1 Cawh Pilat ing Jesu ce khyn nawh vyk hy.
Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 Qalkapkhqi ing hling ce lumyk na sai unawh a lu awh myk sak unawh hik thim ce bai sak uhy;
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 cekcoengawh, a venna pan unawh, “Juda sangpahrang na zoseen seh!” tina uhy. A haiawh beei uhy.
And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 Pilat ing Judakhqi venna cet nawh, “Toek lah uh, a thawlhnaak am hu nyng, tice nami simnaak aham nangmih a venawh law pyi tlaih nyng,” tinak khqi hy.
Pilate therefore went forth again, and says to them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that you may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Jesu taw hling lumyk myk nawh hik thim a bai doena cawn law hy. Pilat ing, “Anih ve toek lah uh,” tinak khqi hy.
Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate says to them, Behold the man!
6 Khawsoih boeikhqi ingkaw ukkungkhqi ing ami huh awh, “Thinglam awh tai! Thinglam awh tai!” tinawh khy uhy. Cehlai Pilat ing, “Khyn unawh, tai uh. Kai ingtaw a thawlhnaak am hu nyng,” tinak khqi hy.
When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate says to them, Take you him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
7 Cawh Judakhqi ing, “Ka mimah a cawngpyinaak awipeek pynoet awm hy. Cek awipeek amyihna Khawsa Capa na ak kqawn qu ak cawmawh a thih aham awm hy,” ti uhy.
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
8 Ce ak awi ce Pilat ing ang zaak awh kqih khqoet nawh,
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
9 ipkhui na cet tlaih hy. “Hana kawng na law?” tinawh Jesu ce doet hy, cehlai Jesu ing awi khangoet awm am hlat pehy.
And went again into the judgment hall, and says to Jesus, From where are you? But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Pilat ing, “Kai a venawh awikqawn aham amna ngaih nawh nu? Nang loet sak thainaak ingkaw thinglam awh tai thainaak ta nyng ti amna sim nawh nu?” tina hy.
Then says Pilate to him, Speak you not to me? know you not that I have power to crucify you, and have power to release you?
11 Jesu ing, “Khan benna kawng ama ni peek awhtaw kak khanawh saithainaak am ta kawp ti. Cedawngawh nangmih a venna kai anik peekung a thawlhnaak ve bau khqoet hy,” tina hy.
Jesus answered, You could have no power at all against me, except it were given you from above: therefore he that delivered me to you has the greater sin.
12 Cawh Pilat ing Jesu ce hlah aham ngaih hy, cehlai Judakhqi ing, “Ve ak thlang ve na loet sak awhtaw, nang taw Kaisarar a pyi am voel hawh ni. U awm amah ing sangpahrang na ak sai qu taw Kaisarar ak oelh ak thlang ni,” tina uhy.
And from thereafter Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar’s friend: whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.
13 Ce ak awi ce Pilat ing ang zaak awh, Jesu ce law pyi nawh awidengnaak Lung Ngawihdoelh (Aqamaic awi na Gabbatha) awh ngawi sak hy.
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 Cenyn taw loentaak khawnghi coekqoek nyn na awm hy, khawnoek kquk tluk pha hawh hy. Pilat ing Judakhqi venawh, “Nami sangpahrang ve toek lah uh!” tinak khqi hy.
And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he says to the Jews, Behold your King!
15 Cehlai cekkhqi ing, “Anih ce him! Anih ce him! Thinglam awh tai” tinawh khy uhy. Pilat ing, “Nangmih a sangpahrang ve thinglam awh kak tai hly nu?” tinak khqi hy. Cawh khawsoeih boeikhqi ing, “Kaisarar am awhtaw sangpahrang am ta unyng,” tina uhy.
But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate says to them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

Then delivered he him therefore to them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18 Ce hun awh anih ce thlang pakkhih mi thinglam awh tai haih uhy – tang ben cawng benawh cekqawi ce tai unawh cekqawi anglak lung awh Jesu ce tai uhy.
Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.
19 Pilat ing, ‘Nazareth Jesu Judahkhqi sangpahrang,’ tinawh ami qee coengawh thinglam awh taih pe uhy.
And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 Thinglam awh Jesu ami tainaak hun ce khawk bau awhkawng zoe hy, cawhkaw caa ce Aqamaic, Latin ingkaw Greek awina a qee a dawngawh, Juda thlang khawzah ing qeel uhy.
This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was near to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
21 Juda khawsoeih boeikhqi ing Pilat a venawh, ‘Juda sangpahrang’ tinawh koeh qee, ve ak thlang ing Juda sangpahrang na awm nyng, ti hy, tinawh qee,” tina uhy.
Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilat ing, ka qee cetaw, ka qee nani a awm hawh,” tina hy.
Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
23 Qalkapkhqi ing Jesu ce thinglam awh ami tai coengawh, a hi ce lawh pe unawh, thlang pynoet qip aham, pupthli na paa qu uhy. A angki awm lo uhy. Ce angki taw ak khqui kaana awm nawh, a haawng awhkawng a pum dy ang tah qu ni.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 Ceamyihna awm saw amingmih ing, “Vawhkaw hi vetaw koeh teek u sih. U ing nu a huh kaw, taicung na zyk u sih,” ti uhy. “Ka hi ve teei unawh ka angki ce taicung zyk sih kawm uh,” tinawh qee hyt na ak awm ce a soepnaak aham vemyihkhqi ve ak awm ni. Ceamyihna qalkapkhqi ing sai uhy.
They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They parted my raiment among them, and for my clothing they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
25 Jesu a thinglam a kingawh a nu, a nu a naa, Klopa a zu Meri ingkaw Meri Magdalene mi ce awm uhy.
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 Jesu ing cawh ak awm a nu ingkaw, amah ing a lungnaak hubat thlang pynoet cawh ak dyi ce a huh awh, a nu a venawh, “Nu, na capa ve toek lah,” tina hy.
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he says to his mother, Woman, behold your son!

Then says he to the disciple, Behold your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.
28 Cak Ciim awi a soepnaak aham ik-oeih boeih coeng hawh hy tice a sim awh, Jesu ing, “Tui ngaih nyng,” tihy.
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, says, I thirst.
29 Cawh misur tui ak thui ce am awh hawih uhy, cawhkaw misur tui ak thui ce hlapawt ing hluk unawh, cawhkaw hlapawt ce hyssop thing awh ami tlet coengawh Jesu a hui awh tuh uhy.
Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it on hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 Misur tui ak thui ce ami hluk coengawh, Jesu ing, “Coeng Hawh hy,” tihy. Cekcoengawh a hawng tlep nawh a mal pat pahoei hy.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
31 Ce nyn taw coekqoek nyn na awm nawh, a khawngawi taw Sabbath nyn na awm hy. Sabbath nyn awh thinglam awh thlang a qawk a bat ce Judakhqi ing a mami ngaih a dawngawh, Pilat a venna cet unawh thinglam awhkaw ami tai thlangkhqi khaw ce hqem pe nawh thinglam awhkawng qawk ce lawh aham thoeh uhy.
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day, ) sought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Cedawngawh qalkapkhqi ce law unawh Jesu ingqawi thinglam awh ami tai haih thlang pynoet a khaw ce hqem pe uhy, cekcoengawh ak chang pynoet a khaw ce awm hqem pe bai uhy.
Then came the soldiers, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
33 Cehlai Jesu a ven a mi pha awh anih cetaw a qaawk na hu uhy, cedawngawh a khaw ce am hqem pe voel uhy.
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they broke not his legs:
34 Qalkap pynoet ing Jesu ce cai ing a vei awh sun hy, cawh thi ingkaw tui ce lawng law pahoei hy.
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately came there out blood and water.
35 Ak hukung ing ni sim sak hawh hy, (a ni sim sak awi ce thym hy; ak kqawn thym hy ti sim qu hy, ) nangmih ingawm namik cangnaak lawt hamna.
And he that saw it bore record, and his record is true: and he knows that he says true, that you might believe.
36 Cakciim awiawh ak awm, “A quh pynoet awm am ek tikaw,” ti ce a soepnaak ahamna vekkhqi ve ak awm law ni.
For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 Cawh Cakciim ak chang bai awhawm, “A mingmih ing cai ing ami sun ce toek kawm uh,” tinawh awm bai hy.
And again another scripture says, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38 A hu na, Arimathea khaw awhkaw Joseph ing Pilat a venawh Jesu a qawk ce thoeh hy. Joseph taw Jesu a hubat pynoet na awm lawt hy. Judakhqi ak kqih a dawngawh ang hyp na awm hy. Pilat ak caming, cet nawh Jesu a qawk ce lo hy.
And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, sought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
39 Khawmthan awh Jesu a venna ak cet Nekodemu ing anih ce pyi hy. Nikodemu ing myrrh ing ak kqit bawktui, khqihkip pawngnga tluk ce haw law hy.
And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
40 Jesu a pum lo nih nawh bawktui ing ani hluk coengawh hi ing zawl hy nih. Judakhqi a singyoe amyihna cemyihna sai hy nih.
Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
41 Jesu thinglam ami tainaak awh dum pynoet awm hy, ce a dum khuiawh phyi ak thai pynoet awm hy, ce a phyi khuiawh a u awm vui hlan uhy.
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulcher, wherein was never man yet laid.
42 Ce nyn ce Judakhqi coekqoek nyn na awm nawh phyi a zoe a dawngawh Jesu ce pup hy nih.
There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulcher was near at hand.
