1 Cueihnah loh a im a sak tih a tung parhih a vueh.
Wisdom hath built her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
2 A maeh te a ngawn tih misurtui neh a thoek tih a caboei te a tawn.
She hath killed her beasts; she hath mixed her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
3 Amah kah hula rhoek te a tueih tih, vangpuei hmuensang dangdoe lamkah a khue.
She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
4 Te phoeiah, “Unim hlangyoe, anih te lungbuei a talh khaw pahoi nong tak saeh.
Whoever is simple, let him turn in here: as for him that lacketh understanding, she saith to him,
5 Halo, ka buh he ang uh lamtah misur ka thoek he o uh.
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mixed.
6 Hlangyoe te hnoo lamtah hing uh, yakmingnah longpuei te uem uh.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
7 Hmuiyoi aka toel tah amah loh yah a poh tih, halang aka tluung tah amah loh nganboh a yook.
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
8 Hmuiyoi te tluung boeh namah m'hmuhuet ve.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he shall hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10 BOEIPA hinyahnah tah cueihnah lamhma la om tih aka cim mingnah he yakmingnah la om.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
If thou art wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
14 Tedae a im thohka neh vangpuei hmuensang kah ngolkhoel dongah ngol.
For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15 Te vaengah a caehlong a dueng la longpuei ah aka pongpa rhoek te a khue.
To call those who pass by who go right on their ways:
16 “Hlangyoe neh lungbuei aka talh tah pahoi ha pah saeh.
Whoever is simple, let him turn in here: and as for him that lacketh understanding, she saith to him,
17 A tui huen aka tui sak tih yinhnuk buh neh aka hmae,” a ti.
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
18 Tedae saelkhui laedil ah sairhai pahoi a khue pah te ming pawh. (Sheol h7585)
But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. (Sheol h7585)
