< Rom 2 >
1 Hlang boeih lai aka tloek aw basa tloel la na om coeng, hlang tloe te me nen lae lai na tloek. Amah te tla kho na boe tih lai aka tloek tah namah na boe coeng.
Now then, you there, whoever you are who judges someone else for things you practice yourself—you condemn yourself and are inexcusable.
2 Tedae tebang khosa rhoek soah Pathen kah laitloeknah loh oltak ningla a om te m'ming uh.
Further, we know that God's judgment against those who practice such things is according to truth.
3 He he na thuep dae a? Aw nang hlang tebang khosak neh aka saii tih amih soah lai aka tloek, te nen a Pathen kah laitloeknah te na poenghal eh?
So then, you there, you who judge those who practice such things while doing the same, do you really imagine that you will escape God's judgment?
4 Amah kah rhennah neh a uehnah, thinsennah aka soep te nim na sit? Yutnah dongah nang aka mawt ham Pathen kah a kodam te na mangvawt nim.
Or do you scorn the riches of His kindness, tolerance and longsuffering, not recognizing that the goodness of God is leading you toward repentance?
5 Tedae na mangkhaknah neh thinko a cailak vanbangla kosi khohnin kah kosi neh Pathen kah laitloeknah dongah pumphoenah ni na tung coeng.
Rather, due to your hardness and unrepentant heart, you are treasuring up wrath for yourself in the day of God's wrath and revelation and righteous judgment,
6 Amah loh pakhat rhip he a bibi tarhing la a thuung ni.
who will repay each one according to his works:
7 Bibi then kah uehnah nen ngawn tah thangpomnah, hinyahnah, aka nguel dungyan hingnah ni a toem uh. (aiōnios )
to those who seek for glory, honor and incorruption, by persevering in doing good—eternal life; (aiōnios )
8 Te phoeiah koevoeinah neh oltak te a aek tih boethae la aka caemtuh tah kosi neh thinsanah,
but to those who, due to self-seeking, are actually disobeying the truth (while obeying the unrighteousness)—fury and wrath,
9 phacip phabaem neh citcai te lamhma ah Judah, te phoeiah Greek neh boethae aka thoeng sak hlang kah hinglu boeih soah tla ni.
tribulation and anguish, upon every human soul who works at the evil, whether Jew (first) or Greek;
10 Tedae thangpomnah, hinyahnah neh ngaimongnah tah boethen aka saii boeih neh lamhma la Judah, te phoeiah Greek taengah om ni.
but glory, honor and peace to everyone who works the good, whether Jew (first) or Greek.
11 Pathen taengah maelhmai sawtnah a om moenih.
Now there is no favoritism with God.
12 Aka tholh khungrhap boeih tah khungrhap la poci van vetih olkhueng hmuiah aka tholh rhoek boeih tah olkhueng loh lai a tloek pah ni.
For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law; while as many as have sinned with law will be judged by law.
13 Olkhueng aka yakung rhoek loh Pathen taengah dueng pawt tih, olkhueng aka vai ni a tang eh.
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified
14 Namtom rhoek loh olkhueng a khueh uh pawt vaengah a coengnah neh olkhueng te a vai uh. Amih loh olkhueng la khueh uh pawt cakhaw amih taengah olkhueng la om coeng.
(indeed, whenever the ethnic nations that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these, although not having law, are a law to themselves;
15 Amih thinko ah a tarhit olkhueng kah khoboe te amamih loh a phoe. Amamih kah mingcimnah neh pakhat kah poeknah laklo ah a mingpuei tih paelnaeh uh thae, huul uh thae.
who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their reasonings among themselves accusing or even excusing)
16 Jesuh Khrih rhangneh kai kah olthangthen bangla hlang rhoek kah olhuep te Pathen loh lai a tloek khohnin ah tueng ni.
in the day when God, according to my Gospel, will judge people's secrets by Jesus Christ.
17 Tedae namah loh Judah na ti atah, olkhueng na pangtung tih Pathen dongah na pomsang.
Look, you declare yourself a Jew, and rest on the Law, and boast in God,
18 A kongaih te na ming tih olkhueng neh n'thuituen vaengah a tanglue te na soepboe.
and know the Will, and approve the superior things, being instructed out of the Law.
19 Namah neh namah te na uep na tih mawtkung mikdael rhoek, yinnah khuiah vangnah la om ham,
Further, you are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those in darkness,
20 Aka ang rhoek hlinsaikung neh cahmang rhoek kah saya, mingnah lungsak neh olkhueng dongah oltak te na dang tih,
an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, having in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and truth.
21 Hlang tloe aka thuituen tangloeng loh namah na thuituen uh mahnim? Huen pawt ham aka hoe loh na huen nama?
You then, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach not to steal, do you steal?
22 Samphaih boeh aka ti loh na samphaih, mueirhol aka tuei loh bawkim te na muk nama?
You who say not to commit adultery, do you adulterate? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
23 Olkhueng dongah aka pomsang loh boekoeknah neh olkhueng rhangneh Pathen te yah na bai.
You who boast in the Law, do you dishonor God through the transgression of the Law?
24 Nangmih kongah ni Pathen kah ming tah namtom taengah a daek tangtae vanbangla a soehsal uh.
For, just as it is written: “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
25 Olkhueng te na hingpuei atah yahvinrhetnah khaw hoeikhang ngawn dae olkhueng dongah boekoekkung la na om atah nang kah yahvinrhetnah te pumdul la poeh.
Now circumcision does have value if you keep the Law, but if you are a transgressor of the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
26 Te dongah pumdul loh olkhueng kah rhilam rhoek te a tuem atah anih kah pumdul te yahvinrhetnah la nawt mahpawt nim?
So if the uncircumcised keeps the righteous requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision?
27 A coengnah dongah pumdul dae olkhueng aka soep sak loh, cabu neh yahvinrhetnah rhangneh olkhueng dongkah boekoekkung nang te lai han tloek ni.
And will not the physically uncircumcised who fulfills the law judge you, complete with written code and circumcision, who are a transgressor of the Law?
28 Judah hlang a mingpha la om he moenih. Pumsa ah aka mingpha yahvinrhetnah te moenih.
Because a person is not a [true] Jew who is only one outwardly, nor is [true] circumcision something outward in the flesh;
29 Tedae a olhuep dongkah Judah hlang ni a ti. Te phoeiah cabu nen pawt tih mueihla ah thinko yahvinrhetnah ni a ti. Anih kah thangthennah tah hlang lamkah pawt tih Pathen taeng lamkah ni.
but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart—in spirit, not letter—whose praise is not from men but from God.
