< Matthai 13 >
1 Te hnin ah Jesuh tah im lamloh cet tih tuili kaengah ngol.
And in that day Jesus, having gone forth from the house, was sitting by the sea,
2 Te vaengah hlangping rhoek tah anih taengah muep tingtun uh. Te dongah amah tah lawng khuiah ngol hamla kun. Tedae hlangping tah tuikaeng ah boeih pai.
and gathered together to Him were many multitudes, so that He having gone into the boat sat down, and all the multitude on the beach stood,
3 Te phoeiah amih taengah nuettahnah neh muep a thui tih, “Cangti aka haeh tah cangti haeh la cet ne,
and He spoke to them many things in allegories, saying, “Behold, the sower went forth to sow,
4 Cangti a haeh vaengah a ngen te longpuei ah tla. Te dongah vaa loh a paan tih a kueh.
and in his sowing, some indeed fell by the way, and the birds having come, devoured them,
5 Angen tah lungrhong dongah tla tih, laimen muep a om pawt dongah tlek poe. Tedae laimen a dung la aom moenih.
and others fell on the rocky places where they did not have much earth, and immediately they sprang forth, through having no depth of earth,
6 A yung a om pawt dongah khomik ha thoeng vaengah tah a kaeng tih koh.
and the sun having risen they were scorched, and through having no root, they withered,
7 Angen tah hling khuiah tla tih hling te a rhoeng vaengah tah cang te a huep.
and others fell on the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them,
8 Tedae a ngen tah lai then dongah tla tih a thaih, a ngen yakhat, a ngen sawmrhuk, a ngen tah sawmthum la thaii.
and others fell on the good ground, and were giving fruit, some indeed a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.
9 Hna aka khueh loh ya saeh,” a ti nah.
He who is having ears to hear—let him hear.”
10 Te phoeiah hnukbang rhoek loh a paan uh tih, “Balae tih nuettahnah neh amih na voek?,” a ti nauh.
And the disciples having come near, said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in allegories?”
11 Jesuh loh amih te a doo tih, “Vaan ram kah olhuep ming sak ham nangmih taengah m'paek coeng dae te rhoek taengah a paek moenih.
And He answering said to them that, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of the heavens, and to these it has not been given,
12 Aka khueh te tah a paek thil vetih a coih pah ni. Tedae aka khueh pawt te a khueh duen pataeng te a taeng lamkah loh a lat pah ni.
for whoever has, it will be given to him, and he will have overabundance, and whoever has not, even that which he has will be taken from him.
13 Te dongah ni amih taengah nuettahnah neh ka thui pah. A hmuh uh dae hmat uh pawh. A hnatun uh dae ya uh pawt tih hmuhming uh pawh.
Because of this, in allegories I speak to them, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor understand,
and fulfilled on them is the prophecy of Isaiah that says, With hearing you will hear, and you will not understand, and seeing you will see, and you will not perceive,
15 Pilnam kah thinko he tah a talh pah coeng. Te dongah hna neh a hnatun uh tloel tih a mik khaw a him uh. A mik neh a hmuh uh tih, hna neh a yaak uh, a thinko neh hmuhming uh tih ha bal uh koinih amih te ka hoeih sak ni,” a ti te soep coeng.
for the heart of this people was made obtuse, and with the ears they barely heard, and they closed their eyes, lest they might see with the eyes, and might hear with the ears, and understand with the heart, and turn back, and I might heal them.
16 Tedae nangmih kah mik loh a hmuh tih na hna loh a yaak dongah a yoethen.
And blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear,
17 Rhep kan thui, tonghma rhoek boeih neh hlang dueng rhoek loh na hmuh uh te hmuh a hue uh dae hmu uh pawh, na yaak uh te yaak ham akhaw a yaak uh moenih.
for truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see that which you look on, and they did not see, and to hear that which you hear, and they did not hear.
18 “Te dongah nangmih loh cangti aka tuh kah nuettahnah he hnatun uh.
You, therefore, hear the allegory of the sower:
19 Ram kah olka te a yaak dae aka hmuhming pawt boeih tah, rhaithae loh ha pawk atah a thinko ah tuh tangtae a poel a yoe pah. Te tah longpuei kah a haeh coeng te ni.
Everyone hearing the word of the kingdom, and not understanding—the evil one comes, and snatches that which has been sown in his heart; this is that sown by the way.
20 Lungrhong sokah a haeh te tah ol te a yaak vaengah omngaihnah neh tlek aka doe ni.
And that sown on the rocky places, this is he who is hearing the word, and immediately with joy is receiving it,
21 Tedae a khuiah a yung a khueh pawt dongah kolkalh ni a om. Tedae olka kongah hnaemtaeknah neh phacipphabaem a om vaengah voeng a khah.
and he has no root in himself, but is temporary, and persecution or tribulation having happened because of the word, immediately he is stumbled.
