< Hebrews 7 >

1 Banghangziam cile hi Melchizedek sia, Salem kumpi, a sangbel Pathian i thiampi hi a, ama in kumpi te a thalup na pan in hong cia kik Abraham taw ki mu a, thupha pia hi;
For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
2 Ama tung ah Abraham in se sawm sua se khat zong pia hi; a masabel in a min khiatna sia thutang suana Kumpi kici a, tua zawkciang in Salem Kumpi, a khiakna sia thinnopna Kumpi a hihi;
to whom also Abraham divided "a tenth part of everything" (being first, by interpretation, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace;
without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God), remains a priest continually.
4 Tu in hisia pa sia bangza in thupi, ci sia ngaisun vun, minam kipatna i pu Abraham na ngawn ngal te van a laksak te sung pan in se sawm sua se khat pia hi.
Now consider how great this man was, to whom even Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the most valuable plunder.
5 Thiampi hi na a nga Levi tapa te in mipi te tung pan in se sawm sua se khat nga thei natu in thupiak nei takpi hi, amate i suapui te sia Abraham sung pan a suak te a hihi:
They indeed of the sons of Levi who receive the priest's office have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the Law, that is, of their brothers, though these have come out of the body of Abraham,
6 Ahihang Levi minam sung a kisimngawl Melchizedek in Abraham tung pan in se sawm sua se khat sang a, kamciam te a nei Abraham thupha pia hi.
but he whose genealogy is not counted from them has accepted tithes from Abraham, and has blessed him who has the promises.
7 A nozaw sia a lianzaw in thupha a piak sia langpan tu bangma om ngawl hi.
But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.
8 Taciang hi mun ah a thi thei mihing te in se sawm sua se khat sang hi; ahihang tua mun ah a nungta hi, ci in tettipan na pa in se sawm sua se khat sang hi.
Here people who die receive tithes, but there one receives tithes of whom it is testified that he lives.
9 Taciang se sawm sua se khat a sang Levi zong Abraham sung pan in se sawm sua se khat pia hi, i ci thei hi.
We can say that through Abraham even Levi, who receives tithes, has paid tithes,
10 Banghangziam cile Melchizedek in Abraham a mu lai in Levi sia a pa sung ah omlai hi.
for he was yet in the body of his father when Melchizedek met him.
11 Tua ahikom Levi thiampi hina taw a kisai mihing te in thukham sang uh ahikom, tua minam tungtawn in picinna ah theng thei hile, Aaron bang thiampi dang sam ngawl in Melchizedek bang a dang thiampi banghang kul tu ziam?
Now if there was perfection through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people have received the law), what further need was there for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
12 Banghangziam cile thiampi hi na lai zo ahikom in, thukham zong lai kul hamtang hi.
For the priesthood being changed, there is of necessity a change made also in the law.
13 Banghangziam cile hi a son uh sia phungdang pan hi a, tua phung sung ah kuama in biaktau ah naseam ngei ngawl hi.
For he of whom these things are said belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
14 Banghangziam cile i Topa sia Judah sung pan in hong piang hi, ci kilang hi; tua phung sia Moses in thiampi a hina taw kizui in bangma son ngawl hi.
For it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Judah, about which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.
15 Banghangziam cile Melchizedek bang a dang thiampi hong piang ahikom thiampi minam kilai zo hi, ci hong kilang seseam hi,
This is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another priest,
16 Tua thiampi sia cilesa thupiakna bang in a kivawt hi ngawl a, a mong nei ngawl nuntak na i vangletna bang in a kivawt a hihi.
who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:
17 Banghangziam cile, nangma sia Melchizedekk bang in tawntung thiampi na hihi, ci in ama in tettipang hi. (aiōn g165)
for it is testified, "You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek." (aiōn g165)
18 Banghangziam cile nidang lai a ki pia thupiak sia thaneam le phatuam ngawl ahikom, kivawk takpi hi.
For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness
19 Banghangziam cile thukham in bangma kicingsak ngawl hi, ahihang a phazaw lametna hong paipui a; tua lametna taw Pathian kung ah i neak thei hi.
(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
20 Taciang ama sia thukham om ngawl in thiampi a ki suaksak hi ngawl hi:
Inasmuch as he was not made priest without the taking of an oath,
21 Banghangziam cile tua thiampi te sia thukham om ngawl in thiampi a ki suaksak te a hihi; ahihang Jesus sia thukham taw ahikom in, Topa in kiciam a, ki sikkik ngawl tu hi, nangma sia Melchizedek bang in tawntung thiampi na hihi, ci hi: (aiōn g165)
for they indeed have been made priests without an oath, but he with an oath by him that says of him, "The Lord swore and will not change his mind, 'You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.'" (aiōn g165)
22 Tabang in Jesus sia a phazaw kamciam kipsak pa hong suak hi.
Accordingly Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.
23 Taciang amate thiampi tampi om takpi hi, banghangziam cile thina hang in thiampi seam suak thei ngawl hi:
Many, indeed, have been made priests, because they are hindered from continuing by death.
24 Ahihang Jesus sia nungta paisuak ahikom a ki lai thei ngawl thiampi hina nei hi. (aiōn g165)
But he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable. (aiōn g165)
25 Tua ahikom Ama tungtawn in Pathian kung a pai te sia a tawpdong in ngum thei a, amate atu thungetsak tu in a tawntung in nungta hi.
Therefore he is also able to save completely those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.
26 Banghangziam cile, tabang in a thiangtho, mawna nei ngawl, a niin ngawl, mawnei te taw omkhawm ngawl le van sang a sang zaw in a vawt thiampi sang sia eite atu hong suak hi;
For such a high priest was indeed fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Ama sia, tua thiampi sang te in, amate mawna atu biakpiakna pia masa a, tua zawkciang in mipi atu a pia te bang in nisim piak kul ngawl hi: banghangziam cile Ama le Ama biakpiakna a kipiak ciang in khatvei taw man hi.
who does not need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices daily, first for his own sins, and then for those of the people. For he did this once for all, when he offered up himself.
28 Banghangziam cile thukham in thaneamna a nei mihing te thiampi sang in vawt hi; ahihang thukham pan kipan in a kiciamna thu in tawntung kicinna Tapa sia thiampi sang in vawt hi. (aiōn g165)
For the Law appoints men as high priests who have weakness, but the word of the oath which came after the Law appoints a Son forever who has been perfected. (aiōn g165)
