1 Yoom a ti uh vaidamding khotue tah yoei coeng.
Now the feast of unleavened bread, which [is] called the passover, drew nigh,
2 Te vaengah khosoihham rhoek neh cadaek rhoek loh pilnam te loei a rhih uh dongah Jesuh metla ng'ngawn eh tila a mae uh.
and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3 Te vaengah Satan loh hlainit khuikah hlangmi pakhat la aka om Iskariot a ti uh Judas te a kun thil.
And Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariote, being of the number of the twelve.
4 Te dongah cet tih amih taengla Jesuh metla a voeih ham khaw khosoihham rhoek neh imtawt boei rhoek te a voek.
And he went away and spoke with the chief priests and captains as to how he should deliver him up to them.
5 Te vaengah a uem uh tih anih te tangka paek ham a kotluep uh.
And they were rejoiced, and agreed to give him money.
6 Ko a tluep puei tih, amih hlangping kah mikvoelh ah Jesuh voeih ham a tuethen te a dawn.
And he came to an agreement to do it, and sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them away from the crowd.
7 Vaidamding khohnin tah a pha coeng. Te vaengah yoom te ngawn ham a kuek.
And the day of unleavened bread came, in which the passover was to be killed.
8 Te dongah Peter neh Johan te a tueh tih, “Cet rhoi lamtah mamih kah yoom n'caak ham te rhoekbah rhoi,” a ti nah.
And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the passover for us, that we may eat [it].
9 Amih rhoi long khaw amah taengah, “Melam saii ham na ngaih?” a ti nah.
But they said to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare [it]?
10 Jesuh loh amih rhoi te, “Khopuei la na kun rhoi vaengah, tuitang dongah tui aka phuei hlang pakhat loh nangmih rhoi te n'doe ni. Anih loh a kun thil im duela anih te vai rhoi ne.
And he said to them, Behold, as ye enter into the city a man will meet you, carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goes in;
11 Te phoeiah im kungmah te, 'Nang taengah saya loh, 'Yinpanah tah melam a om, te ah te ka hnukbang rhoek te Yoom ka caak puei mai eh,’ a ti,’ ti nah.
and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher says to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
12 Anih loh imhman aka ka te a khoem tangtae la nangmih rhoi n'tueng bitni, te ah te rhoekbah rhoi,” a ti nah.
And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 A caeh rhoi vaengah a ti nah bangla a hmuh rhoi tih Yoom te a rhoekbah rhoi.
And having gone they found it as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover.
14 A tue loh a pha vaengah, amah taengkah caeltueih rhoek te a ngol puei.
And when the hour was come, he placed himself at table, and the [twelve] apostles with him.
15 Te phoeiah amih te, “Ka patang hlanah nangmih neh Yoom caak ham he thincavat la ka hue.
And he said to them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.
16 Nangmih taengah kan thui, Pathen kah ram ah a soep hlan atah he he ka ca voel mahpawh,” a ti nah.
For I say unto you, that I will not eat any more at all of it until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 Boengloeng te a loh tih a uem phoeiah, “He he lo uh lamtah namamih te tael uh thae.
And having received a cup, when he had given thanks he said, Take this and divide it among yourselves.
18 Nangmih taengah ka thui, tahae lamloh Pathen ram a pai hlan khuiah misur thaih te ka o voel mahpawh,” a ti nah.
For I say unto you, that I will not drink at all of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God come.
19 Vaidam te a loh tih a uem phoeiah a aeh tih amih te a paek. Te vaengah, “He tah nangmih hamla ka paek ka pum ni. Kai poekkoepnah neh he he saii uh,” a ti nah.
And having taken a loaf, when he had given thanks, he broke [it], and gave [it] to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Te vanbangla boengloeng te khaw a vael uh tih, “He boengloeng tah ka thii dongkah paipi thai ni, te tah nangmih ham long coeng.