22 Hling laklikah a tuh tah ol te aka ya la om dae dilai kah mawntangnah neh khuehtawn kah hmilhmaknah loh ol te a thing tih a tlongtlai la poeh. (aiōn )
And that sown toward the thorns, this is he who is hearing the word, and the anxiety of this age, and the deceitfulness of the riches, chokes the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn )
23 Tedae lai then sokah a tuh tah ol te a yaak tih aka hmuhming la om. Anih tah a ngen yakhat, a ngen sawmrhuk, a ngen thumkip la vuei tih thaihtak,” a ti nah.
And that sown on the good ground: this is he who is hearing the word, and is understanding, who indeed bears fruit, and makes, some indeed a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.”
24 A tloe nuettahnah te amih a paek tih, “Vaan ram tah amah lo ah cangti then aka tuh hlang neh vai uh.
Another allegory He set before them, saying, “The kingdom of the heavens was likened to a man sowing good seed in his field,
25 Tedae hlang a ih vaengah a rhal ha pawk tih, cang lak ah paitaang a haeh phoeiah vik cet.
and while men are sleeping, his enemy came and sowed darnel in the midst of the wheat, and went away,
26 Khopol te muem tih a vuei a thaih vaengah tah paitaang te khaw phoe.
and when the herb sprang up, and yielded fruit, then appeared also the darnel.
27 Te vaengah a sal rhoek loh a kungmah te a paan uh tih, “Boeipa, na lo ah cangti then na haeh moenih a? Tedae paitaang aka om he me lamkah lae?” a ti nah.
And the servants of the householder, having come near, said to him, Lord, did you not sow good seed in your field? From where then does it have the darnel?
28 Te vaengah amih te, “He tah rhal hlang loh a saii,” a ti nah. Te dongah sal rhoek loh a taengah, “Ka cet uh vetih te te yoep sak ham na ngaih a?” a ti na uh.
And he says to them, A man, an enemy, did this; and the servants said to him, Will you, then, [that] having gone away we may gather it up?
29 Tedae amah loh, 'Pawh, paitaang te na yoep uh vaenngah cang neh rhenten na phu uh ve?
And he said, No, lest—gathering up the darnel—you root up with it the wheat;
30 Cangah duela bok rhoeng sak mai. Cangah tue ah cangat rhoek te, 'Paitaang te lamhma la yoep uh lamtah hoeh hamla a pok la pok uh, tedae cang te tah kai kah khai khuila khoem uh, ' ka ti nah bitni,’ a ti nah,” te a thui pah.
permit both to grow together until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the darnel, and bind it in bundles, to burn it, and the wheat gather up into my storehouse.”
31 A tloe nuettahnah amih a paek tih, “Vaan ram tah mukang mu phek la om, te te hlang loh a loh tih a lo ah a tue.
Another allegory He set before them, saying, “The kingdom of the heavens is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, sowed in his field,
32 Te te a mu aka om boeih lakah yiit. Tedae a rhoeng vaengah toian aka om boeih lakah tanglue tih thing la poeh. Te daengah ni vaan kah vaa loh ha pawk uh tih a hlaeng dongah bu a tuk,” a ti nah.
which less, indeed, is than all the seeds, but when it may be grown, is greatest of the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the sky come and rest in its branches.”
33 A tloe nuettahnah neh amih te, “Vaan ram tah tolrhu phek la om. Te te huta loh a loh tih vaidam khoi thum khuiah a hlum vaengah boeih a rhoi sak,” a ti nah.
Another allegory He spoke to them: “The kingdom of the heavens is like to leaven, which a woman having taken, hid in three measures of meal, until the whole was leavened.”
34 Jesuh loh he rhoek boeih he nuettahnah neh hlangping taengah a thui. Nuettahnah pawt atah amih taengah ol a thui moenih.
All these things Jesus spoke in allegories to the multitudes, and without an allegory He was not speaking to them,
35 Te daengah ni tonghma loh a phong, “Nuettahnah neh ka ka ka ong vetih Diklai a tongnah lamloh a thuhphah te ka phoe ni,” a ti te a soep eh.
that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophet, saying, “I will open in allegories My mouth, I will utter things having been hidden from the foundation of the world.”
36 Hlangping te a tueih phoeiah im khuila kun. Te vaengah a hnukbang rhoek loh a taengla a paan uh tih, “Lo kah paitaang nuettahnah te kaimih ham thuicaih lah,” a ti nah.
Then having let away the multitudes, Jesus came into the house, and His disciples came near to Him, saying, “Explain to us the allegory of the darnel of the field.”
