< 1 Korin 1 >

1 Khawsa a ngaihnaak amyihna Jesu Khrih a ceityih na ak awm Paul ingkaw ni koeinaa Sosthenas ing,
Paul, called to be an Apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God--and our brother Sosthenes:
2 Korin khaw awh ak awm Khawsa a thlangboel ingkaw, Jesu Khrih awh ciimcaih sak na awm nawh ak ciimcaih na awm aham ak khy thlangkhqi, hun hoei awh a mingmih ingkaw ningnih a Boei – ningnih a Bawipa Jesu Khrih ang ming ak khy thlangkhqi boeih a venawh:
To the Church of God in Corinth, men and women consecrated in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all in every place who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ-- their Lord as well as ours.
3 Pa Khawsa ingkaw Bawipa Jesu Khrih a ven awhkaw qeennaak ingkaw ngaihdingnaak awm seh.
May grace and peace be granted to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Jesu Khrih ak caming nangmih a venawh a ni peek khqi am qeennaak awh nangmih aham Khawsa venawh zeelnaak awi kqawn poepa nyng.
I thank my God continually on your behalf for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus--
5 Amah awh ce nangmih taw ik-oeih soepkep awh boei uhyk ti – awi kqawnnaak boeih ingkaw cyihnaak soepkep awh –
that you have been so richly blessed in Him, with readiness of speech and fulness of knowledge.
6 kaimih ing Khrih akawng ka mik kqawn law ce nangmih awh ce cak hawh hy.
Thus my testimony as to the Christ has been confirmed in your experience,
7 Cedawngawh nangmih ing ningnih a Bawipa Jesu Khrih ang dangnaak nyn ce naming lamtoen awh myihla zoepeek kutdo ik-oeih voet hlauhnaak qoe qoe am ta voel uhyk ti.
so that there is no gift of God in which you consciously come short while patiently waiting for the reappearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
8 Ningmih a Bawipa Jesu Khrih a kawnyn awh nangmih taw coet ak kap na am nami awmnaak aham, amah ing a dyt dyna thaawmnaak ni pek khqi bit kaw.
who will also keep you stedfast to the very End, so that you will be free from reproach on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Khawsa capa, ni Bawipa Jesu Khrih khawsaknaak haih a nik khy khqi taw ypawm hy.
God is ever true to His promises, and it was by Him that you were, one and all, called into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ, our Lord.
10 Koeinaakhqi, nangmih anglakawh phekbonaak ama awmnaak aham pynoet ingkaw pynoet kawpoek kutoet na ta unawh kawlung pynoet poeknaak pynoet ing nami cuui aham ni Bawipa Jesu Khrih ang ming ing qeennaak ni thoeh lawk khqi nyng.
Now I entreat you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to cultivate a spirit of harmony--all of you--and that there be no divisions among you, but rather a perfect union through your having one mind and one judgement.
11 Koeinaakhqi, nangmih anglakawh oelh qunaak awm hy, tinawh Khalo ipkhui khaw awhkaw thlangkhqi ing kqawn law uhy.
For I have been distinctly informed, my brethren, about you by Chloe's people, that there are dissensions among you.
12 Kak kqawn ngaihnaak taw veni: Nangmih anglakawh thlangvang ing, “Kai taw Paul a bawng ni,” ti uhyk ti, thlangvang bai ing, “Kai taw Apollo a bawng ni,” ti uhyk ti, ak chang khqi bai ing, “Kai taw Cepha a bawng ni,” ti uhyk ti, a chang bai ing, “Kai taw Khrih a bawng ni,” ti uhyk ti.
What I mean is that each of you is a partisan. One man says "I belong to Paul;" another "I belong to Apollos;" a third "I belong to Peter;" a fourth "I belong to Christ."
13 Khrih ve phek ang bo qunawh nu? Paul aw nangmih aham thinglam awh a mi tai? Paul ang ming awh aw baptisma nami huh?
Is the Christ in fragments? Is it Paul who was crucified on your behalf? Or were you baptized to be Paul's adherents?
14 Krispa ingkaw Gaia doeng am taw u awm baptisma am ka ni peek khqi a dawngawh zeel nyng.
I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius--
15 Cedawngawh kai ang ming awh baptisma ak hu u awm am awm hy.
for fear people should say that you were baptized to be my adherents.
16 (Oeih, Stefen ipkhui khaw ce baptisma pe bai nyng; cekcoengawh, thlak chang baptisma ka peek ak awm hy voei nu, am sim nyng.)
I did, however, baptize Stephanas' household also: but I do not think that I baptized any one else.
17 Ikawtih Khrih ing baptisma peek aham amni tyi hy, awithang leek ak khypyi aham ni a ni tyih – thlanghqing a cyihnaak awi ing amni, cawh mantaw Khrih thinglam sai thainaak ce a hqawng na awm hawh kaw.
