< 1 Korin 13 >
1 Thlanghqing awi ingkaw khan thlang awina awikqawn nyng seiawm, lungnaak am ka taak awhtaw maawng ang qeeng ingkaw tlaklaak ang qeeng mai amyihna ni a awm hly.
If I speak with the tongues of humans and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong, or a clanging cymbal.
2 Tawngha awi kqawn thainaak ta nawh ang awihyp ingkaw simthainaak boeih ta nyng seiawm, tlang thoeihnaak thai dy cangnaak ak soep ta nyng seiawm, lungnaak am ka taak awhtaw ikaw phu am ta hy.
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 Ka khawhthemkhqi boeih khawdeng hahqahkhqi venawh pe nawh ka pum ve mai awh uih sak ham dyna pe qu mai nyng seiawm, lungnaak am ka taak awhtaw, ka hamna ikaw phu am ta hy.
If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
4 Lungnaak ingtaw yh thai nawh, qeennaak tahy. Lungnaak ing ytnaak am ta nawh, am hoel qu nawh, am oek qu hy.
Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud,
5 Am thin am se nawh, am kamvaa hy. Ak kaw am so sak nawh, thawlhnaak lam am poek hy.
does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not irritable, does not keep a record of wrongs;
6 Lungnaak ingtaw them che awh am zeel nawh, cehlai awitak ce ym hy.
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 A soep hoeiawh yh thai nawh, a soep awh cangnaak ta nawh, a soep awh ngaih-uunaak ta nawh, a dytnaak dyna yh thai hy.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Lungnaak ve ityk awh awm am dyt kaw. Cehlai tawnghak awi awm seiawm dyt kaw, amsim awi pau na awm seiawm dyt kaw, simnaak awm seiawm dyt kaw.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are tongues, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
9 Ningmih ing a vang a phal ni ni sim unawh a vang a phal doeng ni nik khypyi uhy,
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
10 cehlai soepnaak a nyn ce a pha law awh ama soepnaakkhqi boeih ce qeng hawh kaw.
but when that which is complete has come, that which is partial will be done away with.
11 Naasen na ka awm awh, naasen amyihna paunyng, naasen amyihna poek nyng, naasen amyihna zasim nyng. Cehlai ka pacawng awhtaw, naasen poeknaakkhqi boeih cehta nyng.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become an adult, I have put away childish things.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.
13 Ve pakthum tloek ve awm hy: vetloek taw cangnaak, ngaih-unaak ingkaw lungnaak ve ni. Cehlai ve tloek ak khuiawh ak bau soeih taw lungnaak ni.
But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
