< Luke 18 >

1 Kawboet kaana cykcah poepa aham awm hy tice ami simnaak aham Jesu ing a hubatkhqi venawh nyhtahnaak awi pynoet kqawn peek khqi hy.
And he was speaking a parable unto them, as to its being needful for them always to pray, and not be faint-hearted;
2 A mingmih a venawh: “Khaw pynoet awh Khawsa awm amak kqih, thlanghqing awm kawna amak ngai awidengkung thlang pynoet ce awm hy.
saying—A certain judge, there was in a certain city, —having, for God, no reverence, and, for man, no respect.
3 Ce a khawk khuiawh nuhai pynoet awm nawh, cawhkaw awidengkung a venawh, ‘Ka qaal ingkaw kai anglakawhkaw awi ve am dyng na kqawn law lah,’ tinawh cet poepa nawh qeennaak thoeh hy.
And, a widow, there was, in that city; and she kept coming unto him, saying—Vindicate me from mine adversary!
4 Iqyt num taw am ngai am loek na hy. Cehlai a hu na taw poek quhy, ‘Khawsa awm ap kqih nyng saw thlanghqing awm kawna am ngai pai hlai nyng,
And he was unwilling for a time; but, after these things, he said within himself—Although, neither God, I reverence, nor man, I respect,
5 vawhkaw nuhai ing ni ngeu ni lawn khing kaw ve, awihdyng kqawn pe hlah mai vang nyng, cawh ni am law qoe voel kawmsaw a mani ngeu ama ni lawn hly hy,’ tihy” tinak khqi hy.
Yet, if only because this widow annoyeth me, I will vindicate her, —lest, persistently coming, she wholly wear me out.
6 Cekcoengawh Bawipa ing, “Amak thym awidengkung ak awi ve ngai lah uh.
And the Lord said—Hear ye what, the unrighteous judge saith; —
7 A venawh khawmthan khawdai ko ang kqang doena ak cykcah, amah ing ak tyh thlangkhqi aham Khawsa ing am dyng na awi am deng kawm nu? A mingmih ce awm hly taak dym nawh nu?
And shall, God, in any wise not execute the vindication of his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, although he beareth long with regard to them?
8 Ka nik kqawn peek khqi, anih ing awi ang tawnna deng kaw. Cehlai thlanghqing Capa a law awh, khawmdek awh cangnaak ak hu hly hyn hy voei nu? tihy.
I tell you—He will execute their vindication, quickly! nevertheless, though, the Son of Man, do come, will he, after all, find the faith on the earth?
9 Amah am dyngnaak ypna nawh thlang ak husitkhqi venawh, vawhkaw nyhtahnaak awi ve kqawn pehy:
And he spake, even unto certain who were confident in themselves that they were righteous, and were despising the rest, this parable: —
10 Thlang pakkhih taw cykcah aham bawkim na cet hy nih. Pynoet taw Farasi thlang na awm nawh pynoet taw mangmu ak cawikung na awm hy.
Two men, went up into the temple to pray, one, a Pharisee, and, the other, a tax-collector.
11 Farasi thlang taw dyi nawh vemyihna cykcah hy: “Khawsa, kai taw quk-aikhqi, thawlhnaak ak saikhqi, samphaihkhqi ingkaw vawhkaw mangmu ak cawikung amyihna awm am ka awm a dawngawh, na venawh zeel nyng.
The Pharisee, taking his stand, these things unto himself was praying: O God! I thank thee, that I am not like the rest of men, —extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or, even as this tax-collector;
12 Khaw khqih nyn khuiawh buh hih voei ka zeih coengawh ka huh boeih ak khuiawh pahqa pynoet ak thym cana pe nyng,’ tihy.
I fast twice in the week, I give a tenth of whatsoever things I gain!
13 Cehlai mangmu ak cawikung taw ak hla na dyi hoer nawh, khan benna awm am mang hqa hy, ak kqang pung nawh, ‘Bawipa, kai thlakthawlh ve nim qeen lah,’ tinawh cykcah hy.
But, the tax-collector, afar off, standing, —would not so much as lift up, his eyes, unto heaven, but kept smiting his own breast saying—O God! be propitiated unto me, the sinner!
