< Matthew 27 >
1 Zingsang hong thet ciang in thiampi lian te le upa te theampo in Jesus that tu in kikum khawm uh hi:
And as soon as it was morning all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, how to get Him executed:
2 Amate in a hen zawk uh ciang, ngam uk Pontius Pilate kung ah paipui in ap uh hi.
so they bound Him and led Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the Roman governor.
3 Tua zawkciang in Jesus a leheak pa Judas in, Topa sia that tu in maw ki suan hi, ci a mu ciang in, ki sikkik a, dangka sawmthum sia thiampi lian te le upa te kung ah puak kik in,
Then Judas, who had betrayed Him, when he saw that He was condemned, being struck with remorse, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders,
4 Mawna nei ngawl pa thisan ka ap thak man in khial khi hi, ci hi. Amate in, ko taw bang kisai ziam? nangma taw kisai bek hi, ci uh hi.
saying, I have sinned, for I have betrayed innocent blood: but they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 Ama in tua dangka sia biakinn sung ah lawn a, mundang ah pai in ama le ama ngui awk hi.
And he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 Thiampi lian te in, tua dangka te la a, hi sum sia thisan man a hikom in, biakinn neisa te sung ah koi tu kilawm ngawl hi, ci uh hi.
But the chief priests took up the pieces of silver, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury of the temple, because it is the price of blood:
7 Amate kikum khawm uh a, ngamdang mite ki phum natu in bealvawtpa lo lei uh hi.
so they consulted together, and bought with them the potter's field for a burying-ground for strangers:
8 Tua ahikom tua lo sia, tu ni dong in thisan lo, kici hi.
and therefore that field is called the field of blood to this day.
9 Kamsang Jeremiah in a sonkholna ah, Israel mite in a kitat na uh man dangka sawmthum sia amate in la a;
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was estimated, on whom the children of Israel set the price,
10 Topa thupiak na bang in bealvawtpa lo lei hi, a ci thu tangtung hi.
and gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.
11 Jesus sia ngam uk pa mai ah ding a, tua ngam uk pa in, nangma sia Judah Kumpipa ni ziam? ci in dong hi; taciang Jesus in, Na ci bang in hi khi hi, ci hi.
And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked Him, saying, Art thou the king of the Jews? And Jesus answered him, It is as thou sayest.
12 Jesus sia thiampi lian te le upa te in a mawsiat ciang in kamkhat zong zo kik ngawl hi.
And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
13 Tua zawkciang in Pilate in, nangma mawsiat na tetti theampo za ngawl ni ziam? ci hi.
Then saith Pilate to Him, Dost thou not hear how many things they witness against thee?
14 Jesus in kamkhat zong a zo kik ngawl ciang in: ngam uk pa in lamdangsa mama hi.
but He answered him not one word: so that the governor was much astonished.
15 Tua poai sung ah ngam uk pa in thongtak te sung pan, mipi te dei khat suatak thei hi.
Now the governor used at the feast to release a prisoner to the people, whomsoever they desired:
16 Tua ahikom thongtak te sung ah Barabbas a kici a minthang mama khat om hi.
and they had then a notorious malefactor named Barabbas.
17 Tua ahikom mipite hong ki kaikhop ciang, Pilate in amate tung ah, kua na suaktasak nuam uh ziam? Barabbas maw, Christ a kici Jesus? ci hi.
Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you?
18 Banghangziam cile Pilate in amate in Jesus sia el ahikom hong ap hi, ci he hi.
Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ? for he knew that out of envy they had delivered Him up.
19 Pilate sia thukhenna tokhum tung a to ciang in, a zi in mikhat sawl in, hi thutangpa tung ah bangma vawt heak in, banghangziam cile tuni ka mang sung ah ama hang in tampitak thuak khi hi, ci hi.
(And while he was sitting on the tribunal, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that righteous man: for I have suffered much in a dream to day on his account.)
20 Ahihang thiampi lian te le upa te in mihonpi te sia Barabbas ngen tu le Jesus that tu in hol uh hi.
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the common people to ask for Barabbas, and so to destroy Jesus.
21 Pilate in hi ni te sung pan a kua suatak tu dei nu ziam? ci in a dok ciang, amate in Barabbas suatak tu dei khu hi, ci uh hi.
And the governor said to them, Which of the two would you have me release to you? and they said, Barabbas.
22 Tua a hile Christ a kici Jesus sia banglaw tu khi ziam? ci in Pilate in a dok ciang in, amate theampo in, thinglamte tung ah khaina thuak tahen, ci uh hi.
What shall I do then, saith Pilate, with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all cried out, Let Him be crucified.
