Wherever pride enters, there will be also disgrace: but the mouth of the lowly meditates wisdom.
3 Aka thuem rhoek kah muelhtuetnah loh amamih te a mawt tih, hnukpoh rhoek kah a saveknah loh amamih te a rhoelrhak la a rhoelrhak sak.
When a just man dies he leaves regret: but the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy.
4 A thinpom khohnin ah tah a boeirhaeng nen khaw hoeikhang pawt vetih, duengnah long ni dueknah lamloh a huul eh.
[Possessions will not profit in a day of wrath, but righteousness will deliver from death. ]
5 Duengnah long tah a longpuei te cuemthuek la a dueng sak tih, halang te a a halangnah loh a cungku sak.
Righteousness traces out blameless paths: but ungodliness encounters unjust dealing.
6 Aka dueng rhoek tah duengnah loh a huul tih, hnukpoh rhoek tah talnah loh a tuuk.
The righteousness of upright men delivers them: but transgressors are caught in their own destruction.
7 Halang hlang kah dueknah dongah ngaiuepnah khaw moelh tih, thahuem kah ngaiuepnah khaw tahah.
At the death of a just man his hope does not perish: but the boast of the ungodly perishes.
8 Aka dueng tah citcai lamkah khaw pumcum tih anih yueng la halang taengla a pawk pah.
A righteous man escapes from a snare, and the ungodly man is delivered up in his place.
9 Lailak kah a ka loh a hui a phae tih aka dueng kah mingnah rhangneh pumcum uh.
In the mouth of ungodly men is a snare to citizens: but the understanding of righteous men is prosperous.
10 Aka dueng kah thennah dongah ni khorha loh sundaep thil tih halang a milh vaengah tamlung a lohuh.
In the prosperity of righteous men a city prospers: but by the mouth of ungodly men it is overthrown.
11 Aka thuem rhoek kah yoethennah loh vangpuei a pomsang tih, halang kah a ka longtah a koengloeng.
[At the blessing of the upright a city shall be exalted. ]
12 Lungbuei aka talh loh a hui te a hnoel a rhoeng dae lungcuei hlang long tah hil a phah.
A man void of understanding sneers at [his fellow] citizens: but a sensible man is quiet.

A double-tongued man discloses the [secret] counsels of an assembly: but he that is faithful in spirit conceals matters.

They that have no guidance fall like leaves: but in much counsel there is safety.

A bad man does harm wherever he meets a just man: and he hates the sound of safety.
16 Huta mikdaithen loh thangpomnah te a moem tih, hlanghaeng loh khuehtawn a koi ni.
A gracious wife brings glory to her husband: but a woman hating righteousness is a theme of dishonour. The slothful come to lack: but the diligent support themselves with wealth.
17 Sitlohnah aka khueh hlang loh a hinglu khaw a phai dae muenying muenyang loh a pumsa a lawn khoeng.
A merciful man does good to his own soul: but the merciless destroys his own body.
18 Halang loh a honghi khaw thaphu la a saii tih, duengnah cangti aka tuh longtah oltak kutphu te a doe.
An ungodly man performs unrighteous works: but the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth.
19 Duengnah tah hingnah la pawk tih, boethae aka hloem khaw a dueknah ham ni.
A righteous son is born for life: but the persecution of the ungodly [ends] in death.
20 Lungbuei a voeldak tah BOEIPA kah a tueilaehkoi tih, cuemthuek longpuei tah a kolonah la om.
Perverse ways are an abomination to the Lord: but all they that are blameless in their ways are acceptable to him.
21 Kut sokah kut pataeng boethae a hmil moenih, tedae aka dueng kah tiingan tah loeih ni.
He that unjustly strikes hands shall not be unpunished: but he that sows righteousness he shall receive a faithful reward.
22 Sakthen nu khaw omih aka phaelh tah ok hnarhong dongkah sui hnaii banghui ni.
As an ornament in a swine's snout, so is beauty to an ill-minded women.
23 Aka dueng rhoek long tah a then ngaiuepnah bueng ni a ngaihlihnah tih halang rhoek long tah thinpom a khueh.
All the desire of the righteous is good: but the hope of the ungodly shall perish.
24 A khueh duen te a tael tih koep a koei pah, hloh malcal khaw tloelnah la om sumsoek.
There are [some] who scatter their own, and make it more: and there are [some] also who gather, [yet] have less.
25 yoethennah hinglu loh a doedan vetih, a tulcah dongah amah te khaw a suep van ni.
Every sincere soul is blessed: but a passionate man is not graceful.
26 Cangpai aka hloh te namtu loh a tap tih aka hlah te tah a lu ah yoethennah loh a vuei.
May he that hoards corn leave it to the nation: but blessing be on the head of him that gives [it].
27 A then aka toem loh kolonah a tlap tih, boethae aka tlap tah amah a thoeng thil.
He that devises good [counsels] seeks good favour: but [as for] him that seeks after evil, [evil] shall overtake him.
28 A khuehtawn dongah aka pangtung tah cungku vetih aka dueng rhoek tah thinghnah bangla boe ni.
He that trusts in wealth shall fall; but he that helps righteous men shall rise.
29 A imkhui aka lawn tah khohli a pang vetih, aka ang khaw lungbuei aka cueih taengah sal la om ni.
He that deals not graciously with his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise man.
30 Aka dueng kah a thaih tah hingnah thingkung la om tih, hinglu aka tuek ni aka cueih.
Out of the fruit of righteousness grows a tree of life; but the souls of transgressors are cut off before their time.
31 Aka dueng pataeng diklai dongah a thuung atah halang neh laihmu aisat te a thuung ni ta.
If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
