patep pou hite, amaho lah a phabep in achutibol uvin chule gul in achulih uvin ahi.
Neither must we presume upon the patience of our Lord, as some of them presumed, and were destroyed by the serpents;
10 Chule phunset bolpou hite, alah uva phabep aphunset jeh uvin, mithat vantil in amaho chu asuhmang louvin ahi.
nor murmur, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the Destroying Angel.
11 Hichengse achunguva anasodoh chu eiho dinga vetsahna a soh a ahi. Amaho thudol kisun hi eiho khang kichai koma ho kichihtheina dinga ahi. (aiōn g165)
Now these things were happening to them typically, but were written down for our admonition who stand at the meeting of the ages. (aiōn g165)
12 Nangma adingdet a nakigela ahileh, nalhuh louna dingin ching theijin.
So then let him who imagines that he is standing so securely beware lest he fall.
13 Na hinkhoa lhepna nato hohi midangin atoho toh akikhehna aumdehpoi. Chule Pathen tahsan umtah ahin, nangman nadinpi joulou ding kalval chu Aman nachunga achuh ding phal ponte. Nangman lhepna chu nato tengleh, Aman nathoh jouva naki huhdohna ding lampi nagonpeh ding ahi.
No temptation has overtaken you that is beyond man’s power; but God is faithful, who will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but will, with every temptation, provide the way of escape also, so that you may be able to withstand.
14 Hiti chun, kasopi deitahte, milim houna'a konin jamdoh un.
So then, my beloved, continually flee from idolatry.
15 Nangho lung geltoh thei mi nahiuve. Keiman kasei hi adih ahi tia na tahsan uva ahileh nangho kigel phauvin.
I am speaking to men of sense; do you yourselves judge what I say.
16 Eihon Pakai Anjon kibolna'a khon'a phatthei chu iboh tenguleh, eihon Christa thisana chu chan neiya ihilou uham?
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a common participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a common participation in the body of Christ?
17 Chule eiho mitamtah ihivang uvin, eiho ibonchauva changlhah lum khat a chu nekhoma ihiuvin, hichun eiho tipum khat ihiuve ti vetsahna ahi.
Because we who are many are one bread, one body, for we all do share in the one loaf.
18 Israel mipite chu gelun, amaho chun maichama kikatdoh ho chu lungkhat tah a aneh khomjiu hilou ham?
Look at Israel according to the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices in communion with the altar?
19 Ipi seinoma kahi dem? Keiman milim houna'a kikatdoh anneh chu ipi vetsahna ahi katina hintem? Ahilouleh milim kisem thu hohi pathen ho ahiuve katina ham?
What then shall we say? that an offering to an idol is anything? or that an idol is really anything?
20 Ahipoi, hichu ahi naisaipoi. Hiche avetsahna thil kitoh ho hi lhagao boh ho koma kibol'a ahin, Pathena kikatdoh ahipoi. Chule nangho lhagao boh hotoh najao kop dingu kanompoi.
On the contrary, what the heathen sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have communion with demons.
21 Nanghon Pakai khon'a le lhagaoboh ho khon'a chu nadon theidehlou dingu ahi. Pakai dokhang le lhagaoboh dokhanga nanehkop thei dehlou dingu ahi.
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons; you cannot be partakers in the Lord’s table and in the table of demons.
22 Pakai chu thangthip sahna ikondohsah u hingap a ham? Ama sanga ihat joh uva nagelu hitam?
What! would we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23 Nangin “Keiman ipi hijongleh kabol ding phal ahi” nati, hinla ijakai nangma dinga phatchomna ahipoi. Nangin, “Ipi hijongleh kabol dia phatsah ahi” nati, hinla ima jouse aphachoma ahidehpoi.
"All things are lawful," you say? But not all things are expedient; "all things are lawful"; but not all build up.
24 Nangma dingseh a phatna ding chu gelkhoh hih in, hinla midang phatna ding gelkhoh un.
Let not each one be always seeking his own, but rather his neighbor’s good.
25 Hitia chu se le pha hetna a thudoh bol louvin kailhanga sa kijoh tapou khu naneh thei ahi.
Eat anything that is for sale in the markets, asking no questions for conscience sake;
26 Ajeh iham itileh leiset hi Pakaiya ahin, chule asunga umjouse jong hi Ama a ahi.
for the earth and its fulness are the Lord’s.
27 Atahsan lou koi ham khat'in in'a nilhah an nedinga nakouva ahileh temna namu chu nanop'a ahileh sanpeh jengin. Na angsunga aluichan chu se le pha hetna thua ima dohna neilouvin sa chu nejengin.
If one who is not a believer invites you to his house, and you wish to go, eat everything that is set before you, without asking questions for conscience sake.
28 (Hinlah khat touvin, hiche sa hi milim houna'a kikatdoh a ahitai, atia ahileh na seipehpa se le pha hetna jal jeh chun nehdin gellhahna neihih in).
But if any one tells you, "This food has been offered in sacrifice," do not eat it, for the sake of him who told you,
29 Mi koiham khat'in agel ding jeh man a chu kachamlhatna imalou soh ding ham?
and for your conscience sake - his conscience, not your own. "But," you may object, "why should my freedom be decided upon another’s scruples of conscience?
30 Keiman anneh jeh a chu Pathen kathangvah theiya chule hichu kanopsahpia ahileh, ipi jeh a anneh mana keima eiki oimo ding ham?
If I eat after giving thanks, why am I denounced for eating that for which I have given thanks?"
31 Hijeh chun nanghon naneh u hihen nadon'u hijongleh, ahilouleh ipi nabol'u hijongleh, abonchan Pathen loupina dingin bol'un.
Because whether you are eating or whether you are drinking, you are to do it all for the glory of God.
32 Judah mite hihen lang, ahilouleh chidang namdang ho hijongleh, ahilouleh Pathen houbung hijongleh lungthoisah hih un.
Do not be a cause of stumbling either to Jews of to Gentiles, or to the church of God.
33 Kei jengin jong kabollam jousea hi mitin lunglhaisahna ding kabol ahi. Keima dinga aphatpen mana kabol ahipoi, mitampi huhhing'a aum theina dinga midang dinga aphapen chu kabol joh ahi.
For so I also try to please all men in every way, not by seeking my own good, but the good of the many, that they may be saved.