23 Taciang ngam uk pa in, banghangziam, bang khialna vawt ziam? a ci ciang in, amate in thinglamte tung ah ki khai tahen, ci in au seseam uh hi.
And the governor said, Why, what evil hath He done? but they cried out the more, saying, Let Him be crucified.
24 Pilate in zo nawn ngawl khi hi, mipi te ngamlum siat hi, ci a mu ciang, tui la in, a khut sil a, hi a thutang pa thisan pan ka thiang hi: no ma khensat tavun, ci hi.
Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just man, look ye to it:
25 Tasiaciang in mi theampo in, hi sia pa i thisan koma le ka tate tung ah om tahen, ci tek uh hi.
and all the people answered and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
26 Taciang Pilate in Barabas suatak a: Jesus sia a sat zawkciang thinglamte tung ah khai tu in ap hi.
Then he released to them Barabbas: but he ordered Jesus to be scourged, and delivered Him to be crucified.
27 Tua zawkciang Pilate ngalkap te in Jesus sia ngam uk pa inn ah paipui uh a, ngalkap hon bup sia ama kim ah kikhawm hi.
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the hall, and gathered the whole band about Him:
28 Amate in a puan te sutkeak in, puan sannum silsak uh hi.
and when they had stript Him, they covered Him with a scarlet robe;
29 Amate in lingtaw a ki pheak ling lukhu sia a lu tung ah khusak uh a, a ziatsang khut ah phai kung khat toaisak uh hi: taciang a mai ah khupdin in, Judah te kumpipa! na khansau tahen, ci in selno uh hi.
and having platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before Him in derision, saying, Hail king of the Jews:
30 Amate in ama tung ah cilphi uh a, a phaikung la in a lu pan vel uh hi.
and they spit upon Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
31 Tabang in a selno uh zawkciang a puan tual hawksak kik in, ama puan silsakkik hi, tua zawkciang thinglamte tung ah khen tu in paipui uh hi.
And after they had thus abused Him, they took off the scarlet robe from Him, and put on Him his own clothes, and led Him away to be crucified.
32 Tabang in a paipui uh laitak, Sairin khuami Simon taw kisi uh a: thinglamte zawthawk thu taw puasak uh hi.
And as they were going along they met with a man of Cyrene, whose name was Simon; and forced him to carry the cross.
33 Amate in Golgotha a kici lu ngu mual a thet uh ciang in,
And when they were come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say,
34 Jesus sia sapittui le a kha a kihel pia uh a: ama in tep bek a, dawn nuam ngawl hi.
the place of a skull, they gave Him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: but when He had tasted it, He would not drink.
35 Jesus sia thinglamte tung ah khai uh a, a puan te a khen zawk uh ciang in, aisan nataw hawm uh hi: tua thu sia kamsangpa sonkholna, amate in ka puan te sia aisan in hawm uh hi, ci thu a tangtunna a hihi.
And after they had fixed Him to the cross, they parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
36 Tua zawkciang tua mun ah to in ama encik uh hi.
And they sat down and watched Him there: and put up over his head his accusation in writing,
37 A lu tung san ah mawsiatna lai, HI SIA JUDAH TE KUMPIPA JESUS HI ci in at uh hi.
THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 Ama taw nguta ni te zong a ziatsang ah khat, a veisang zong ah a dang khat, thinglamte tung ah khai uh hi.
And there were two thieves crucified with Him: one on his right hand, and one on the left.
39 Lampi ah a vak te in zong nu nau in, a lu thin uh a;
And they that passed by reviled Him, shaking their heads,
40 Biakinn pheltham in nithum sung asakik tu pa, nangma le nangma ki hun in. Pathian Tapa na hile, thinglamte tung pan tuaksuk in, ci uh hi.
and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it again in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 Tasia bangma in thiampi lian te, thukhamhil te le, upa te zong in nu nau in,
And in like manner the chief priests also insulting Him, with the scribes and elders,
42 Ama in ngualdang ngum thei a, ama le ama ki ngum thei ngawl hi. Ama sia Israel te kumpipa a hile thinglamte tung pan tu mama in tuak hen a, tasiaciang in ka um tu uh hi, ci uh hi.
said, He saved others, himself He cannot save: if He be the king of Israel, let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe Him:
43 Ama in Pathian muang a; keima sia Pathian Tapa khi hi, ci a hi ciang, tu mama in Pathian in suaktasak hen: ci in nu nau tek uh hi.
He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will own Him; for He said, I am the Son of God.
44 Ama taw thinglamte tung ah a ki khai nguta te zong in, tabangma in nu nau uh hi.
And one of the thieves also, that were crucified with Him, cast the same reproach upon Him.
45 Sun nai sawmleni pan nitak sang nai thum dong leitung theampo khuazing hi.
Now from the sixth hour to the ninth there was darkness over all the land.