Christ did not send me to baptize, but to proclaim the Good News; and not in merely wise words--lest the Cross of Christ should be deprived of its power.
18 Thinglam awithang taw ak qeeng huikhqi aham qawnaak na awm nawh, hulna ak awm hui ningnihkhqi aham taw Khawsa thaawmnaak na awm hy.
For the Message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are on the way to perdition, but it is the power of God to those whom He is saving.
19 “Thlakcyikhqi a cyihnaak ce hqe kawng nyng saw; kawpoek ak cyikhqi ak poeknaak ce hoet kawng nyng,” tinawh qee hyt awm hawh hy.
For so it stands written, "I will exhibit the nothingness of the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will bring to nought."
20 Thlakcyi hana nu? Cak qeekung hana nu? Ve khawmdek awh ak oelhkung ce hana nu? Khawsa ing khawmdek cyihnaak ce qawnaak tinawh am dang sak nawh nu? (aiōn g165)
Where is your wise man? Where your expounder of the Law? Where your investigator of the questions of this present age? Has not God shown the world's wisdom to be utter foolishness? (aiōn g165)
21 Khawsa a cyihnaak ve khawmdek cyihnaak ing ama pha dawngawh amah ce am sim thai hy, qawnaak awi khypyinaak ak caming ak cangnaak thlangkhqi hul na a awmnaak awh Khawsa taw ak kaw zeel hy.
For after the world by its wisdom--as God in His wisdom had ordained--had failed to gain the knowledge of God, God was pleased, by the apparent foolishness of the Message which we preach, to save those who accepted it.
22 Judakhqi ing kawpoek kyi hatnaak ce ngaih uhy, Greekkhqi ing cyihnaak,
Seeing that Jews demand miracles, and Greeks go in search of wisdom,
23 cehlai ningnih ingtaw Khrih thinglam awi ce nik khypyi uhy: ve ak awi ve Judakhqi ang bahnaak na awm nawh Gentelkhqi a qawnaak na awm hy,
while we proclaim a Christ who has been crucified--to the Jews a stumbling-block, to Gentiles foolishness,
24 cehlai Khawsa ing ak khykhqi aham taw, Juda awm Greek awm, Khrih taw Khawsa ak thaawmnaak na a awm dawngawh, Khawsa a cyihnaak na awm hy.
but to those who have received the Call, whether Jews or Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25 Ikawtih Khawsa a qawnaak taw thlanghqing a cyihnaak anglakawh cyi bet nawh, Khawsa ak tha ama awmnaak taw thlanghqing ak tha awmnaak anglakawh ak tha awm bet hy.
Because that which the world deems foolish in God is wiser than men's wisdom, and that which it deems feeble in God is mightier than men's might.
26 Koeinaakhqi, nangmih khy na nami awm awh ikawmyihna nami awm tice poek lah uh. Thlanghqing a huh awhtaw nangmih ak khuiawh thlakcyi khawzah am awm uhyk ti; thlang ak khanawh ak awm khawzah am awm uhyk ti; qypawm ipkhui awh ak awm thlang khawzah am awm bai uhyk ti.
For consider, brethren, God's call to you. Not many who are wise with merely human wisdom, not many of position and influence, not many of noble birth have been called.
27 Cehlai thlakcyi chah sak aham Khawsa ing khawmdek awh ak qawkhqi ce tyk nawh; tha ak awmkhqi chah sak aham khawmdek awh tha amak awmkhqi ce tyk hy.
But God has chosen the things which the world regards as foolish, in order to put its wise men to shame; and God has chosen the things which the world regards as destitute of influence, in order to put its powerful things to shame;
28 Ve khawmdek awh ak kaina ak awmkhqi ingkaw thlang ing a thenaak khqi – ik-oeih ak awmkhqi ce hqe aham –
and the things which the world regards as base, and those which it sets utterly at nought--things that have no existence--God has chosen in order to reduce to nothing things that do exist;
29 u awm a haiawh amang oek qu aham amak awm ik-oeihkhqi ce tyk hy.
to prevent any mortal man from boasting in the presence of God.
30 Anih ak caming nangmih taw Jesu Khrih ak khuiawh awm uhyk ti, anih ce ningnih aham Khawsa ven awhkaw cyihnaak na awm hy – cetaw ningnih aham dyngnaak, ciimnaak ingkaw hulnaak na awm hy.
But you--and it is all God's doing--are in Christ Jesus: He has become for us a wisdom which is from God, consisting of righteousness and sanctification and deliverance;
31 Cedawngawh, U awm ak oek qu ingtaw Bawipa awh oek qu seh,” tinawh a qee awm hawh hy.
in order that it may be as Scripture says, "He who boasts--let his boast be in the Lord."
