< Matthai 19 >

1 Jesuh loh he rhoek kah ol boeih he bawt a khah phoeiah Galilee lamloh nong tih Jordan rhalvangan Judea vaang la pawk.
When Jesus had finished saying these things, he departed from Galilee and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
2 Te vaengah Jesuh te hlangping loh muep a vai uh tih amih rhoek te pahoi a hoeih sak.
Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
3 Te vaengah Pharisee rhoek loh Jesuh te a paan uh tih a noemcai uh. Te vaengah, “Paelnaehnah khat khat dongah a yuu hla koinih tongpa ham tueng aya? a ti na uh.
Then the Pharisees came up to Jesus and tested him by asking him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
4 Tedae Jesuh loh a doo tih, “A tongcuek lamkah aka suen loh amih rhoi tongpa neh huta bueng a saii te na tae uh moenih a?
He answered them, “Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning ‘made them male and female,’
5 Tedae he kongah ni, 'tongpa loh a manu neh a napa te a imphael tak ni. Te vaengah a yuu taengah kap vetih panit te pumsa pakhat la om ni,’ a ti.
and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
Te dongah Pathen loh a yingyawn sak te hlang loh maa sak boel saeh,” a ti nah.
So then, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
7 Te phoeiah Jesuh te, “Balae tih yuuhlaknah cayol te paek tih tueih ham Moses loh a uen,” a ti na uh.
They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
9 Tedae nangmih taengah kan thui, Cukhalnah kawng pawt ah a yuu a hlak tih a tloe aka lo te tah samphaih coeng,” a ti nah.
I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”
10 A hnukbang rhoek loh amah taengah, “A yuu taengah a va kah paelnaehnah om tangloeng koinih vasak te rhoei mahpawh,” a ti na uh.
His disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”
11 Tedae Jesuh loh amih te, “Hekah ol he hlang boeih loh a khingmong thai moenih. Tedae a paek rhoek long ni a khingmong thai.
But Jesus said to them, “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it is given.
Aka khingmong thai loh khingmong saeh,” a ti nah.
For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Whoever is able to accept this should accept it.”
13 Te phoeiah amih kut tloeng tih thangthui sak ham camoe rhoek te a taengla a khuen uh. Tedae amih te hnukbang rhoek loh a ho uh.
Then little children were brought to Jesus so that he might lay his hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 Tedae Jesuh loh, “Camoe rhoek te hlah uh lamtah kai taengla ha pawk ham atah amih te kanghalh uh boeh, vaan ram tah amih ham ni a om,” a ti nah.
Yet Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
15 Amih soah kut a tloeng tih te lamloh vik cet.
And after laying his hands on them, he departed from there.
16 Te phoeiah hlang pakhat loh Jesuh taengla pakcak a paan tih, “Saya, dungyan hingnah ka khueh ham mebang hno then nim ka saii eh,” a ti nah. (aiōnios g166)
And behold, a man came and said to him, “Good Teacher, what good thing must I do to have eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
17 Tedae Jesuh loh anih te, “Balae tih kai he a then kawng nan dawt? A then pakhat ni a om. Tedae hingnah khuila kun na ngaih atah olpaek te tuem,” a ti nah.
Jesus said to him, “Why do yoʋ call me good? No one is good except God alone. But if yoʋ wish to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18 Jesuh te, “Mebang nim,” a ti nah. Te dongah Jesuh loh, “Hlang ngawn boeh, samphaih boeh, huencan boeh, laithae boeh
The man said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “Yoʋ shall not murder, Yoʋ shall not commit adultery, Yoʋ shall not steal, Yoʋ shall not give false testimony,
Honor yoʋr father and yoʋr mother, and, Yoʋ shall love yoʋr neighbor as yoʋrself.”
20 Cadong loh, “He rhoek he boeih ka tuem coeng, balae ka phavawt bal pueng?” a ti nah.
The young man said to him, “I have kept all these commandments from the time I was a young boy; what do I still lack?”
Te phoeiah kai pahoi m'vai,” a ti nah.
Jesus said to him, “If yoʋ wish to be perfect, go sell what yoʋ have and give to the poor, and yoʋ will have treasure in heaven; then come follow me.”
22 Tedae cadong tah hnopai muep aka khueh la a om dongah ol te a yaak vaengah kothae doeah cet.
But when the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions.
23 Te vaengah Jesuh loh a hnukbang rhoek te, “Nangmih taengah rhep ka thui, kuirhang tah vaan ram ah kun tloel ni.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Te phoeiah nangmih taengah koep kan thui, kuirhang te Pathen ram khuiah a kun lakah kalauk te phamet khui longah a ael ke yoeikoek la om,” a ti nah.
Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 Hnukbang rhoek loh a yaak uh vaengah let uh dahlawt tih, “Te koinih ulae khang la aka om eh?” a ti uh.
When his disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Tedae Jesuh loh amih te a sawt tih, “He he hlang taengah a tloel la om, tedae Pathen taengah boeih coeng thai,” a ti nah.
Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Te vaengah Peter loh a doo tih, “Kaimih tah rhoepsaep boeih ka toeng uh tih, namah kam vai uh coeng he. Te koinih kaimih ham balae aka om eh?” a ti nah.
Then Peter said to him in response, “Behold, we have left everything and followed yoʋ; what then will there be for us?”
28 Te dongah Jesuh loh, “Nangmih taengah rhep ka thui, nangmih loh kai nam vai uh coeng. Hlang capa tah koepcunnah dongah a thangpomnah ngolkhoel sola ngol ni. Nangmih khaw ngolkhoel hlainit soah na ngol uh vetih Israel koca hlainit te lai na tloek uh ni.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, when all things are made new and the Son of Man sits on his throne of glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 Kai ming kongah a im a lo boeih, manuca rhoek, ngannu rhoek, a manu napa, a ca rhoek, aka toeng boeih te tah a pueh yakhat a dang vetih dungyan hingnah a pang ni. (aiōnios g166)
And everyone who has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, wife, children, or fields for my name's sake, will receive a hundred times more and will inherit eternal life.
But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