14 Ka nik kqawn peek khqi, cawhkaw thlang ing Khawsa haiawh dyngnaak ce hu nawh im na voei hy. U awm amah ingkaw amah ak zoeksang qu taw ak kaina nung tla kaw, cehlai ak kaina ak awm ing ce zoeksangnaak hu kaw,” tinak khqi hy.
I tell you—This one went down justified, unto his house, rather than that one; because, every one who exalteth himself, shall be abased, but, he that abaseth himself, shall be exalted?
15 Thlangkhqi ing naasenkhqi ce Jesu ing a bi aham a venawh law pyi uhy. A hubatkhqi ing ami huh awh, thlangkhqi ce zyi uhy.
And they were bringing unto him, even the babes, that he might touch, them; but the disciples, seeing it, began to rebuke them.
16 Cehlai Jesu ing naasenkhqi ce a venna ak khy coengawh, “Naasenkhqi, ka venna law sak uh, koeh hqek u, kawtih Khawsa qam taw vemyih ak thlangkhqi ham ni.
But, Jesus, called them near, saying—Suffer, the children, to be coming unto me, and do not hinder them; for, of such, is the kingdom of God.
17 Awitak ka nik kqawn peek khqi, u ingawm Khawsa qam ce naasen amyihna amak do taw ak khuiawh am kun thai kaw,’ tinak khqi hy.
Verily I say unto you—Whosoever shall not welcome the kingdom of God, as a child, in nowise shall enter thereinto.
18 Ukkung thlang pynoet ing, “Cawngpuikung leek, kumqui hqingnaak ka pangnaak thai aham ikaw ka sai hly.” tina hy. (aiōnios g166)
And a certain, ruler, questioned him, saying—Good Teacher! by doing what, shall I inherit life age-abiding? (aiōnios g166)
19 Jesu ing, “Ikawtih leek hy nani tinaak? Khawsa doeng am taw u awm am leek hy.
But Jesus said to him—Why, callest thou me, good? None, is good, save one—God.
20 Awipeekkhqi sim tiksaw kaw: ‘Koeh samphaih, thlang koeh him, koeh qu, amak thym dyihthing na koeh dyi, na nu ingkaw na pa zoeksang lah,’ a tice ti,” tina hy.
The commandments, thou knowest: —Do not commit adultery, Do not commit murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, —Honour thy father and mother,
21 Anih ing, “Vemihkhqi boeih ve ka naasen awhkawng ni ka sai hawh,” tina hy.
And, he, said—All these things, have I kept from my youth.
22 Ce ak awi ce Jesu ing ang zaak awh, a venawh, “Pynoet voet hun hyk ti. Na taakkhqi boeih ce zawi nawhtaw hahqahkhqi venawh pe, cawhtaw khawk khan awh them ta kawp ti. Cekcoengawh ka hu awh bat law,” tina hy.
And Jesus, hearing, said unto him—Yet one thing, unto thee, is lacking: Whatsoever thou hast, sell, and distribute unto the destitute, —and thou shalt have treasure in [the] heavens; and come! be following me.
23 Ce ak awi ce ang zaak awh, anih ce boei thlang na a awm dawng awh, ak kaw a boe na se hy.
But, he, hearing these things, became, encompassed with grief; for he was rich exceedingly.
24 Jesu ing anih ce toek nawh, “Boei thlangkhqi ing Khawsa qam khuiawh a kunnaak aham ikawmyih aih na a kyinaak ve!
And Jesus, beholding him, said—With what difficulty, shall, they who have money, enter, into the kingdom of God.
25 Boei thlang ing Khawsa qam khuiawh a kunnaak anglakawhtaw kalauk ing kqym ak khuiawh a kun mantaw zoei bet kaw,” tinak khqi hy.
For it is, easier, for a camel, to enter, through the eye of a needle, than for, a rich man, to enter, into the kingdom of God.
26 Ce ak awi ak zakhqi ing, “U ing nu thawngnaak a huh hly lawk hy voei?” ti uhy.
And they who heard said—Who, then, can be saved?
27 Jesu ing, “Thlanghqing aham amak coeng thai ce Khawsa ham taw coeng thai hy,” tinak khqi hy.
And, he, said—The things impossible with men, are, possible with God.
