< Marku 1 >

1 Pathen Capa Jesuh Khrih kah olthangthen a tongnah.
Beginning of the glad-message of Jesus Christ.
2 Tonghma Isaiah dongah a daek tangtae bangla, “Nang hmai ah kamah kah puencawn kan tueih ne, anih loh na longpuei te a rhoekbah ni.
According as it is written in Isaiah the prophet—Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way, —
3 Khosoek ah pang ol loh, “Boeipa kah longpuei te rhoekbah uh'a caehlong te a dueng la saii uh,” a ti.
A voice of one crying aloud—In the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight, be making his paths.
4 Johan tah khosoek ah aka nuem la om tih tholh khodawkngainah dongah yutnah baptisma a kawng thui.
John the Immerser came, in the wilderness, proclaiming an immersion of repentance for remission of sins;
5 Te dongah Judah kho boeih neh Jerusalem pum loh anih taengla khong uh. Te vaengah a tholhnah te a phong uh tih Jordan tuiva ah Johan loh a nuem.
and there were going out unto him all the Judaea country and all they of Jerusalem, and were being immersed by him in the Jordan river, openly confessing their sins;
6 Te vaengah aka om Johan loh kalauk mul a bai tih, a pumpu ah maehpho cihin a naak tih tangboeng neh kohong khoitui te a caak.
and John was clothed with camel’s-hair and a leathern girdle about his loins, and was eating locusts and wild honey;
7 A hoe vaengah, “Kai lakah aka len tah kai hnukah ha pawk. A taengah ka buluk tih a khokhom rhui hlam ham pataeng ka koih pawh.
and he proclaimed, saying—He that is mightier than I cometh after [me], of whom I am not worthy to stoop and unloose the strap of his sandals:
8 Kai loh nangmih te tui ah kan nuem, dae anih long tah nangmih te Mueihla Cim ah n'nuem ni,” a ti.
I, have immersed you, with water, —He, will immerse you, with the Holy Spirit.
9 Tekah khohnin a pha vaengah Jesuh khaw Galilee kah Nazareth lamkah halo tih, Jordan ah Johan loh a nuem.
And it came to pass, in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was immersed into the Jordan by John;
10 Tui khui lamkah koe a thoh vaengah vaan te ong uh tih Mueihla te vahu bangla a soah a rhum te a hmuh.
And, straightway, as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens rending asunder, and, the Spirit, as a dove, descending unto him;
11 Te vaengah vaan lamkah ol ha thoeng tih, “Nang tah Capa ka thintlola na om, nang taengah ka lungtlun,” a ti.
and a voice [came] out of the heavens—Thou, art my Son, the Beloved, —In thee, I delight.
12 Te phoeiah anih te Mueihla loh khosoek la thaeng a khuen.
And, straightway, the Spirit urgeth him forth into the wilderness;
13 Khosoek ah khohnin sawmli a om vaengah Satan loh a cuek. Te vaengah satlung taengah khaw om dae anih te puencawn rhoek loh a khut uh.
and he was in the wilderness, forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts, —and, the messengers, were ministering unto him.
14 Tedae Johan te a voeih uh phoeiah Jesuh tah Galilee la pawk. Te vaengah Pathen kah olthangthen te a hoe.
And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the glad-message of God,
15 Te vaengah, “A tue te soep coeng tih Pathen ram tah yoei coeng, yut uh lamtah olthangthen te tangnah uh laeh,” a ti.
[and saying]—The season is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God hath drawn near, —Repent ye, and have faith in the glad-message.
16 Tedae Galilee tuili kaengah a caeh vaengah, Simon neh Simon mana Andrew tah tuihoi la om rhoi tih tuili ah lawk ana voeih rhoi te a hmuh.
And, passing by near the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea, —for they were fishers;
17 Te dongah Jesuh loh amih rhoi te, “Kai hnukah bang rhoi lamtah nangmih rhoi te hlang aka tu tuihoi la om ham kang khueh eh?,” a ti nah.
and Jesus said unto them—Come after me, and I will make you become fishers of men;
18 Te dongah lawk na te pak a hlah rhoi tih Jesuh te a vai rhoi.
and, straightway, leaving the nets, they followed him.
19 Tedae hawt a caeh vaengah Zebedee capa James neh a mana Johan te a hmuh. Te vaengah amih rhoi te lawng khuiah lawk a bo rhoi.
And, going forward a little, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, and them who were in the boat putting in order the nets;
20 Te dongah amih rhoi te pahoi a khue hatah a napa Zebedee neh lawng khuiah a kutloh rhoek te pak a hlah tih amah hnukah cet rhoi.
and, straightway, he called them, —and, leaving their father Zebedee in the boat, with the hired men, they came away after him.
21 Kapernaum la a kun uh vaengkah Sabbath ah tah tunim la tlek kun tih a thuituen.
And they journey into Capernaum. And, straightway, on the Sabbath, entering into the synagogue, he began teaching;
22 Te vaengah anih kah thuituennah soah let uh. Amih a thuituen te saithainah aka khueh la om tih cadaek rhoek bangla om pawh.
and they were being struck with astonishment at his teaching, —for he was teaching them as one having authority, and, not as the Scribes.
