Look at how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this cause the world does not know us, because it did not know him.

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.

Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.

You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him is no sin.

Whoever remains in him does not sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.

Children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. (aiōnios g166)
16 Christ in eite atu a nuntakna hongpiak hu in Pathian itna i he hi: taciang eite zong i suapui te atu in i nuntakna i piak tu a hihi.
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17 Ahihang a kuamapo leitung nate nei a, a suapui pa in kisapna nei hi, ci mu nginge napi hesuakna a nei bale, bangbang in ama sung ah Pathian itna om thei tu ziam?
But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
18 Ka tano te awng, kam le leii bek hi ngawl in; sepna le thuman taw ki it tawng.
Little children, let us not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
19 Tabang in i ki it le eite thuman taw i kizopna i he hi, taciang Pathian mai ah i thin hong kho tu hi.
And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him,
20 Banghangziam cile i thinsung in hong mawsak le, Pathian sia i thinsung sang in lianzaw a, na theampo he hi.
because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21 Ka it te awng, eite i thinsung in hong mawsak bua ahile, Pathian sang ah thinmuanna i nei hi.
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
22 Taciang bangpo i ngen zong in, Pathian tung pan in i nga hi, banghangziam cile a thupiak te i zui hu le Ama mai ah a lungkim nate i sep hang a hihi.
and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 Pathian thupiak sia, a Tapa Jesus Christ min up tu le, Ama in thu hongpiaksa bang in khat le khat ki it tu thu a hihi.
This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded us.
24 Pathian thupiak te a keamcing peuma sia Ama sung ah om a, ama zong Pathian sung ah om hi. Pathian i hongpiak Thaa hang in, eite sung ah Ama hong om hi, ci i he hi.
He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
