1 Timothy 2
1 Tua ahikom ka tapa awng, Christ Jesus i thuthiamna sung ah thahat in.
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus:
2 Tetti tampi sung ah, ka tung pan na zak thu te sia, ngualdang a hil sawn thei a muantak mihing te tung ah ap in.
and the things which thou hast heard from me, before many witnesses, these commit to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Tua ahikom Jesus Christ i ngalkap pha bang in, haksatna thuak in.
Do thou therefore endure hardship, as becomes a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 Ngalkap tu in hong teal sia lungkimsak thei natu in, ngalsim te in hi leitung nuntakna nasep dang tatuam taw ngawmkhawm bialbual ngawl hi.
No one, that enters into military service, embarrasseth himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him.
5 Taciang mi khat in kidemna ah kidem napi, ngeina bang in a kidem bua ahile, kham lukhu nga ngawl tu hi.
And if any one contend in the public games, he gains not the crown unless he contend fairly.
6 Lo thopa zong naseam masa tu a, tua zawkciang in lo an te nei pheang tu hi.
The husbandman must labour first, in order to partake of the fruits.
7 Kong son te na ngaisun tawntung in; taciang Topa in na theampo ah heak theina hong pia tahen.
Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
8 Keima lungdamna thupha bang in David i suan Jesus Christ sia thina pan thokik hi, ci zong phawk tawntung in:
Remember Jesus Christ of the seed of David, who was raised from the dead, according to my gospel:
9 Tua lungdamna thupha hang in, na pha ngawl vawt bang in haksatna sia lehhenna dong ka thuak hi; ahihang Pathian thu sia ki hencip thei ngawl hi.
for whose sake I suffer trouble even unto bonds, as if I were a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.
10 Tua ahikom Pathian tealsa te in, Christ Jesus sung ah tawntung minthanna taw ngupna a nga thei natu in na theampo ka thuak hi. (aiōnios g166)
Therefore I submit to every thing for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is by Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)
11 Banghangziam cile Ama taw i thile, Ama taw i nungta veve tu hi:
It is an undoubted truth, if we are dead with Him, we shall also live with Him:
12 I thuak ahile, Ama taw i uk veve tu hi: Ama i nial ahile, Ama in zong hong nial tu hi:
if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we disown Him, He will also disown us.
13 I um bua zong in, Ama sia thuman tawntung hi: Ama le ama ki nial thei ngawl hi, ci sia a thuman kammal a hihi.
If we are unfaithful, He continueth faithful notwithstanding; He cannot renounce Himself.
14 Hi thu te phawk tawntung tu in son in, bangma a phatuam ngawl, thu nei te susia zaw ahikom in, thu ki nial ngawl tu in Topa mai ah vaitha in.
These things remind them of, charging them before the Lord not to contend about words, which is profitable for nothing, and tends to the subversion of the hearers.
15 Nangma sia Pathian i heakpui le a san tak, maizum kul ngawl naseam, thuman thu a mantak in a khentel thei hi tu in, hanciamtak in laisim in.
Endeavour to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 Ahihang leitung ngeina le a mannung ngawl kammal te pial in: banghangziam cile tua te in Pathian nei ngawl nuntakzia te khangsak seseam hi.
But avoid prophane empty harangues; for they will proceed to more impiety,
17 Taciang amate kammal in khensa bang in hong ne tu hi: tua te sung ah Hymenaeus le Philetus te kihel hi;
and their discourse will eat like a gangrene. Of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus; who have erred from the truth,
18 Amate in thawkikna sia kantan zo hi, ci uh a, thuman taw kisai in khial uh hi; taciang pawlkhat te i upna lumlet siat hi.
saying that the resurrection is already past; and subvert the faith of some.
19 Ahitazong Pathian i doppha sa sia khin ngawl in ding paisuak a, Pathian in Ama mite he hi, ci le Christ min a lo peuma in phatngawlna sia nusia tahen, ci ceptena siil nei hi.
However, the foundation of God standeth firm, having this inscription, The Lord knoweth them that are his; and, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 Ahihang inn lianpi sung ah kham le ngun taw a kivawt um le beal te bek hi ngawl in, thing le lei taw a kivawt te zong om hi, pawlkhat te ki thupisak a, pawlkhat te ki thupisak ngawl hi.
In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, some for meaner uses.
21 Tua ahikom mi khatpo in amate le amate a ki thiangsak le, ama sia a thupi beal hi tu a, thiansakna topa i zak thei le nasep pha papo atu in a kinging khol pa a hihi.
If therefore any one purify himself from these corruptions, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified and fitted for the Master's use, being prepared for every good work.
22 Khangno lai cilesa deina nusia in a: thutang suana, upna, itna le thinnopna te sia a thiangtho thinsung pan in Topa a sam te taw del in.
Flee youthful passions: and follow righteousness, fidelity, love, and peace, with all those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart:
23 Ahihang a mawmaw le hilna nei ngawl te thudokna te sia ki nialna piangsak thei ci he na hikom pial in.
but foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they produce quarrels; for the servant of the Lord ought not to wrangle,
24 Taciang Topa i sila sia ngual taw a kihau te hi heak tahen; ahihang mi theampo tung ah a thinsau, ngual a hil thei le a thuakzo,
but to be gentle towards all men, ready to teach, patient under injuries,
25 Ama a langpan te sia thinsauna taw a hil te hi tu hi; thuman lungkimpui tu in Pathian in maw ki sikkik na pha pia thei hi;
with meekness instructing those of different sentiments, not knowing but God may give them repentance to the acknowledgement of the truth;
26 Tabang in doaimangpa i deina bang in a mat thak te in thang sung pan in suaktak kik thei tu hi.
and they may awake out of the snare of the devil, who have been captivated by him to his will.