23 Amih kah tunim ah hlang pakhat tah mueihla thae neh lawt om.
And, straightway, there was in their synagogue, a man in an impure spirit, —and he cried out aloud,
24 Te vaengah pang tih, “Nazareth Jesuh kaimih neh nang te mebang tloe lae? Kaimih he poci sak ham nim na pawk? Nang unim ti khaw kam ming ta, Pathen kah hlangcim la,” a ti nah.
saying—What have we in common with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Hast thou come to destroy us? I know thee, who thou art, The Holy One of God.
25 Tedae Jesuh loh anih te a ho tih, “Paa lamtah anih lamloh cet laeh,” a ti nah.
And Jesus rebuked him, [saying]—Be silenced, and come forth out of him!
26 Te vaengah mueihla thae loh anih te a suvaih sak. Te phoeiah ol a len la pang tih anih lamloh coe.
And the impure spirit, tearing him, and calling out with a loud voice, came forth out of him;
27 Te vaengah boeih a ngaihmang uh. Te dongah amamih te oelh uh thae tih, “Metlam nim he? Saithainah neh thuituennah a thai loh, mueihla thae rhoek pataeng a tueih vaengah a ol a ngai uh,” a ti uh.
and they were amazed, one and all, so that they began to discuss among themselves, saying—What is this? New teaching! With authority, to the impure spirits also, he giveth orders, and they obey him!
28 Te dongah a olthang tah Galilee pingpang khotomrhali boeih ah cet khonghak.
And forth went the report of him, straightway, on every hand, into the surrounding country of Galilee.
29 Te phoeiah tunim lamloh tlek cet uh tih James neh Johan khaw, Simon neh Andrew im la pawk uh.
And, straightway, out of the synagogue, going forth, he went unto the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 Tedae Simon masae tah tlo tih yalh. Te dongah anih ham te Jesuh taengah tlek a thui uh.
Now, the mother-in-law of Simon, was lying in a fever, and, straightway, they speak to him concerning her;
31 Te dongah a paan tih a kut te a tuuk pah. Anih te a thoh vaengah anih te satloh loh a hlah tih amih te a kok.
and, coming near, he raised her up, grasping her hand, —and the fever left her, and she began ministering unto them.
32 Hlaem a pha tih khomik a tlak vaengah tloh aka khueh rhoek neh rhaithae aka kaem boeih te Jesuh taengla a khuen uh.
And, evening arriving, when the sun went in, they were bearing unto him all who were sick, and them who were demonized;
33 Te vaengah kho pum ah aka om te thohka ah tingtun uh.
and all the city was gathered unto the door;
34 Te phoeiah tlohtat soeprhep aka khueh hlangtlo muep a hoeih sak. Rhaithae khaw muep a haek. Tedae amah te aming uh dongah rhaithae rhoek te cal sak pawh.
and he cured many that were sick with divers diseases, and, many demons, he cast out, and suffered not the demons to be talking, —because they knew him [to be Christ].
35 Tedae khohmuep aih. ah yueya thoo tih aka nong te khosoek hmuen la cet tih thangthui.
And, very early by night arising, he went out [and departed] into a desert place, and, there, was praying;
36 Te vaengah Simon neh a taengkah rhoek loh Jesuh hnuk a dawn uh.
and Simon, and they who were with him, went in quest of him,
37 Tedae Jesuh te a hmuh uh vaengah a taengah, “Nang te boeih n'toem,” a ti nauh.
and found him, and say unto him—All, are seeking thee;
38 Te vaengah amih te, “Kho om nah takuem ah cet uh sih lamtah, teah khawka hoeeh. Te hamni ka lo rhoe,” a ti nah.
and he saith unto them—Let us be going elsewhere, into the neighbouring country-towns, in order that, there also, I may be making proclamation, —for, to this end, came I forth;
39 Te dongah Galilee pum ah cet tih amih kah tunim ah olthangthen a hoe phoeiah rhaithae te a vai.
and he came, making proclamation, into their synagogues, throughout the whole of Galilee, —and, was casting the demons out.
40 Te vaengah, hmaibae pakhat tah anih taengah pawk tih a hloep phoeiah a cungkueng thil. Te phoeiah Jesuh te, “Boeipa na ngaih koinih kai he nan cim sak thai ni,” a ti nah.
And there cometh unto him, a leper, beseeching him and [kneeling], —saying unto him—If thou be willing, thou canst cleanse me;
41 Te vaengah a thinphat tih a kut te a yueng. Anih te a taek tih, “Ka ngaih ta, cim saeh,” a ti nah.
and, moved with compassion, he stretched forth the hand, and touched him, and saith unto him—I am willing, Be cleansed!
42 Te vaengah hmaibae tah anih lamloh pahoi nong tih cim.
and, straightway, the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed;
43 Te phoeiah thanueih ah anih te tlek a tueih.
and, strictly charging him, straightway, he urged him forth;
and saith unto him—Mind! unto no one, say aught, —but withdraw, thyself, show unto the priest, and offer for thy cleansing what things Moses enjoined, for a witness unto them.
45 Tedae a caeh neh a tong tih pung a hoe dongah ol te yilhcet. Te dongah Jesuh tah kho khuiah loloh kun thai voel pawh. Te phoeiah tah khosoek hmuen ah vawl om dae anih te a taengvai lamloh a paan uh.
But, he, going forth, began to be proclaiming many things, and blazing abroad the story, so that, no longer, was it possible for him, openly, into a city, to enter, —but, outside, in desert places, [was he], and they were coming unto him from every quarter.