In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup [is] the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
21 Tedae caboei dongah kamah aka om puei kah a kut loh kamah m'voeih coeng he.
Moreover, behold, the hand of him that delivers me up [is] with me on the table;
22 Hlang Capa tah a hmoel tangtae bangla cet pai dae, anih dongah hlang aka voei hlang te tah anunae,” a ti.
and the Son of man indeed goes as it is determined, but woe unto that man by whom he is delivered up.
23 Te dongah te bang saii hamla aka caii te amih lakli ah u lam nim a pawk ve tila amamih khuiah koe oelh uh thae.
And they began to question together among themselves who then it could be of them who was about to do this.
24 Te vaengah amih khuiah tanglue la om ham aka koih te unim tila, amamih khuiah tuituknah khaw om.
And there was also a strife among them which of them should be held to be [the] greatest.
25 Tedae amih taengah Jesuh loh, “Namtom manghai rhoek loh amih a tulnoi uh tih a buem rhapsat te hlangrhoei rhoek la a khue uh.
And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule over them, and they that exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
26 Tedae nangmih tah te tlam moenih, nangmih khuiah aka tanglue loh a noe bangla om saeh, hlang aka mawt long khaw aka thotat la om saeh.
But ye [shall] not [be] thus; but let the greater among you be as the younger, and the leader as he that serves.
27 Te dongah aka vael neh aka thothat khuiah ulae aka tanglue? Aka vael te moenih a? Tedae kai tah nangmih lakli ah aka thotat lam ni ka om.
For which [is] greater, he that is at table or he that serves? [Is] not he that is at table? But I am in the midst of you as the one that serves.
28 Nangmih tah kai kah cuekhalhnah khuikah he kai neh aka tukkai la na om uh.
But ye are they who have persevered with me in my temptations.
29 Ram te a pa loh kai taengah a hal bangla nangmih taengah kai loh kang hal coeng.
And I appoint unto you, as my Father has appointed unto me, a kingdom,
30 Te daengah ni ka ram kah ka caboei dongah na caak na ok uh eh. Te vaengah Israel kah lai aka tloek koca hlainit te ngolkhoel soah na ngol thil uh ni.
that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 Simon, Simon, Satan loh cang bangla hlaih ham nangmih n'laem coeng te.
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, to sift [you] as wheat;
32 Kai tah nang kah tangnah te a muei pawt ham ni nang ham ka thangthui. Tedae na bal vaengah na manuca rhoek te duel nawn,” a ti nah.
but I have besought for thee that thy faith fail not; and thou, when once thou hast been restored, confirm thy brethren.
33 Tedae Simon loh, “Boeipa, namah nen tah thongim neh duek paan ham khaw sikim la ka om ngawn,” a ti nah.
And he said to him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
34 Jesuh loh, “Peter, namah taengah kan thui, kai hmat hamla voeithum na huek uh hlan atah tihnin ah ai khong mahpawh,” a ti nah.
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, [the] cock shall not crow to-day before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 Te phoeiah amih te, Sungsa neh khokhom khuen kolla nangmih kan tueih vaengah pakhat khaw na hlavawt uh pawt nim?,” a ti nah. Te vaengah amih loh,” Om pawh,” a ti uh.
And he said to them, When I sent you without purse and scrip and sandals, did ye lack anything? And they said, Nothing.
36 Te phoeiah amih te, “Tedae tahae atah, sungkoi aka khueh loh khuen saeh, sungsa khaw khuen saeh. Aka khueh pawt loh a himbai te yoi saeh lamtah cunghang lai saeh.
He said therefore to them, But now he that has a purse let him take [it], in like manner also a scrip, and he that has none let him sell his garment and buy a sword;
37 Nangmih ham kan thui, a daek tangtae te kai soah a soep ham a kuek. 'Anih te lailak rhoek neh a tae thil,’ a ti, kai kawng loh hmakhah a pha,” a ti nah.
for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned with [the] lawless: for also the things concerning me have an end.
