< Matthai 12 >
1 Te vaeng tue kah Sabbath ah Jesuh tah lohma longah cet. A hnukbang rhoek tah a bungpong uh tih cangvuei a yun uh tih koe a kueh a uh.
At that time, Yeshua went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His talmidim were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
2 Tedae Pharisee rhoek loh a hmuh uh vaengah Jesuh te, “Sabbath ah saii ham a paek pawt te na hnukbang rhoek loh a saii uh ke,” a ti nah.
But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, "Look, your talmidim do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath."
3 Tedae Jesuh loh, “David neh a taengkah rhoek loh a bung a pong vaengah balae a saii, na tae uh moenih a?
But he said to them, "Have you not read what David did, when he and his companions were hungry;
4 Pathen im khuila kun tih a hmai kah buh a caak te ta. Te te anih kah a caak tueng la a om moenih, khosoih rhoek bueng pawt atah a taengkah rhoek ham khaw a om moenih.
how he entered into the house of God, and they ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the cohanim?
5 Sabbath ah bawkim kah khosoih rhoek loh Sabbath te a poeih dae ommongsitoe la a om uh te olkhueng khuiah na tae uh moenih a?
Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath day the cohanim in the temple profane the Sabbath and are blameless?
6 Tedae nangmih taengah kan thui, bawkim lakah aka tanglue ngai tah he ah om ta.
But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here.
7 Tedae metla a om khaw na ming uh koinih, rhennah ni ka ngaih hmueih moenih,’ a ti dongah ommongsitoe te na boe sak uh pawt sue.
But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.
8 Hlang capa tah Sabbath boeipa la om,” a ti.
For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
9 Te lamloh thoeih tih amamih kah tunim la pawk.
And he departed from there and went into their synagogue.
10 Te vaengah kut khaem hlang pakhat khoem om. Te dongah anih a paelnaeh ham te a dawt uh tih, “Sabbath ah hoeih sak ham tueng a?” a ti nah.
And look, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?" that they might accuse him.
11 Tedae amih te, “Nangmih khuikah tu pakhat mai khaw aka khueh hlang om a te? Te te Sabbath ah rhom khuila cungku koinih lo pawt vetih doek mahpawt a?
And he said to them, "Which one of you who has one sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out?
12 Hlang he tu lakah muep tanglue ta. Te dongah Sabbath ah a then saii he tueng ta,” a ti nah.
Of how much more value then is a person than a sheep. Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."
13 Te phoeiah tekah hlang te, “Na kut te yueng lah,” a ti nah tih koe a yueng. Te vaengah khat ben kah bangla a then la a hoeih pah.
Then he told the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and it was restored whole, just like the other.
14 Tedae Pharisee rhoek tah cet uh tih anih te poci sak hamla dawtletnah a khueh uh.
But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
15 Jesuh loh a ming vaengah te lamloh khoe uh. Te vaengah anih te hlangping loh muep a vai. Te dongah amih te boeih a hoeih sak.
But Yeshua, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them all,
16 Tedae amah te mingpha la saii pawt ham amih te a uen.
and commanded them that they should not make him known.
17 Te daengah ni tonghma Isaiah loh a thui tih,
This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
18 Ka sal he ne, anih ni ka coelh. Anih soah ka thintlo ka hinglu loh a lungtlun. A pum dongah ka mueihla ka khueh vetih, namtom taengah tiktamnah a thui ni.
"Look, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul delights. I will put my Ruach on him; and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 Anih long tah oelhtaih mahpawh, hohaem mahpawh. A ol te toltung ah pakhat long khaw ya mahpawh.
He will not quarrel, nor shout; nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
20 Tiktamnah te voelphoengnah la a khuen hlan atah capu aka paep te khaem pawt vetih thut aka nap khaw thih mahpawh.
He won't break a bruised reed. And he won't put out a smoldering wick, until he leads justice to victory.
21 A ming te khaw namtom rhoek loh a ngaiuep ni,” a ti te a soep eh.
And in his name the coastlands will hope."
22 Te phoeiah rhaithae a kaem olmueh mikdael te a taengla a khuen uh tih anih te a hoeih sak. Te daengah olmueh te cal thai tih kho a hmuh thai.
Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw.
23 Te vaengah hlangping khaw boeih limlum uh tih, “Anih he David capa la om mai khaming,” a ti uh.
And all the crowds were amazed, and said, "Can this be the son of David?"
24 Tedae Pharisee rhoek loh a yaak uh vaengah, “Anih tah rhaithae rhoek kah boei Belzebul nen pawt koinih rhaithae he haek mahpawh,” a ti uh.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons."
25 Amih kah poeknah te a hmuh vaengah, “Amamih aka paekboe ram tah boeih poci tih, amamih aka paekboe khopuei neh im boeih tah cak mahpawh.
And knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
26 Satan loh Satan te haek koinih amah neh amamih paekboe uh ni ta. Te vaengah a ram loh metlam a pai eh?
And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
27 Kai loh Beezebul rhangneh rhaithae ka haek koinih, na ca rhoek tah u rhangnen lae a haek uh. He dongah amih tah nangmih kah laitloekkung la om uh ni.
