1 Awih neem ing kawso qeem sak nawh, awih tlo ing kaw so sak hy.
A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.
2 Thlakcyi am lai ing cyihnaak awitak cawn sak nawh, thlakqaw am kha ing qawnaak dang sak hy.
The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.
3 Boepa mik taw hyn boeih awh awm nawh, theem leek ingkaw theem che toek poepa hy.
In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.
4 Thlang ak qoei sak lai taw hqingnaak thingna awm nawh, thailatnaak ing ak bee lai taw kawlung patang sak hy.
A healed tongue [is] a tree of life, And perverseness in it — a breach in the spirit.
5 Thlakqaw ingtaw a pa ak toelnaak husit nawh, cehlai toelnaak ak haanaak taw ngaihtaak ing khawksaa thlang ni.
A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.
6 Thlakdyng imawh khawh khawzah awm nawh, thlakche khawboe phu taw kawpoek kyinaak ni.
[In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked — trouble.
7 Thlakcyi a huui ing siimnaak pungtai sak nawh, thlakqaw kawlung ingtaw cemyih am sai hy.
The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right.
8 Thlakche a hyih phum taw Khawsa ham tuih kawina awm nawh; thlakleek a hlacamnaak taw Khawsa ham kawzeelnaak ni.
The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.
9 Thlakchekhqi lam taw Khawsa ham tuih kawina awm nawh, dyngnaak lamawh ak cetkhqi cetaw lungna khqi hy.
An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.
10 Lamawh amak cetkhqi taw ak tlo soeih toelnaak ing qeeh nawh; toelthamnaak ak sawhnaak thlang taw thi kaw.
Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.
11 Ceikhui ingkaw Abaddon ce Khawsa ing a huh pheng awhtaw thlang kawlung taw ikawmyih na nu ang dang hly pheng? (Sheol h7585)
Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men. (Sheol h7585)
12 Thlang ak thekha naak ing toelnaak am lungna nawh, thlakcyi venna awm am cet ti kaw.
A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.
13 Kawlung awmhlynaak ing mikhai hlampan sak nawh, kawlung tlohnaak ing myihla kawseet sak hy.
A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.
14 Khawkpoek thainaak kawlung ak ta ing cyinaak sui nawh, thlakqaw am kha ingtaw qawnaak doengawh awm hy.
The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.
15 Kyinaak ak sawng ham khawnghii boeih ve se boeih nawh, kawlung ak nawmkhqi ham taw zeelnaak poei ing bee poepa hy.
All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet.
16 Patang doena theem khawzah taak ang lakawh Khawsa kqihnaak ing theem a khoeh taak ve leek bet hy.
Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.
17 Sawhnaak kawlung ing vaitaw ak tha him nawh buh vel anglakawh lungnak a awmnaak awh an hah ing buh vel haih leek bet hy.
Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.
18 Thlang am thin ak see ing hqehnaak coeng sak nawh, yhnaak ak ta thlang ingtaw kawso qeem sak hy.
A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 Thlang thakdam a lamawh hling bee nawh, thlakmeet a lam taw kau nawh dyng hy.
The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.
20 Capak cyi ing pa ak kaw zeel sak nawh, thlakqaw ingtaw a nu thee na hy.
A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.
21 Cyihnaak amak ta khqi ham taw qawnaak ve a mi awmhlynaak na awm nawh, khawksiim thlang ingtaw a lam dyng sak hy.
Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going.
22 Awi doet qu kaana bi sai ing am phu mah nawh, cehlai awi doet qunaak a kuum awh bibi coeng hy.
Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.
23 Amah a tym canawh awi doet hlatnaak ak thyym zaak taw ym ham kawi soeih hy.
Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season — how good!
24 Thlakcyi ham hqingnaak lam taw a baang benna kawng nawh, kham lam Ceikhui lamawh ama ceh naak ham. (Sheol h7585)
A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath. (Sheol h7585)
25 Bawipa ing thlak oekqu a im ce khaai khoep kawm saw, nuhai a im khoeng taw cak sak kaw.
The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.
26 Kawpoek amak leek taw Khawsa am tyih kawina awm nawh, kawpoek ak ciimkhqi kawpoek cetaw ym pekkhqi hy.
An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness.
27 Thlak kamvaa ing a imkhui patang pe hy, cehlai ang hyp kutdo ak sawhnaak thlang taw hqing kaw.
A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.
28 Thlakdyng kawlung ing awi khin ngai hy, cehlai thlakche ingtaw awihche hlah sawqhat hy.
The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.
29 Khawsa ing thlakche khqi ce lak hla khqi nawh thlakdyng khqi a cykcahnaak taw zaak pekkhqi hy.
Far [is] Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.
30 Mikhai hlampannaak ingawh kawlung awmhly sak nawh, awithangleek ing quhqawng cang sak hy.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.
31 Hqingnaak pek toelthamnaak ak haanaak taw thlakcyikhqi a imkhui cakawna awm kaw.
An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.
32 Toelthamnaak amak haanaak taw ang myihla ak thekhanaak ni, zyihtoelnaak ak haanaak ingtaw zaaksimnaak hu kaw.
Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.
33 Khawsa kqihchahnaak taw cyihnaak ak cawngpyikungna awm nawh; dungvoengnaak taw kyihcahna awmnaak hly ni.
The fear of Jehovah [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honour [is] humility!