38 Te vaengah amih loh, “Boeipa, cunghang yungnit om he,” a ti nauh. Te dongah Jesuh loh amih te, “Rhoeh coeng te,” a ti nah.
And they said, Lord, behold here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.
39 A khosing vanbangla cet tih Olive tlang te a paan. Te vaengah hnukbang rhoek long khaw anih te a vai uh.
And going forth he went according to his custom to the mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed him.
40 A hmuen a pha vaengah amih te, “Cuekhalhnah khuiah kun pawt ham thangthui uh,” a ti nah.
And when he was at the place he said to them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 Te phoeiah Jesuh tah amih taeng lamloh lungto dongat tluk ah khoe uh tih, khuklu cungkueng neh thangthui.
And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and having knelt down he prayed,
42 Te vaengah, “A pa, na ngaih atah boengloeng he, kai taeng lamkah loh khoe mai. Tedae kai kongaih boel saeh lamtah namah kongaih la om saeh,” a ti.
saying, Father, if thou wilt remove this cup from me: — but then, not my will, but thine be done.
43 Te vaengah vaan lamkah puencawn te a taengah phoe tih anih te thaa a cong pah.
And an angel appeared to him from heaven strengthening him.
44 A thangthui te khaw thingthuelnah la mat a om pah. A hlantui khaw a thii cip bangla a om pah tih diklai la a bo pah.
And being in conflict he prayed more intently. And his sweat became as great drops of blood, falling down upon the earth.
45 Thangthuinah lamloh thoo tih hnukbang rhoek taengla a pawk vaengah a kothaenah lamloh a ih uh te a hmuh.
And rising up from his prayer, coming to the disciples, he found them sleeping from grief.
46 Te dongah amih te, “Balae tih, na ih uh? Thoo uh lamtah thangthui uh, te daengah ni cuekhalhnah khuila na kun uh pawt eh?,” a ti nah.
And he said to them, Why sleep ye? rise up and pray that ye enter not into temptation.
47 A thui vaengah hlangping tarha ha pawk. Te vaengah hlainit khuikah pakhat Judas a ti long te amih hmaiah a lamhma pah tih Jesuh te mok hamla a paan.
As he was yet speaking, behold, a crowd, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went on before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him.
48 Tedae Jesuh loh amah te, “Judas, moknah mai neh hlang capa te na voeih nama?” a ti nah.
And Jesus said to him, Judas, deliverest thou up the Son of man with a kiss?
49 A taengkah rhoek loh a hmuh uh vaengah aka om ham te, “Boeipa, cunghang neh ka boeng uh koinih ta,” a ti nauh.
And they who were around him, seeing what was going to follow, said [to him], Lord, shall we smite with [the] sword?
50 Te dongah amih khuikah pakhat loh khosoihham kah sal te a boeng tih a bantang hna a pat pah.
And a certain one from among them smote the bondman of the high priest and took off his right ear.
51 Tedae Jesuh loh a doo tih, “Te te hlah laeh,” a ti nah. Te phoeiah a hna te a taek pah tih a hoeih sak.
And Jesus answering said, Suffer thus far; and having touched his ear, he healed him.
52 Te phoeiah Jesuh loh amah taengla aka pawk khosoihham rhoek neh bawkim kah imtawt boei rhoek, patong rhoek taengah, “Dingca a, cunghang neh thingboeng neh na caeh thil uh.
And Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders, who were come against him, Have ye come out as against a robber with swords and sticks?
53 Hnin takuem bawkim khuiah nangmih taengah ka om tih, kai soah kut na thueng uh moenih. Tedae tahae tue neh yinnah kah saithainah tah nangmih ah om,” a ti nah.
When I was day by day with you in the temple ye did not stretch out your hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of darkness.