If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
28 Tedae Pathen Mueihla rhangneh kai loh rhaithae ka haek atah nangmih taengah Pathen kah ram ha pai coeng dongah ni.
But if I by the Ruach of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.
29 Aka tlung te lamhma la a pin pawt atah metlam lae aka tlung kah im khuila a kun vetih hnopai te a poelyoe pah thai eh? a pin phoei daengah ni im te a muk eh.
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and carry off his possessions, unless he first bind the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
30 Kai taengah aka om pawt tah kai neh hlihloeh la om tih, kai taengah aka cut pawt loh a thaek.
"He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.
31 He dongah nangmih taengah kan thui, tholhnah neh soehsalnah cungkuem dongah hlang he dongah hlah pah ni, tedae, Mueihla ben kah soehsalnah tah tholh hlah mahpawh.
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Ruach will not be forgiven.
32 Hlang capa te ol aka tha thil te khaw dongah hlah pueng ni. Tedae Mueihla Cim te aka cal thil te tah tahae tue neh aka lo ham dongah khaw anih te tholh hlah pah mahpawh. (aiōn )
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Ruach ha-Kodesh, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come. (aiōn )
33 Thing then loh a thaih a then sak tih thing thae loh a thaih a thae sak. Te dongah thing he a thaih loh a mingpha sak.
"Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.
34 Rhulthae rhoek kah casak rhoek, a thae la na om uh lalah metlamlae a then te na thui uh thai eh. Thinko kah a baecoih te na ka loh a thui.
You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
35 Hlang then loh khohrhang then khuikah a then a sat tih, hlang thae loh khohrhang thae khuikah a thae a sat.
The good person out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.
36 Tedae nangmih taengah kan thui, palyal olka aka thui rhoek boeih te laitloeknah khohnin ah hlang loh te ham te olka a thuung uh ni.
But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
37 Na ol loh n'tang sak vetih na ol loh n'boe sak ni,” a ti nah.
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
38 Te phoeiah cadaek rhoek hlangvang neh Pharisee rhoek loh Jesuh te a doo uh tih, “Saya nang taengkah miknoek hmuh ham ka ngaih uh,” a ti nauh.
Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."
39 Tedae amih te a doo tih, “Boethae neh samphaih cadil rhoek loh miknoek tlap cakhaw, tonghma Jonah kah miknoek pawt atah miknoek m'pae mahpawh.
But he answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
40 Jonah tah nga bung khuiah khothaih hnin thum neh khoyin hnin thum a om bangla hlang capa tah diklai ko khuiah khothaih hnin thum neh khoyin hnin thum om van ni.
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 Laitloeknah hnin ah Nineveh hlang rhoek tah hekah cadil taengah pai uh vetih a boe sak ni. Jonah kah olhoe dongah amih yut uh. Tedae hekah aka om he Jonah lakah len dae ta he.
The people of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the proclaiming of Jonah; and look, something greater than Jonah is here.
42 Tuithim boeinu tah Solomon kah cueihnah hnatun hamla diklai bawt lamkah loh ha pawk dongah tahae kah cadil he laitloeknah ah a pai thil vetih a boe sak ni. Tedae heah he Solomon lakah aka len om dae ta he.
The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and look, someone greater than Solomon is here.
43 Mueihla thae loh hlang lamkah a coe phoeiah tuihang hmuen boeih ah cet tih duemnah a toem dae hmu pawh.
But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the person, passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and does not find it.
44 Te vaengah ka caeh tangtae te ka im la ka bal ni a ti. Te dongah, a pawk vaengah hoeng, nawt tangtae neh, khoem tangtae, la a hmuh.
Then he says, 'I will return into my house from which I came out,' and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
45 Te phoeiah cet tih amah lakah aka thae mueihla a tloe parhih te amah taengla a khuen. Te phoeiah te rhoek ah kun uh tih kho a sak. Te dongah te hlang te lamhma kah lakah a hnukkhueng kah a om te thae. Tahae kah cadil he khaw rhaithae lam ni a om tangkhuet eh,” a ti. p
Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that person becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation."
46 Hlangping te a voek li vaengah a manu neh a mana rhoek loh anih te voek ham a toem uh tih poeng ah pakcak pai uh.
While he was yet speaking to the crowds, look, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
47 Te dongah pakhat loh, “Na nu neh na mana rhoek loh nang voek ham n'toem tih poeng ah pai uh ke,” a ti nah.
Then one said to him, "Look, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you."
48 Te dongah amah aka voek te, “Unim kai manu? U rhoek nim kai mana rhoek?” a ti nah.
But he answered him who spoke to him, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"
49 Te phoeiah a hnukbang rhoek taengla a kut a yueng tih, “Kai manu neh kai mana rhoek la he.
And he stretched out his hand towards his talmidim, and said, "Look, my mother and my brothers.
50 Vaan kah a Pa kongaih aka saii te tah ka manuca neh ngannu nganca neh manu la om,” a ti nah.
For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother."
