Awicyih 2

1 Ka capa, kak awi ve do nawh kak awipek ve nak khuiawh na kym awhtaw,

My son, if thou wilt receive my sayings, and, my commandments, wilt treasure up by thee;

2 Cyihnaak ce nang haa ing ngai nawh, nak kawlung ing cyihnaak lam benna ang hawi awh- taw;

So that thou direct, unto wisdom, thine ear, bend thy heart, unto understanding;

3 Zaaksimnaak ce khy nawh, simthainaak ce nak khy awhtaw,

Yea if, for understanding, thou cry aloud, for knowledge, utter thy voice;

4 Tangka amyihna sui nawh, khawh amyihna na sui awhtaw,

If thou seek her as silver, and, like hid treasure, thou search for her,

5 Khawsa kqihchah lawthai kawm tik saw, Khawsa simthainaak ce ta kawp ti.

Then, shalt thou understand the reverence of Yahweh, and, the knowledge of God, shalt thou find.

6 Khawsa ingtaw cyihnaak pe thai nawh, am khaa awhkawng cyihnaak ingkaw zaaksimthainaak ce cawn sak thai hy:

For, Yahweh, giveth wisdom, out of his mouth, knowledge and understanding;

7 Ak thym thlangkhqi ham cyihnaak ak thym ce khoem nawh, ypawm ing ak khawsakhqi ce doen khqi hy.

Yea he treasureth, for the upright, safety, A shield [is he] to them who walk in integrity,

8 Ak thlangciimkhqi ing ak thymna khaw a mi sak naak ham a mi lam ce doen pek khqi hy.

To him that observeth the paths of justice, yea, the way of his men of lovingkindness, he doth guard.

9 Cawhce dyngnaak ingkaw ak thym awitlyknaak ce sim thai kawm tik saw, pekbonaak a taak kaana, lam leek boeih awm.

Then, shalt thou understand righteousness and justice, and equity—every noble course.

10 Nak kawlung khuiawh cyihnaak ce lut kawm saw, na hqingnaak hamna simthainaak ce ak aawi soeihna awm kaw;

When wisdom entereth thy heart, and, knowledge, to thy soul, is sweet,

11 Khawsimnaak ing ni khoemdoen kawm saw, khawsimthainaak ing ni hqin kaw;

Discretion, shall watch over thee, understanding, shall preserve thee: —

12 Thawlhnaak lam awhkawng a ni loet sak ham ingkaw amak thym awi ak kqawnkhqi lakawh kawng a nik loet sak hamna;

To rescue thee from the way of the wrongful, from the man that speaketh perverse things;

13 Cekkhqi ing taw seetnaak lamawh ceh ham lamdyng ce ceh taak unawh;

From them who forsake the paths of rectitude, to walk in the ways of darkness;

14 Theem amak leek sai ce ami ngaih kawina awm kawm saw, thawlh sainaak awh ce awmhly kawm uh;

Who rejoice to do wrong, exult in the perversities of the wrongful;

15 A mi lam taw kaawi nawh, ypnaak am cu hy.

Whose paths, are twisted, and they are tortuous in their tracks:

16 Nukche awhkawng ni loet sak nawh, a nik zoek ang lak awhkawng;

To rescue thee, from the woman that is a stranger, from the female unknown, who with her speeches seduceth;

17 A cacoen hui awhkaw pyi ceh ta nawh, A Khawsa awikam ak hilh ak thlang awhkawng ce.

Who forsaketh the friend of her youth, and, the covenant of her God, hath forgotten;

18 A im ing thihnaak lam ben mang nawh, a lam cehnaak ing thihnaak lam benna ce,

For she hath appointed, unto death, her house, and unto the shades, her courses;

19 A ven ak pha thlang boeih ing am voei voel ti kaw, hqingnaak lam ce am pan voel ti kawm uh;

None who go in unto her, come back, neither attain they unto the paths of life:

20 Thlakleek ceehnaak lamawh bang nawh, thlakdyng ceehnaak lamawh na ceeh naak thai ham.

To the end that thou walk in the way of good men, and, the paths of the righteous, that thou observe.

21 Ak dyngna khawksa thlangkhqi taw ve khawmdek awh khawsa thai kawm usaw, thlakleek khqi taw ce hyn awh ce khawsa poe kawm uh;

For, the upright, shall abide on the earth, —and, the men of integrity, shall remain therein;

22 Cehlai ak halang ak thlangkhqi taw khawmdek awhkawng qeeng sakna awm kawm saw amak thymna khaw ak sakhqi ce qeengsak na awm kaw.

But, the lawless, out of the earth, shall be cut off, and, traitors, shall they tear away therefrom.
