1 Timothy 1

Pavl an Apostle of Iesvs Christ, by the commandement of God our Sauiour, and of our Lord Iesus Christ our hope,

Vnto Timotheus my naturall sonne in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Iesus our Lord.

3 Mi pawlkhat te hilna dang hil ngawl tu in, na vaithak thei na tu, Macedonia ka pai lai in, Ephesus ah om nginge tu in nangma kong thum zo hi,

As I besought thee to abide still in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, so doe, that thou mayest warne some, that they teach none other doctrine,

4 Phuatawm tangthu te le tawp hun nei ngawl khang thu te thupisak ngawl tu in vaitha in, tabang te in ki nialna piangsak a, Pathian mi hi na lamsang khangtosak ngawl hi.

Neither that they giue heede to fables and genealogies which are endles, which breede questions rather then godly edifying which is by fayth.

5 Tu in thupiakna a tawpna sia a thiangtho thinsung, khentel thei na pha le upna tatak sung pan in a piang itna a hihi:

For the end of the commandement is loue out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained.

6 Tua thu pan in pawlkhat te lampial uh a mannung ngawl kammal sang ah kihei uh hi;

From the which things some haue erred, and haue turned vnto vaine iangling.

7 Amate i son te le amate in kipsak a hi hunlam zong he ngawl in, thukhamhil sya te hi nuam lai uh hi.

They would be doctours of the Law, and yet vnderstande not what they speake, neither whereof they affirme.

8 Ahihang mi khat in thukham bang in a zang ahile thukham sia pha hi, ci i he hi;

And we knowe, that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully,

9 Hi thu ciamte in, thukham sia mi thutang te atu in a ki vawt hi ngawl hi, ahihang thukham nei ngawl te le thu ni ngawl te, Pathian nei ngawl te le mawnei te, a thiangtho ngawl te le Pathian a thusimngawl te, pa te a that te le nu te a that te,

Knowing this, that the Lawe is not giuen vnto a righteous man, but vnto the lawles and disobedient, to the vngodly, and to sinners, to the vnholy, and to the prophane, to murtherers of fathers and mothers, to manslayers,

10 Pumpi ki zuak pa te, pa le pa paktat te, mihing ngu te, leilot thu son te, leilot kamciam vawt te, hil na man langpan te atu a hihi;

To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to lyers, to the periured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine,

11 Tabang hilna man sia thupha Pathian i lungdamna thupha vanglian taw ki phu ngawl a, keima tung ah hong ap hi.

Which is according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which is committed vnto me.

12 Taciang hong thahatsak i Topa Christ Jesus lungdam ka ko hi, banghangziam cile Ama in thuman in hong ngaisun a, Pathian nasepna sung ah hong koi hi;

Therefore I thanke him, which hath made me strong, that is, Christ Iesus our Lord: for he counted me faithfull, and put me in his seruice:

When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and an oppresser: but I was receiued to mercie: for I did it ignorantly through vnbeliefe.

14 Taciang i Topa i thuthiamna sia Christ Jesus sung ah upna le itna taw dim in let hi.

But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and loue, which is in Christ Iesus.

15 Christ Jesus sia mawnei te ngum tu in hileitung ah hongpai hi, a ci sia a thuman kammal hi a, a vekpi in san tak hi; tua mawnei te sung ah keima sia a mawbel ka hihi.

This is a true saying, and by all meanes worthy to be receiued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe.

16 Ahihang nidang ciang in tawntung nuntakna atu a um lai tu te atu ettte tu in, keima mawneibel tung ah Jesus Christ in a thinsauna theampo hong kilangsak a, a hesuakna ka sang hi. (aiōnios g166)

Notwithstanding, for this cause was I receiued to mercie, that Iesus Christ should first shewe on me all long suffering vnto the ensample of them, which shall in time to come beleeue in him vnto eternall life. (aiōnios g166)

This commandement commit I vnto thee, sonne Timotheus, according to the prophecies, which went before vpon thee, that thou by them shouldest fight a good fight,

19 Na upna kholet in, thinsung thiangtho na nei tan. Mihing pawlkhat a thinsung uh pan, a piang thu te um ngawlin upna lalsak uh hi.

Hauing faith and a good conscience, which some haue put away, and as concerning faith, haue made shipwracke.

20 Tuate sung ah, Haimenias le Alexander zong kihel a; amate sia mindaisak ngawl tu in a sin thei na tu Satan tung ah ka ap zo hi.

Of whom is Hymeneus, and Alexander, whom I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they might learne not to blaspheme.
