< 1 Timote 5 >

1 Kum ak hqamkhqi bet ak thlang ce ak tlo na koeh zyi, na pamyihna thapeeknaak awi kqawn pe. Kum ak no bet thlangkhqi ce na naakhqi amyihna poek law nawh,
Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;
2 kum ak hqam bet nukhqi ce nam cawtnu amyihna, kawlung ciimnaak ing poek law lah.
the older women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.
3 Nuhai ak voet ak hlauhkhqi ce ak leekna kqihchah khqi lah.
Honor widows who are widows indeed.
4 Cehlai nuhai ing a cakhqi aw a ca a cakhqi aw a taak awhtaw, cekkhqi ing a mimah a ipkhui kaw ce ak leekna khut a hlepnaak ing a mimah a bawknaak ce lamma na ami sai aham awm hy, cemyihna nu ingkaw pa ingkaw nukdam pakdamkhqi a cawmcahnaak ce thung thai kawm uh, ve ve Khawsa ak kaw zeelnaak na awm hy.
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
5 Amah doeng ak awm ak voet ak hlauh nuhai ingtaw Khawsa venawh ngaih-unaak ta nawh than ingkaw dai cykcah doena Khawsa venawh qeennaak thoeh hy.
Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
6 Cehlai mah doeng awmhlynaak doeng ak sui nuhai taw a hqing hui awhawm ak thi ni.
But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.
7 U ak khanawh awm coet kawi ama awmnaak aham, thlangkhqi venawh awm vawhkaw cawngpyinaak ve kqawn pe.
Also command these things, so that they will be without fault.
8 U awm amah a cakaw amak toek teng, a ipkhui awmpyi cakaw nawn awm amak toek teng ingtaw cangnaak ak oelh ak thlangna awm nawh amak cangnaak thlang anglakawh thawlh khqoet hy.
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
9 Nuhai taw kum kqukip ak kai am nawh, thlang pynoet doeng ak vaa naak,
Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
10 cakhqi khuut nawh, khin ak khai khuut nawh, thlakciimkhqi khaw sil khawi nawh, ak patangkhqi toek kawi nawh them leek a hoei thahlynaak ing bi kawi nawh them leek sainaak awh thlang am kyihcah kawina ak awm taw nuhaina taak thai ni.
being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
11 Nuhai kum ak no betkhqi taw cemyih nuhaikhqi ak khuiawh paa sak aham am awm hy. Khrih a venawh ang peek qunaak ce pumsa ngaihnaak ing a noeng awhtaw vaa taak tlaih aham ngaih uhy.
But refuse younger widows, for whenever their passions lead them away from Christ, they desire to marry;
12 Ceamyihna, lamma awhkaw awitaaknaak ce a hqe hawh a dawngawh amah ingkaw amah ak khanawh awidengnaak ce pha sak hy.
having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.
13 Cekcoeng baiawh, amik tha dam sak unawh im im awh van uhy. Amik thakdam doeng am khoek nawh, thlang theetnaak kawsonaak ing a mamik kqawn hly kawi ik-oeih ce kqawn uhy.
Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
14 Cedawngawh nuhai a kum ak nokhqi taw vaa ta tlaih seh, ca ta u seitaw, ami ipkhui ce ak leekna khoem u seh, cemyihna sainaak ing thlang kqawn seetnaak qaal ce a tym leek koeh pe seh.
I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for reviling.
15 Tuhawm thlangvang tloek ingtaw setan lam pan ing khaw kan hawh uhy.
For already some have turned aside after Satan.
16 Ak cangnaak nu ing a cakaw ak khuiawh nuhai a taak awhtaw, ak leek na khut a hlep seh, thlangboel phyihqih a peek aham am awm hy, cawh ni thlangboel ing ak voet ak hlauh tang tang nuhaikhqi ce ami toek hly thai.
If any believing woman has widows, she must assist them, and do not let the church be burdened; that it might help those widows who are truly in need.
17 A Thlangboel ce ak leek cana lam ak sawikung ing ak pyhna kqihcahna awm seitaw, awikqawn ingkaw cawngpyinaak awh tha ak yy ak thlangkhqi taw ce anglakawh ak pyh khqoetna kqihcahna awm seh.
Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
18 Ikawtih Cakciim ing, “Cang ak leh huili vaitaw a hui ce koeh pin pe, bi ak bi ingtaw a bibi phu ce huh aham tyng hy,” tinawh kqawn hy.
For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages."
19 A hqamca pynoet ce simpyikung pakkhih pakthum ama awm awhtaw thawlh koeh puk.
Do not receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses.
20 Thawlhnaak ak sai thlang ce ak dangna toel aham awm hy, cawh ni thlang ang ngaih a taak hly.
Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.
21 Vawhkaw awipeekkhqi ve phekbonaak a taak kaana hquut aham ingkaw u a haai awm a toek kaana ak thym bibi aham Khawsa, Jesu Khrih ingkaw ak tyh khan ceityihkhqi amik huh awh awi ni pe nyng.
I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
22 Thlang ak khanawh angtawnna na kut koeh tloeng nawh, thawlh sainaak ce koeh bawng law. Ak ciimcaih na awm law.
Do not ordain anyone hastily, nor participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
23 Tui doeng ce koeh aw voel, nak phoen tlawh ingkaw ak chang tlawhnaak na taak a dawngawh misur tui ce awk pe bet bet.
Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.
24 Thlangvang a thawlhnaak taw dang pahoei nawh, awidengnaak hun pahoei hy; thlangvang a thawlhnaak taw am dang pahoei hy.
The sins of some people are obvious, going before them to judgment, but those of others show up later.
25 Cemyih lawtna, them leek sai ak dang pahoei awm nawh, dang hlan seiawm thuh phah toeih thai kawi am awm hy.
In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.
