< Luke 15 >
1 Mangmu ak cawikungkhqi ingkaw thlakthawlhkhqi ing ak awi ak ngaina a venawh law uhy.
Then drew near to him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
2 Cehlai Farasikhqi ingkaw anaa awi cawngpyikungkhqi taw sai bi uhy, Ve ak thlang ing thlak thawlhkhqi ym nawh buh ai pyi khqi haih hy, ti uhy.
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners, and eats with them.
3 Cawh Jesu ing vawhkaw nyhtahnaak awi ve kqawn pek khqi hy:
And he spoke this parable to them, saying,
4 nangmih ak khuiawh thlang pynoet ing tuu zakhat a taak ak khuiawh pynoet ce qeng lah seh, sawmkow pakow ce a cehtaak coengawh ak qeng pynoet ce a huh hlan dy taw am sui kawm nu?
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 A huh tlaih awhtaw, ak phleng awh kawt nawh,
And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 im na ceh pyi hy. A imcengkhqi ingkaw a pyikhqi ce ak khy coengawh, Ni zeel pyi lawt lah uh; tuu ak qeng ce hu tlaih hawh nyng,’ tinak khqi hy.
And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 Ka nik kqawn peek khqi, cemyih lawtna zut aham amak ngoe thlakdyng sawmkow pakow anglakawh thlakthawlh pynoet ang zutnaak awh ce khawk khan awh zeelnaak doem khqoet kaw.
I say to you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
9 A huh tlaih awhtaw, a pyikhqi ingkaw a imceng locengkhqi ce khy nawh, Ni zeel pyi khqi hy.
And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbors together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
10 Cemyih lawtna, ka nik kqawn peek khqi, thlakthawlh pynoet ang zutnaak awh Khawsa ak khan ceityihkhqi haiawh zeelnaak ce awm kaw,” tinak khqi hy.
Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.
11 Jesu ing nyhtahnaak awi kqawn pe tlaih bai hy: Thlang pynoet ing cakpa pakkhih tahy.
And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 A capa ang no ing a pa venawh, ka pa ka huh hly kawi qo ce ni pe hlah,’ tina hy. Cedawngawh a pa ing qo ce bo pehy.
And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. And he divided to them his living.
13 Cekcoengawh taw, a capa ang no ing amah a ik-oeihkhqi boeih ce lo nawh khawk hla soeih na cet hy, ce a qam awh a khawhthemkhqi ce plak boeh boeh hy.
And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 A khawhthemkhqi ce ak plak boeih coengawh, cawhkaw a awmnaak qam awh ce khawseet khawkhanaak pha law hy, cawh anih ce voet a hlauh law hy.
And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 Cedawngawh ce a qam awhkaw thlang pynoet a bi ce bi pehy, cawhkaw thlang ing anih ce lo awh vawk ak cah aham na tyi hy.
And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 Ak phoen cawi aih nawh vawk ing a ai lyian kawikhqi ce ai aham nai hy, cehlai u ingawm ai aham ikaw awm am pehy.
And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave to him.
17 Cawh poek qu nawh, ‘Ka pa ak thlangvatkhqi ing zani awk lek ai naa na awk ai ta hlai uhy, kai taw vawh lum tawm hawh nyng!
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 Tho nawh ka pa venna hlat tlaih mai vang nyng, a venawh: Ka pa, khan ingkaw nang a haiawh thawlh hawh nyng.
I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you,
19 Na ca na awm khy aham am kawih voel nyng; nak thlangvat pynoet na awm ni ta lawt mai, tina vang nyng,’ tihy.
And am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired servants.
20 Cedawngawh tho nawh a pa venna cet hy. Ak hla na a law awh, a pa ing hu hqoet nawh qeen hy; a capa venna dawng nawh kawp hqoet nawh mawk hy.
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 A capa ing a pa venawh, ‘Ka pa, khan ingkaw nang a haiawh thawlh hawh nyng. Na ca na khy aham am kawih voel nyng,’ tina hy.
And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son.
22 Cehlai a pa ing a tyihzawihkhqi venawh, ‘Ang tawnna! Angki ak leek soeih ce haw law unawh taw bai sak uh. A kut awh kutcabyn byn sak unawh, a khaw awh khawmyk myk law sak uh.
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 Vaitaw ak tha soeih ce haw law unawh taw him uh. Awmhly zeelnaak ing buh veelnaak sai lah u sih.
And bring here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 Vawhkaw ka capa ve thi hawh hlai hy hqing tlaih hawh hy, qeng hawh hlai hy hu tlaih hawh nyng,’ tinak khqi hy. Cedawngawh buh veelnaak ce sai uhy.
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
25 Cedawngawh a capa a hqam taw lo na awm hy. Im a pha law tawm awh ce, laa sak awi ingkaw lamnaak awi ce zahy.
Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 Cedawngawh tyihzawih pynoet ce khy nawh doet hy.
And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27 Anih ing, ‘Na naa ce hlat law tlaih nawh, sadip cana im a pha law tlaih dawngawh, na pa ing vaitaw ak tha soeih ce him pehy,’ tina hy.
And he said to him, Your brother is come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.
28 Cedawngawh a hqamca ce ak kaw so nawh ipkhui na a kun ham awm am ngaih voel hy. Cedawngawh a pa ce cet nawh a capa a hqam ce hloep hy.
And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him.
29 Cehlai anih ing a pa venawh, ‘Toek lah! Kum veqyt nang a tamnaa na awm nyng saw nak awi awm am eek khawi nyng. Cehlai ka pyikhqi mi zeelnaak aham me ca pynoet kangna awm am ni pe hyk ti.
And he answering said to his father, See, these many years do I serve you, neither transgressed I at any time your commandment: and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 Vawhkaw na capa, a pum ak zawikhqi mi ik-oeih ak poeih ak lak thlang ce a law awh, vaitaw ak tha soeih him pe hyk ti!’ tina hy.
But as soon as this your son was come, which has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fatted calf.
31 A pa ing a venawh, ‘Ka capa, nang taw ka venawh awm poepa hyk ti, kai ing ka taak boeih boeih ve nang a koe nani a awm hy.
And he said to him, Son, you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours.
32 Buh veelnaak ni sai nawh ni zeel aham awm hy, vawhkaw na naa ve thi hawh hlai hy, hqing law tlaih hawh hy; anih taw qeng hawh hlai hy ni hu tlaih hawh hy,’ tina hy,” tinak khqi hy.
It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
