1 Aka mawt ham David kah Tingtoenglung Pathen aw ka kohuetnah ol he han ya lah. Thunkha kah birhihnah lamloh ka hingnah he hang kueinah lah.
To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my voice, in my (meditation) From the fear of an enemy Thou keepest my life,
2 Thaehuet rhoek kah baecenol neh, boethae aka saii rhoihui kut lamkah, kai nan thuh.
Hidest me from the secret counsel of evil doers, From the tumult of workers of iniquity.
3 A lai te cunghang bangla haat tih, a ol khaa te thaltang la a nuen uh.
Who sharpened as a sword their tongue, They directed their arrow — a bitter word.
4 A cuemthuek te a huephael lamloh a nuen tih, anih te buengrhuet a kah uh khaw rhih uh pawh.
To shoot in secret places the perfect, Suddenly they shoot him, and fear not.
5 Ol thae doek ham amamih thaphoh uh thae tih, “Hlaeh tung uh sih lamtah unim aka hmuh ve?,” a ti uh.
They strengthen for themselves an evil thing, They recount of the hiding of snares, They have said, 'Who doth look at it?'
6 Dumlai khaw a phuelhthaih uh tih, “Poeknah he khak n'uep coeng,” a tiuh. Te dongah hlang kah lungbuei khui he, a dung la om.
They search out perverse things, 'We perfected a searching search,' And the inward part of man, and the heart [are] deep.
7 Tedae amih te Pathen loh thaltang neh a kah buengrhuet vetih, hmasoe la om uh ni.
And God doth shoot them [with] an arrow, Sudden have been their wounds,
8 Te vaengah amamih kah olka a tongtah uh te, aka hmuh boeih loh yong uh ni.
And they cause him to stumble, Against them [is] their own tongue, Every looker on them fleeth away.
9 Tedae hlang tom loh a rhih uh vaengah, Pathen kah a bisai te a thui uh vetih, a khoboe te a lungming puei uh ni.
And all men fear, and declare the work of God, And His deed they have considered wisely.
10 Aka dueng te BOEIPA ah a kohoe saeh lamtah amah dongah ying saeh. Lungbuei aka thuem boeih khaw thangthen uh saeh.
The righteous doth rejoice in Jehovah, And hath trusted in Him, And boast themselves do all the upright of heart!
