< Ruth 4 >

And Boaz hath gone up to the gate, and sitteth there, and lo, the redeemer is passing by of whom Boaz had spoken, and he saith, 'Turn aside, sit down here, such a one, such a one;' and he turneth aside and sitteth down.
2 Te phoeiah khopuei kah a hamca rhoek te hlang parha a loh tih, “Hela ngol uh dae,” a ti nah vanbangla amih khaw ngol uh.
And he taketh ten men of the elders of the city, and saith, 'Sit down here;' and they sit down.
3 Te vaengah aka tlan koi taengah, “Mamih kah manuca Elimelekh khohmuen kah lo aka yoi Noami tah Moab kho lamkah ha bal coeng.
And he saith to the redeemer, 'A portion of the field which [is] to our brother, to Elimelech, hath Naomi sold, who hath come back from the fields of Moab;
4 Te dongah kai long tah namah hna ah kan yaak sak dae eh ka ti vanbangla hekah aka ngol rhoek hmai neh ka pilnam khuikah a hamca rhoek hmaiah koep lai laeh ka ti. Na tlan ham atah tlan laeh. Tedae na tlan pawt oeh atah kamah taengah he thui. Te daengah ni nang phoeiah aka tlan ham hlang a om pawt te ka ming khaw ka ming van eh. Tedae kai tah nang hnukkah pueng ni,” a ti nah vaengah, “Kamah loh ka tlan ni,” a ti.
and I said, I uncover thine ear, saying, Buy before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people; if thou dost redeem — redeem, and if none doth redeem — declare to me, and I know, for there is none save thee to redeem, and I after thee.' And he saith, I redeem [it].'
5 Te vaengah Boaz loh, “Naomi neh aka duek kah a yuu Moab nu Ruth kut lamkah khohmuen na lai khohnin vaengah aka duek ming te thoh pah ham ni a rho khaw na lai eh?,” a ti nah.
And Boaz saith, 'In the day of thy buying the field from the hand of Naomi, then from Ruth the Moabitess, wife of the dead, thou hast bought [it], to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance.'
6 Tedae aka tlan loh, “Kamah loh ka tlan ham akhaw a tlan ham ka noeng moenih. Ka rho he ka porhak sak ve. Namah ham na tlan mako. Ka tlannah neh tlan ham ka noeng moenih,” a ti nah.
And the redeemer saith, 'I am not able to redeem [it] for myself, lest I destroy mine inheritance; redeem for thyself — thou — my right of redemption, for I am not able to redeem.'
7 Hlamat vaengah tah Israel khuikah tlannah ham neh hnothung ham ol khat khat neh ana khueng thiluh. Te vaengah hlang pakhat loh a khokhom a dul tih a hui taengla a paek te Israel khuikah ciphuemyuhnah coeng ni.
And this [is] formerly in Israel for redemption and for changing, to establish anything: a man hath drawn off his sandal, and given [it] to his neighbour, and this [is] the testimony in Israel.
8 Te dongah aka tlan tueng loh Boaz taengah, “Namah ham lai laeh,” a ti nah tih a khokhom te a dul.
And the redeemer saith to Boaz, 'Buy [it] for thyself,' and draweth off his sandal.
9 Te dongah a hamca rhoek taeng neh pilnam boeih taengah Boaz loh, “Elimelekh kah a koe boeih khaw, Kilion neh Mahlon koe boeih khaw Naomi kut lamkah ka lai coeng tila tihnin ah laipai la na om uh coeng.
And Boaz saith to the elders, and [to] all the people, 'Witnesses [are] ye to-day that I have bought all that [is] to Elimelech, and all that [is] to Chilion and Mahlon, from the hand of Naomi;
10 Te dongah amah koe neh aka duek ming thoh pah ham ni Mahlon yurho, Moab nu Ruth khaw ka yuu la ka lai coeng. Te phoeiah aka duek kah a ming te a pacaboeina khui lamkah neh te hmuen vongka lamloh a muei pawt ham khaw tihnin ah laipai la na om uh coeng,” a ti nah.
and also Ruth the Moabitess, wife of Mahlon, I have bought to myself for a wife, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance; and the name of the dead is not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place; witnesses ye [are] to-day.'
11 Te vaengah vongka kah pilnam boeih neh a hamca rhoek loh, “Laipai la ka om uh coeng. Na im khuila aka kun huta tah, BOEIPA loh Israel imkhui aka thoh rhoi Rakhel neh Leah bangla khueh saeh. Epharath ah thadueng la om saeh lamtah Bethlehem ah a ming om saeh.
And all the people who [are] in the gate say — also the elders — 'Witnesses! Jehovah make the woman who is coming in unto thy house as Rachel and as Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and do thou virtuously in Ephrathah, and proclaim the Name in Beth-Lehem;
12 Hekah hula dongah BOEIPA loh nang m'paek na tii na ngan lamloh na imkhui khaw Tamar loh Judah ham a sak Perez imkhui bangla om saeh,” a ti nauh.
and let thy house be as the house of Pharez (whom Tamar bare to Judah), of the seed which Jehovah doth give to thee of this young woman.'
13 Boaz loh Ruth te a loh tih a yuu la coeng. Ruth taengla a kun vaengah rhumpum ham khaw BOEIPA loh a paek coeng dongah capa a cun.
And Boaz taketh Ruth, and she becometh his wife, and he goeth in unto her, and Jehovah giveth to her conception, and she beareth a son.
14 Te vaengah Naomi te huta rhoek loh, “Tihnin ah nang aka tlan ham te aka pat sak pawh BOEIPA te a yoethen pai saeh. A ming khaw Israel lakli ah thang pai saeh.
And the women say unto Naomi, 'Blessed [is] Jehovah who hath not let a redeemer cease to thee to-day, and his name is proclaimed in Israel,
15 Nang hamla na hinglu aka hlawt tih na sampok vaengah aka cangbam la om ni. Na langa loh nang n'lungnah tih anih a sak coeng. Anih pakhat he nang ham tah ca tongpa parhih lakah khaw then coeng,” a ti nauh.
and he hath been to thee for a restorer of life, and for a nourisher of thine old age, for thy daughter-in-law who hath loved thee — who is better to thee than seven sons — hath borne him.'
16 Camoe te Naomi loh a loh tih a rhang dongah a poem. Te dongah anih te camoe aka poeh la om.
And Naomi taketh the lad, and layeth him in her bosom, and is to him for a nurse;
17 Imben rhoek long khaw, “Naomi ham ca tongpa om coeng,” a ti uh camoe te a ming a sak pauh. Te dongah a ming te Obed a sak pauh. Anih tah Jesse napa tih, Jesse tah David napa la om.
and the neighbouring women give to him a name, saying, 'There hath been a son born to Naomi,' and they call his name Obed; he [is] father of Jesse, father of David.
18 Te dongah Perez a rhuirhong rhoek la Perez loh Khetsron a sak.
And these are genealogies of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,
19 Khetsron loh Ram a sak tih Ram loh Amminadab a sak.
and Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminidab,
20 Amminadab loh Nahshon a sak tih Nahshon loh Salmon a sak.
and Amminidab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,
21 Salmon loh Boaz a sak tih Boaz loh Obed a sak.
and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
22 Obed loh Jesse a sak tih Jesse loh David a sak.
and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