54 Jesuh te a tuuk uh phoeiah a mawt uh tih khosoihham im khuila a khuen uh. Tedae Peter long tah soeisoei a vai.
And having laid hold on him, they led him [away], and they led [him] into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed afar off.
55 Te vaengah imtol kah a laklung ah hmai a toih uh tih a ngoltun uh hatah Peter khaw amih lakli ah ngol van.
And they having lit a fire in the midst of the court and sat down together, Peter sat among them.
56 Tedae hmaivang ah aka ngol salnu pakhat loh anih a hmuh vaengah a hmaitang tih, “He khaw he anih taengah om,” a ti nah.
And a certain maid, having seen him sitting by the light, and having fixed her eyes upon him, said, And this [man] was with him.
57 Tedae Peter loh basa tih, “Anih, ka ming moenih, huta,” a ti nah.
But he denied [him], saying, Woman, I do not know him.
58 Rhaih a om phoeiah pakhat loh anih te hmuh tih, “Nang khaw amih taengah na om van,” a ti nah. Tedae Peter loh, “Hlang khaw he, kai ka om moenih,” a ti nah.
And after a short time another seeing him said, And thou art of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 Khonoek pakhat tluk a koe phoeiah a tloe pakhat loh, “Oltak ni, he khaw anih taengah om ta, amah khaw Galilee hlang ni, “rhap a ti nah.
And after the lapse of about one hour another stoutly maintained it, saying, In truth this [man] also was with him, for also he is a Galilaean.
60 Tedae Peter loh, “Hlang khaw he, banim na thui ka ming moenih,” a ti nah. Te tlam te a thui li vaengah ai pahoi khong.
And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, [the] cock crew.
61 Te vaengah Peter te Boeipa loh a mael thil tih a sawt. Te daengah, 'Tihnin kah ai a khong hlanah kai voeithum nan huek uh tak ni,” a ti nah vaengkah Boeipa ol te Peter loh a thoelh.
And the Lord, turning round, looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him, Before [the] cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 Te dongah phawn cet tih hlawk hlawk rhap.
And Peter, going forth without, wept bitterly.
63 Jesuh te hlang rhoek loh a et uh phoeiah a tamdaeng uh tih a boh uh.
And the men who held him mocked him, beating [him];
64 Amah te a khuk uh tih a dawt uh vaengah, “Nang aka bael te unim phong lah,” a ti nauh.
and covering him up, asked him saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?
65 A tloe nen khaw muep a salpham uh tih anih te a voek uh.
And they said many other injurious things to him.
66 Khothaih a pha vaengah pilnam kah kangham rhoek, khosoihham rhoek neh cadaek rhoek te tingtun uh. Te phoeiah Jesuh te amamih kah khoboei taengla a khuen uh.
And when it was day, the elderhood of the people, both [the] chief priests and scribes, were gathered together, and led him into their council, saying,
67 Te vaengah, “Khrih la na om atah kaimih taengah thui laeh,” a ti nauh. Tedae amih te, “Nangmih taengah kan thui cakhaw na tangnah uh loengloeng mahpawh.
If thou art the Christ, tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not at all believe;
68 Kan dawt bal cakhaw nan doo uh loengloeng mahpawh.
and if I should ask [you], ye would not answer me at all, nor let me go;
69 Tahae lamkah hlang capa tah Pathen kah thaomnah bantang ah aka ngol la om pueng ni,” a ti nah.
but henceforth shall the Son of man be sitting on the right hand of the power of God.
70 Tedae hlang boeih loh, “Nang tah Pathen capa la na om van a?” a ti nauh. Te dongah Jesuh loh amih te, “Ka om te na thui uh coeng,” a ti nah.
And they all said, Thou then art the Son of God? And he said to them, Ye say that I am.
71 Te vaengah amih loh, “Laipai a ngoe pueng a te? A ka lamkah te mamih loh n'yaak uh coeng,” a ti uh.
And they said, What need have we any more of witness, for we have heard ourselves out of his mouth?