37 Te vaengah Jesuh loh a doo tih, “Cangti then aka tuh tah hlang capa ni.
And He answering said to them, “He who is sowing the good seed is the Son of Man,
38 Lohma tah Diklai ni. Te phoeiah cangti then tah ram kah a ca rhoek ni. Tedae paitaang tah rhaithae kah a ca rhoek ni.
and the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, and the darnel are the sons of the evil one,
39 Te te aka haeh rhal te tah rhaithae ni. Cangah tue tah lunglai tue a bawtnah ni. Cangat rhoek tah puencawn rhoek ni. (aiōn )
and the enemy who sowed them is the Devil, and the harvest is [the] full end of the age, and the reapers are messengers. (aiōn )
40 Te dongah paitaang a yoep uh tih hmai neh a hoeh bangla kumhal kah a bawtnah dongah om van ni. (aiōn )
As, then, the darnel is gathered up, and is burned with fire, so will it be in the full end of this age; (aiōn )
41 Hlang capa loh a puencawn rhoek te a tueih ni. Te vaengah thangkui neh olaeknah aka saii rhoek boeih te a ram lamloh a bit uh ni.
the Son of Man will send forth His messengers, and they will gather up out of His kingdom all the stumbling-blocks, and those doing the lawlessness,
42 Te phoeiah amih te hmai alh khuila a phum uh ni. Te rhoek ah rhah neh, no rhuengnah nen ni a om eh.
and will cast them into the furnace of the fire; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.
43 Te vaengah aka dueng rhoek tah Pa kah ram ah khomik bangla sae uh ni. Hna aka khueh loh ya saeh.
Then will the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who is having ears to hear—let him hear.
44 Vaan ram tah lohma ah a thuh sut khohrhang phek la om. Te te hlang loh a hmuh vaengah a thuh tih a omngaihnah neh cet. Te phoeiah a khueh boeih te a yoih tih te kah lohmuen te a lai.
Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like to treasure hid in the field, which a man having found, hid, and from his joy goes, and all, as much as he has, he sells, and buys that field.
45 Te phoeiah vaan ram tah laitha then aka toem hnoyoi hlang phek la om.
Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like to a man, a merchant, seeking good pearls,
46 Laitha a phu aka tlo pakhat la a hmuh dongah, a caeh neh a khueh boeih te a yoih tih a lai.
who having found one pearl of great price, having gone away, has sold all, as much as he had, and bought it.
47 Vaan ram tah tuili khuila lawk aka voei bangla om bal tih namtu cungkuem lamkah khaw a coi.
Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like to a net that was cast into the sea, and gathered together of every kind,
48 Te te a bae vaengah lihmoi la a kawt uh. Te phoeiah ngol uh tih a then te busui khuila a sang uh. Tedae a thae te tah phawn a voeih uh.
which, when it was filled, having drawn up again on the beach, and having sat down, they gathered the good into vessels, and the bad they cast out,
49 Kumhal kah a bawtnah dongah om van ni. Puencawn rhoek loh cet uh vetih aka dueng lakli kah boethae rhoek te a hoep ni. (aiōn )
so will it be in the full end of the age, the messengers will come forth and separate the evil out of the midst of the righteous, (aiōn )
50 Te phoeiah amih te hmai alh khuila a voeih uh ni. Te hmuen ah rhah neh no rhuengnah ni aka om eh.,” a ti nah.
and will cast them into the furnace of the fire; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.”
51 “He rhoek boeih he na hmuhming uh a?” a ti nah. Amah taengah, “Ue,” a ti uh.
Jesus says to them, “Did you understand all these?” They say to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
52 Te dongah amih taengah, “Vaan ram kah aka bang cadaek boeih tah a khohrhang khuikah a rhuem neh a thai aka pok hlang imkung phek la om,” a ti nah.
And He said to them, “Because of this, every scribe having been discipled in regard to the kingdom of the heavens is like to a man, a householder, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.”
53 Jesuh loh nuettahnah he bawt a khah tih te lamloh vik nong.
And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these allegories, He removed from there,
54 Te phoeiah amah tolrhum la pawk tih amamih kah tunim ah amih te a thuituen hatah let uh tih, “Anih kah cueihnah neh a thaomnah he me lamkah nim?
and having come to His own country, He was teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and were saying, “From where to this One this wisdom and the mighty works?
55 “Anih he kutthai capa la aom moenih a? A manu tah Mary la a khue uh moenih a? A mana rhoek khaw James, Josephb, Simon, Judah ta.
Is this not the carpenter’s Son? Is His mother not called Mary, and His brothers James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56 A ngannu rhoek khaw mamih taengah boeih a om uh moenih a? Te dongah anih taengkah boeih he me lamkah nim?” a ti uh.
And His sisters—are they not all with us? From where, then, to this One all these?”
57 Tedae anih kongah amamih te a khah uh. Te dongah Jesuh loh amih te, “Tonghma he amah im neh amah kah tolrhum pawt atah sawtsit ti om pawh,” a ti nah.
And they were stumbled at Him. And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, and in his own house”:
58 Tedae amih kah hnalvalnah kongah a thaomnah muep tueng sak pawh.
and He did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.
