< 1 Timothy 3 >
1 Ni tawpkhak sang ciang haksatna hun tampi hong theng tu hi, ci zong phawk in.
Be sure of this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
People will be selfish, mercenary, boastful, haughty, and blasphemous; disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, impure,
incapable of affection, merciless, slanderous, wanting in self-control, brutal, careless of the right,
4 Thukham paltan te, lungtang khauh te, ama le ama a ki thupisak te, Pathian sang in ama lungkimna a dei zaw te;
treacherous, reckless, and puffed up with pride; they will love pleasure more than they love God;
and while they retain the outward form of religion, they will not allow it to influence them. Turn your back on such people as these.
6 Banghangziam cile tabang mihing te sia innsung ah tum in mawna vanngit a pua numei mawmaw te man a, cilesa deina a tatuam taw zol siat hi,
For among them are to be found those who creep into homes and captivate weak women – women who, loaded with sins, and slaves to all kinds of passions,
7 Sin napi, thuman heakna ah theng zo ngawl hi.
are always learning, and yet never able to attain to a real knowledge of the truth.
8 Jannes le Jambres te in Moses a khak uh bang in, hi te in zong thuman khak uh hi: hi te sia thinsung pha ngawl le upna taw kisai ngina ngawl uh hi.
Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these people, in their turn, oppose the truth. Their minds are corrupted, and, as regards the faith, they are utterly worthless.
9 Ahihang Jannes le Jambres te mawmawtna a kilang bang in, hi te i mawmawtna zong mi theampo mai ah kilang tu ahikom, a khuala mama dong paipui thei ngawl tu hi.
They will not, however, make further progress; for their wicked folly will be plain to everyone, just as the folly Jannes and Jambres was.
But you, Timothy, were a close observer of my teaching, my conduct, my purposes, my faith, my forbearance, my love, and my patient endurance,
11 Antioch, Iconium le Lystra ah ka kung hong theng vawtsiatna te, haksatna te, ka thuakna te a kicing in na he siat zo hi: ahihang tua te theampo sung pan Topa in hong suaktasak hi.
as well as of my persecutions, and of the sufferings which I met with at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. You know what persecutions I underwent; and yet the Lord brought me safe out of all!
12 Hi hi, taciang, Christ Jesus sung ah Pathianmi hi na bang in a nungta theampo in vawtsiatna thuak tu hi.
Yes, and all who aim at living a religious life in union with Christ Jesus will have to suffer persecution;
13 Ahihang mipha ngawl le ngual theam te kisia seseam tu hi, taciang amate in ngual theam tu a, amate zong ngual in theam tu hi.
but wicked people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and deceived themselves.
14 Ahihang nang na hile na sinsa le a khotak in na upna thu te sia kua kung pan sin khi ziam, ci na heak ahikom, tua thu sung ah om paisuak in;
You, however, must stand by what you learnt and accepted as true. You know who they were from whom you learnt it;
15 Laithiangtho sia na nolai pan in na heaksa hi zo a, tua laithiangtho sia Christ Jesus na upna tungtawn in ngupna ah theng tu in hong pilsak thei tu hi.
and that, from your childhood, you have known the sacred writings, which can give you the wisdom that, through belief in Christ Jesus, leads to salvation.
All scripture is God-breathed: helpful for teaching, for refuting error, for giving guidance, and for training others in righteousness;
17 Tabang in Pathian i mihing sia picing tu a, nasep pha theampo atu in ki cialcingsak tu hi.
so that God’s people may be capable and equipped for good work of every kind.
