I thank my God whenever I remember you,

always in every prayer of mine for all of you, making my requests with joy,

for your partnership in the Good News from the first day until now;

being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

It is even right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

8 Jesus Christ i itna sung ah na vekpi uh in bangza in hong phawk khi ziam, ci sia Pathian ka tetti a hihi.

being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News;

13 Tua ahikom tua Christ i sung ah ka thongtakna sia kumpi innsung theampo le mun tatuam ah kilang hi;

so that it became evident to the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ;

and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word without fear.

Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.

16 Pawlkhat te in Christ thu sia ki enna taw hil uh a, thintak taw a hil bua uh hi, keima thongtakna sia haksatna ki belap tu in ngaisun uh hi:

The latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.

17 Ahihang a dang pawlkhat te in keima sia lungdamna thupha a panpui tu in hong ki koi ka hi siahe a, itna taw phuang uh hi.

The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains.

18 Tabang ahile bang hi tu ziam? Ahi tazong, a son theam uh ahizong, a hibale, thuman taw ahizong, bangbang po ahizong Christ thuhil ahi na uh le ka lungdam hi, taciang maisang zong ka lungdam suak tu hi.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether out of false motives or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.

19 Banghangziam cile na thu ngetna uh le Jesus Christ i Thaa panpui na tungtawn in hi thu sia ka suatakna hong suak tu hi, ci ka he hi,

For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance, through your petition and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

20 Ka thinsung takpi taw muang in ka lamet bangma in, bang thu po ahizong ka mai a zum bua hi, ahihang hangsanna theampo taw tatsat ngawl in ka pumpi sung ah nuntakna tungtawn in, a hibale thina tungtawn in, Christ sia lapsang hi tu hi,

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.

21 Banghangziam cile keima atu in nuntak na sia Christ a hihi, taciang thina zong phattuamna om hi.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I do not make known what I will choose.

23 Banghangziam cile thu ni ki laklaw a ciak na mun ah ka om hi, pusuak a, Christ taw omkhop tu ka uk hi; tasia thu phazaw pek hi:

But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

24 Ahihang pumpi sung ah om tu sia note atu in kisam zaw hi.

Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

25 Taciang hi ki muanna ka nei hu in, na upna uh i lungdamna a tam seseam thei natu in, pumpi sung ah om tu sia note theampo taw kizom in ka om tu hi, ci ka he hi;

And since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,

26 Tabang in note kung ah kong paikik na tungtawn in Jesus Christ sung ah keima atu in na lungdamna uh sia dimlet seseam tu hi.

that your rejoicing may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.

27 Na nuntak zia uh sia Christ i lungdamna thupha bek taw hi tahen: tabang in keima hongpai in note te kong mu a, a hibale keima ka om ngawl sung ah, note sia thaa khat sung ah kiptak in ma na pang khawm uh a, lungdamna thupha upna atu in thinsung khat taw na hanciam tek na uh thu ka zak thei natu in;

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;

28 Taciang na ngal te uh hang in bangma lau heak vun: tabang te sia amate atu in siatsuana kilangsak te a hihi, ahihang note atu in Pathian i ngupna a hihi.

and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

29 Banghangziam cile note kung ah Christ taang in ama up tu bek in hong pia ngawl a, Ama atu in thuak tu zong hong pia hi;

Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,

30 Keima sung ah na mu uh ki langpan na le tu in na zak uh thu sia, note in zong na nei uh thu a hihi.
