1 Ka tate awng, mawna na vawt ngawl natu uh in, hi thu te at in kong thak hi. Mi khatpo in mawna a vawt le, Pa kung ah hong thuumsak tu a thutang Jesus Christ i nei hi:

My little children, I write these things unto you, that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 Ama sia eite bek dom ngawl, leitungbup i mawna theampo atu in Pathian thin-ukna a dapsak pa a hihi.

And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

3 Ama i he hi, ci thu sia, a thupiak te i zui na tungtawn in i telthiang hi.

And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep his commandments.

4 Ama ka he hi, ci napi, a thupiak te a zui ngawl peuma, leilot hi, taciang a sung ah thuman a om bua hi.

He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 Ahihang a kuamapo a Thu a keamcing peuma sia, ama sung ah Pathian itna pawlcing takpi hi: tabang in eite in Ama sung ah i om hi, ci sia i he hi.

But whosoever keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: and by this we know that we are in Him.

6 Jesus sung ah ka om nginge hi, a ci peuma sia Ama nuntakzia bang in a nuntak kul hi.

He that saith, he abideth in Him, ought himself also so to walk even as He walked.

7 Suapui te awng, note tung ah thupiak a thak hong at ngawl khi hi, ahihang a kipatcil pan na neisa uh thupiak lui a hihi. Thupiak a lui sia a kipatcil pan na zaksa uh thu a hihi.

Brethren, I write not a new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: the old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning:

8 Note tung ah thupiak a thak kong at kik hi, tua thu sia Ama le note sung ah a maan a hihi: banghangziam cile khuazing bo a, khuavak tatak sia tu in hong tang hi.

though I write it again as a new commandment, which is truth in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

9 Khuavak sung ah ka om hi, ci napi, a suapui a ensan peuma, tu dong in khuazing sung ah omlai hi.

Now he that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is still in darkness:

10 Ama suapui a it peuma sia khuavak sung ah om hi, taciang ama sung ah puna om ngawl hi.

whereas, he that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and is in no danger of stumbling.

11 Ahihang a suapui a ensan peuma khuazing sung ah om in nungta hi, taciang a paina mun zong a he bua hi, banghangziam cile khuazing in a mitte tawsak siat hi.

But he, that hateth his brother, is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not where he goeth, because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.

12 Tano te awng, na mawna uh te Ama min taw hong ki maisak sa ahikom note tung ah lai kong at hi.

I write unto you, little children, because for his sake your sins are forgiven you:

13 Pa te awng, a kipatcil pan in Ama he na hi uhkom in, note tung ah lai kong at hi. Khangno te awng, ngilopa na zaw uh hu in note tung ah lai kong at hi. tano te awng, Pa na heak uh hu in note tung ah lai kong at hi.

I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning: and I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. Yea I have written to you, little children, because ye have known the Father:

14 Pa te awng, a kipat pan in Ama he na hi uhkom in, note tung ah lai kong at hi. Khangno te na thahat uh a, note sung ah Pathian Thu a om hu in, mi ngilopa a zo na hi uh hi, tua ahikom note tung ah lai kong at hi.

I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning: and I have written to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one---

15 Leitung le a sung a om nate it heak vun. Akua mapo in leitung a it le, ama sung ah pa itna om ngawl hi.

Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world; for if any one love the world to excess, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 Banghangziam cile leitung ah a om na theampo, cilesa deina, mit taw iplakna le nuntakna i kiphatsakna te sia Pa i neisa hi ngawl a, leitung i neisa a hihi.

For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but of the world.

17 Leitung le a iplakna te bosiat hi: ahihang Pathian deina a vawt peuma a tawntung in kip hi. (aiōn g165)

And the world passeth away, and the desire of it: but he, that doth the will of God, abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)

18 Tano te awng, hi sia hun tawpkhak a hihi: na zak uh sa bang in, Christ ngalpa hongpai tu hi, tu zong Christ ngalte tam mama om zo hi; tua ahikom eite in hi sia in hun tawpkhakbel a hihi, ci sia i he hi.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that an antichrist will come, there are even now many antichrists, whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 Amate sia eite kung pan pusuak uh hi, ahihang amate sia eima mihing hi ngawl hi; banghangziam cile eima mihing te hile, eite taw hong om paisuak tu hi, ci uplak natu om ngawl hi: ahihang amate a pusua hu in, eima mihing te hi nawn ngawl hi, ci kilangsak hi.

They went out from us, but they were not of us: for if they had been indeed of us, they would have continued with us; but this was done that they might be made manifest, because all, that are with us, are not indeed of us.

20 Ahihang note sia a Thiangtho Pa i sathau buakna na san uh hu in, na theampo na he uh hi.

And ye have an unction from the holy One, and know all.

21 Thuman na heak ngawl uh hu in note tung ah lai hong at ka hi bua hi, ahihang na heak uh hu le, leilot thu te sia thuman sung ah ki hel ngawl ahikom, kong at a hihi.

I have not therefore written to you, because ye know not the truth; but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Jesus sia Christ a hihi, ci thu a nial te simngawl akua leilot thu son om ziam? Ama sia Christ i ngalpa hi a, Pa le Tapa zong nial hi.

Who is a liar, if not he who denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, that denieth the Father as well as the Son;

23 Akua mapo Tapa a nial peuma Pa nei ngawl hi: ahihang Tapa a sang peuma Pa zong nei hi.

for whosoever denieth the Son, hath not the Father: but he that confesseth the Son acknowledgeth the Father also.

24 Tua ahikom a kipatcil pan in na zak uh thu sia note sung ah hong om tawntung tahen. A kipatcil pan na zak uh thu note sung ah om tawntung ahile, note sia Tapa le Pa sung ah a tawntung in na om tu uh hi.

Let that therefore, which ye have heard from the beginning, abide in you: for if that, which ye heard from the beginning, remain in you, ye also will remain in the Son and in the Father.

25 Taciang hi thu sia Ama in hong ciamsa kamciam hi a, nuntak tawntung na hong ciam hi. (aiōnios g166)

And this is the promise which He hath promised us, even eternal life. (aiōnios g166)

26 Hi thu te note kung ah kong at na sia note hong theam te thu a hihi.

These things have I written unto you concerning those who would seduce you.

27 Ahihang Ama kung pan na san uh sathau buak na sia note sung ah om tawntung hi, taciang kuama i hil na kul bua uh hi: ahihang tua sathau buakna in na theampo hong hil hi, taciang hi thu sia thuman hi a, leilot thu hi ngawl hi, note hong hil bangma in Ama sung ah, kip tavun.

But the unction, which ye have received from Him, abideth in you; and therefore ye have no need that any should teach you: since this very unction teacheth you concerning all things, and is truth and not falshood; even as that hath taught you, abide in Him.

28 Tu in tano te awng, Ama hong kilang ciang in, muanna i nei thei natu le Ama hongpai ciang in a mai ah i maizum ngawl natu in, Ama sung ah kip in om vun.

And now, little children, abide, I say, in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and may not be ashamed before Him at his coming.

29 Ama sia thuman hi, ci na he uh le, thutang suana a vawt te theampo sia Ama sung pan a piang a hi uh hi, ci na he uh hi.

If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one, who practiseth righteousness, is born of Him.
