1 Hlang taengah lungbuei kah rhoekbahnah om dae olka hlatnah he BOEIPA lamkah ni.
The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, [are] from the LORD.
2 Hlang kah a longpuei boeih he amah mikhmuh ah khui dae, BOEIPA long tah a mueihla ni a khiinglang pah.
All the ways of a man [are] clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
3 Na bibi te BOEIPA taengah hal lamtah, na kopoek cikngae bitni.
Commit thy works to the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 Soeprhaep boeih he amah kah a hlatnah ham BOEIPA loh a saii. Te dongah halang pataeng yoethae hnin kah ham a hlun.
The LORD hath made all [things] for himself: yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Kut neh kut hlaengtang tih lungbuei aka oek boeih BOEIPA kah a tueilaehkoi la a om dongah hmil mahpawh.
Every one [that is] proud in heart [is] an abomination to the LORD: [though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6 Sitlohnah neh oltak loh thaesainah a dawth tih, BOEIPA hinyahnah loh boethae lamkah a nong sak.
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD [men] depart from evil.
7 Hlang kah khosing te BOEIPA loh a moeithen vaengah a thunkha rhoek pataeng amah taengah a rhong sak.
When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Duengnah neh yol mai cakhaw, a tiktam mueh canghum cangpai lakah then.
Better [is] a little with righteousness, than great revenues without right.
9 Hlang kah lungbuei loh amah longpuei te a moeh tih, BOEIPA loh a khokan a cikngae sak.
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
10 Manghai ka dongkah bihma tah laitloeknah ham ni, te dongah a ka vikvawk boel saeh.
A divine sentence [is] in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
11 Tiktamnah cooi neh coilung tah BOEIPA taeng lamkah ni, sungsa coilung boeih khaw amah kah a bibi ni.
A just weight and balance [are] the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag [are] his work.
12 Duengnah loh ngolkhoel a cikngae sak dongah, manghai rhoek loh halangnah a saii ham tah tueilaehkoi la om.
[It is] an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Duengnah hmuilai tah manghai rhoek kah kolonah om tih, a thuem aka thui te a lungnah.
Righteous lips [are] the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
14 Manghai kah kosi tah dueknah puencawn ni. Te dongah hlang cueih long ni kosi a daeh sak thai eh.
The wrath of a king [is as] messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
15 Manghai kah maelhmai khosae dongah hingnah tih, a kolonah tah tlankhol vaengkah khomai banghui ni.
In the light of a king's countenance [is] life; and his favor [is] as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 Cueihnah lai he sui lakah bahoeng then tih, yakmingnah lai he khaw tangka n'tuek lakah then.
How much better [is it] to get wisdom than gold? and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver?
17 Boethae lamloh aka nong hamla a thuem longpuei om tih, a hinglu aka ngaithuen loh a longpuei a kueinah.
The highway of the upright [is] to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18 Pocinah kah a hmaiah hoemdamnah om tih, cungkunah kah a hmaiah ah mueihla oeknah a lamhma pah.
Pride [goeth] before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Thinthah neh kutbuem n'tael lakah kodo mangdaeng neh mueihla kunyun te then.
Better [it is to be] of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 Olka neh aka cangbam long tah hnothen a dang tih, BOEIPA dongah aka pangtung tah a yoethen pai.
He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoever trusteth in the LORD, happy [is] he.
21 Lungbuei aka cueih te aka yakming la a khue uh tih, hmuilai dongkah olding loh rhingtuknah a thap.
The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22 Lungmingnah te a kungmah la aka khueh long tah hingnah thunsih la om tih, aka ang rhoek kah thuituennah tah anglat la poeh.
Understanding [is] a well-spring of life to him that hath it: but the instruction of fools [is] folly.
23 Aka cueih kah lungbuei tah a ka a cangbam tih, a hmuilai dongah rhingtuknah a thap.
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
24 Ol then tah, hinglu ham khoitui khoitak bangla didip tih, rhuh hamla hoeihnah la om.
Pleasant words [are as] a honey-comb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 Hlang mikhmuh ah longpuei te thuem dae a hmailong ah dueknah longpuei la om.
There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end of it [is] the ways of death.
26 Thakthaekung kah a hinglu loh amah hamla thakthae tih a ka te a kamcah sak.
He that laboreth laboreth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
27 Hlang muen loh boethae a vueh tih, a hmuilai dongah hmai bangla rhangto.
An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips [there is] as a burning fire.
28 Calaak hlang loh olpungkacan a haeh tih, hlang aka thet loh boeihlum a pamhma sak.
A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29 Kuthlahnah hlang loh a hui a hloeh tih, longpuei a then pawt la a caeh puei.
A violent man enticeth his neighbor, and leadeth him into the way [that is] not good.
30 Calaak te moeh hamla a mik aka him tih, a hmui saibaeh loh boethae a cung sak.
He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
31 Sampok he boeimang rhuisam la om tih, duengnah longpuei kah aka om loh a dang.
The hoary head [is] a crown of glory, [if] it is found in the way of righteousness.
32 Thintoek aka ueh tah hlangrhalh lakah, a mueihla aka taem khaw khopuei aka ta lakah then.
[He that is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.
33 A rhang dongah hmulung khoh cakhaw a laitloeknah boeih tah BOEIPA lamkah ni a om.
The lot is cast into the lap: but the whole disposing of it [is] from the LORD.
