1 A kipat pan in i zak, i mit taw i mu, i et le i khut taw i tham, nuntakna Thu;
We write to you about the Word of life, which has been in existence from the beginning. We write of what we have heard, of what we have seen with our eyes, of what we watched reverently and touched with our hands.
2 Tua nuntakna sia hong kilang zo a, kote in ka mu uh hi, taciang tettipang in tua nuntakna thu kong lak uh hi, taciang kote tung ah hong kilang zo hi; (aiōnios g166)
That life was made visible, and we have seen it. We bear our testimony to it, and tell you of that eternal life which was with the Father and was made visible to us. (aiōnios g166)
3 Kote Pa le a Tapa Jesus Christ taw a kipawl takpi te ka hi uhkom in, note zong kote taw ki pawlkhopna nei tu in: ka mu uh le ka zak uh te sia note tung ah kong pualak uh hi.
It is of what we have seen and heard that we now tell you, so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
4 Na lungdamna uh a pawlcin thei natu in, hi thu te note tung ah kong at uh hi.
We are writing all this to you that our joy may be complete.
5 Hi thu sia Ama kung pan ka zak uh thu hi a, note kung ah kong pualak zo uh hi, Pathian sia khuavak a hihi, taciang Ama sung ah khuazing om ngawl hi.
This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
6 Ama taw ki pawlkhopna ka nei uh hi, ci napi, khuazing sung ah i nungta lai le, thuman taw nungta ngawl in, leilot thu son i hihi:
If we say that we have fellowship with him and yet continue to walk in the darkness, our words and our lives are a lie.
7 Ahihang Ama sia khuavak sung ah a om bang in, eite zong khuavak sung ah i nungta ahile, khat le khat ki pawlkhopna nei a, a Tapa Jesus Christ thisan in i mawna theampo pan hong thiangsak hi.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 Mawna ka nei bua hi, i cile, eima le eima a ki theam i hihi, taciang eite sung ah thuman a om bua hi.
If we say, ‘we have no sin,’ then we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 Eite i mawna i pualak le, i mawna te ki maisak tu le thuman ngawlna theampo pan thiangsak tu in, Ama sia thuman in thutang hi.
If we confess our sins, he is just and may be trusted to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
10 Mawna ka vawt bua hi i cile, Pathian sia leilot thu son i suaksak hi, taciang a Thu sia eite sung ah a om bua hi.
If we say that we haven’t sinned, we make God a liar, and his Word is not in us.