46 Nai thum kim ciang in, Jesus sia a nging tatak in, Eli, Eli, Lama sabachthani? ci in au hi, a khiakna sia, Ka Pathian, Ka Pathian, banghang in hong taisan ni ziam? a cinopna hi.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani," that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
47 Tua mun ah a ding te pawlkhat in a zak uh ciang in, Elijah sam hi, ci uh hi.
And some of them that stood by, hearing Him, said, He calls upon Elias:
48 Tasia pociang amate sung pan khat tai a, tuihup puan la in, sapittui hau sung ah a papsuk zawkciang, phaikung dawn ah hen in, Jesus dawn tu in pia hi.
and immediately one of them ran, and took a spunge, and having filled it with vinegar put it upon a reed, and offered it Him to drink;
49 A dang te in, ngak hi vun, Elijah ama hun tu in hongpai tha tu hi, ci en tawng, ci uh hi.
the rest said, Stay, let us see whether Elias will come and save Him.
50 Jesus ngingtak in au kik in thi hi.
But Jesus cried out again with a loud voice; and then gave up the ghost.
51 Taciang in, en vun, biakinn sung sang kidalna puan sia a lu pan a taw dong ki khen ni in ki khen suk hi; zin zong ling in, suangtum te zong kektham a,
And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom, and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split:
52 Thankul te ki hong in; a thisa mithiangtho tampi te thokik hi,
and the graves opened, and many bodies of departed saints arose,
53 Amate than sung pan pusuak uh a, Jesus thawkik zawkciang in, khuapi thiangtho sung ah pai uh a, mi tampi te kung ah kilang uh hi.
and coming out of the graves, after his resurrection, went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 Ngalkap zakhat uk pa le a kung ah om te in Jesus en in, zinling le thupiang dang te a mu uh ciang in, lau mama uh a, hisia pa Pathian Tapa tatak hi, ci uh hi.
And when the centurion, and they that were with him guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake, and what was done, they were sore afraid, and said, This was indeed the Son of God.
55 Galilee pan Jesus a zui te le a khoi numei tampi te in, a khuala na pan en tek uh hi:
And several women were there looking on at a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministring unto Him:
56 Tua numei te sung ah Mary Magdalene, James le Joses te nu Mary le Zebedee zi zong ki hel hi.
among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.
57 Nitak sang ciang in, Arimathea khua pan mihau pa khat hongpai hi, a min sia Joseph kici a, Jesus nungzui khat a hihi:
And in the evening, there came a rich man of Arimathea, whose name was Joseph, who also himself was a disciple of Jesus, and went to Pilate,
58 Ama sia Pilate kung ah pai a, Jesus luanghawm ngen hi. Tasiaciang Pilate in Jesus luanghawm piak tu in thupia hi.
and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered the body to be delivered to him;
59 Taciang Joseph in Jesus luanghawm a lak zawkciang, puanneam thiang taw tun in,
and Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 Ama atu in a taw suang hawng thankul sung ah vui hi: than kongkha ah suangtum lian mama khat lik in a kha zawkciang pai hi.
and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had had cut out in the rock; and when he had rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, he went away:
61 Mary Magdalene le a dang Mary te sia tua mun ah thankul sang nga in to uh hi.
but there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary sitting over against the sepulchre.
62 Ki ngin ni a zingciang in, thiampi lian te le Pharisee te Pilate kung ah hongpai uh a,
Now the next day after the preparation, the chief priests and pharisees went together to Pilate, saying, Sir, we remember that this impostor,
63 Topa awng, tua leilot thu son pa in a nuntak lai in, nithum zawkciang thokik tu khi hi, a ci sia phawkkik khu hi, ci uh hi.
when He was alive, said, After three days I will rise again:
64 A nungzui te zan ciang hongpai in a luanghawm ngu a, thina pan thokik zo hi: ci in midang te tung ah son a hile, a nungsang thu sia a masa sang in poimaw zaw tu hi, tua ahiciang a than sia nithum dong cing tu in thupia in, ci uh hi.
order therefore the sepulchre to be secured till the third day, least his disciples should come and steal Him away, and tell the people, He is risen from the dead: and so the last error will be worse than the first.
65 Pilate in amate tung ah, a cing tu nei nu hi: pai tavun a, na hitheitawp in vawt vun, ci hi.
But Pilate said to them, Ye have a guard of your own, go and make it as secure as ye will.
66 Tua ahikom amate zong than ah pai in, thankul kha na suangpheak tung ah ceptena khen in, a cing te koi uh hi.
So they went and made the sepulchre safe, sealing the stone, and setting a guard to watch it.