28 Piter ing a venawh, “Kaimih ingtaw ik-oeihkhqi boeih cehta unyng saw na hu awh bat unyng ve!” tina hy.
And Peter said—Lo! we, have left our own possessions, and followed thee!
29 Jesu ing a mingmih na ce, “Awitaak ka nik kqawn peek khqi, u ingawm Khawsa qam dawngawh a im aw, a zu aw, a koeinaa aw, a cakhqi aw ama cehtaak awhtaw
And, he, said unto them—Verily, I say unto you—No one, is there, who hath left—house, or wife, or brethren, or parents, or children, —for the sake of the kingdom of God;
30 Ve a khuk qoe awh khawzah na a hlawng coengawh, ak law hly kawi a khuk awhkaw kumqui hqingnaak awm hlawng bai kaw,” tinak khqi hy. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
who shall in anywise not receive manifold in this season, and, in the age that is coming, life age-abiding. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 Jesu ing a hubat Thlanghqa hlaihih ce ak chang na cehpyi nawh, “Tawngha khqi ing, Thlanghqing Capa akawng ami na qeekhqi boeih ce a soepnaak aham, ningnih ve Jerusalem na ni cet kawm uh.
And, taking aside the twelve, he said unto them—Lo! we are going up unto Jerusalem, and all the things will be finished, which have been written through means of the prophets, respecting the Son of Man;
32 Anih ce Gentelkhqi kut awh pe kawm uh. Raih na kawm uh, the a kha na kawm uh, sawh a phih kawm uh, vyk kawm usaw him kawm uh.
For he will be delivered up unto the nations, and be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon, —
33 Cehlai am thum nyn awh tho tlaih kaw,” tinak khqi hy.
and, having scourged him, they will slay him, and, on the third day, will, he, arise.
34 Vawhkaw awi ak kqawnkhqi ve a hubatkhqi ing pynoet ca awm am zasim uhy. Ak kqawn ngaihnaak ce a thuh hyn dawngawh, ikawk awi aw ak kqawn hy voei, ti awm am sim uhy.
And, they, not one of these things, understood, and this saying was hidden from them, and the could not comprehend the things spoken.
35 Jeriko khaw ce Jesu ing a pha tawm awh, mikhyp thlang pynoet taw lam a keng awh ngawi nawh kut dun hy.
And it came to pass, as he was drawing near unto Jericho, a certain blind man, was sitting beside the road, begging.
36 Thlangkhqi a ceh tyn awi ce ang zaak awh, thlangkhqi ce doet hy.
And. hearkening unto a multitude moving along, he enquired, what this, might be.
37 Thlangkhqi ing, Nazareth khaw awhkaw Jesu law hy, tina hy.
And they told him—Jesus of Nazareth, is passing by!
38 Cawh anih ing, “David Capa, Jesu, kai ve nim qeen lah,” tinawh khy hy.
And he cried aloud, saying—Jesus, son of David! have mercy upon me!
39 Lam ak khul kungkhqi ing awm dym aham kaa na uhy, cehlai, David Capa, kai ve nim qeen lah, tinawh khy khqoet hy.
And, they that were going before, began to rebuke him, that he might hold his peace. But, he, by so much the more, was crying out—O Son of David! have mercy upon me!
40 Cawh Jesu ing dyi cat nawh, cawhkaw thlang ce a venna sawi aham kqawn pehy. Jesu a ven a pha awh,
And, standing still, Jesus commanded him to be led unto him; and, when he had drawn near, he questioned him—
41 “Kaw sai sak aham nu na ni ngaih? tina hy. Anih ing, “Bawipa, ka mik a dai aham ngaih nyng,” tina hy.
What desirest thou, I should do unto thee? And, he, said—Lord! …that I may recover sight!
42 Jesu ing a venawh, “Na mik dang hlah seh, nak cangnaak ing ni qoei sak hawh hy,” tina hy.
And, Jesus, said unto him—Recover sight! Thy faith, hath saved thee.
43 Cawh a mik ce dai pe pahoei hy, Jesu a hu awh bat nawh Khawsa ce kyihcah hy. Thlangkhqi ing ami huh awh, Khawsa ce kyihcah uhy.
And, instantly, he recovered sight, and began to follow him, glorifying God. And, all the people, beholding, gave praise unto God.
